Hi, is it just me or is the quality of sound on the wizard realy bad?
The normal speaker used when making a call is barely audible and the people on the other side complain they are unable to hear me.
Playing wit the the AGC does not make a noticable diffirence...
And then... When using Bluetooth it is even worse. It is so bad that I no longer use my BT, and I have two BT headsets: A Bluetrek G2 and a I-Tech Stereo one.
Does anyone have any advice?
Strange, I don't ahve this problem and I also use a BluTrek G2

the sound quality within a call via BT is bad! also, when using the phone is bad.
the only time the quality is good, is when i connect the headphones which came with the device.
anyway have the same problem? do you have a solution?
Hello, I have the same problem. Have you found a solution ? For information, I'm using a HTC BT headset S100 with the Trinity. In general, the volume is too low for the headset to be used other than in a quiet room.

Here is my problem. I have HBH-300 bluetooth handsfree and the sound quality of this hf is superior (to my taste) to any other I have tried.
This, however is not the case with it connected to TyTN. The sound quality of the earpiece is very poor (like all the f's and s's gets badly distorted). I have tested TyTN with 3 other bt hf:s (Nokias and Jabra) without any problems with the sound quality. The mic quality appears to be the same as with other phones according to the other person of the phone calls.
I've tried modify the registry acording to the idea of enhancing the stereo bt sound quality (tho this is just a mono hf) and tried to lower the value of the bluetooth speaker, but no luck.
So, any idea if there's anything for me to try to be able to use my beloved HBH-300 or is it just the Nokia/Jabra way from now on ?
I am looking for a great brand, best quality price no object. any comment?
I am currently using Sony Ericsson HBH610 at the moment and not happy with the sound quality.
Whenever I was in the car or moving around, people whom I was calling said that they were hearing my voice choppy.

Jabra BT8010, I was a bit nervous about the BT headsets but these were recommended to me by the forum. THey sound great and are very versatile with built in phone book and OLED screen.

Oh I have a question though with A2DP, Could you possibly answer the phone in stereo mode using Jabra BT8010? or it would switch automatically into one side mono mode whenever there is a phone call? I prefer Stereo mode for phone calls if possible since it enables me to hear more clearly and comfortably with 2 ears.
I don't think that I would be using BT8010 for music listening since I think my sensaphonics 2X-S aka ACS-T2 much better.

Hi Ade,
I have been reading the manual for BT8010 and it says that it will automatically convert into mono mode when we answer the phone. Are you sure we can enforce the stereo mode for phone calls?
I cna confirm on mine audio is played through both headphones

From my perspective:
Ok I bought Jabra BT8010 today. The earphones' sound quality are exceptional compared to my Sony HBH-610. It sounds more open, flat/neutral, bigger soundstage, ..., so it's a lot more comfortable to carry out a conversation for a long period of time. And in Stereo mode. IT'S EXCEPTIONAL. I love the stereo mode, the sound is very open very clear and very relaxing.
Sony Ericsson HBH-610 on the other hand sounds very forward, It's like a slap in your face kinda sound, it's got peak in the treble area. Some people preceive this as better for conversation since you can hear sibilance more but then it could also mean that your ears may easily go fatigue a lot faster, and most likely damaging/bad for your ears as well.
From the person who received my phone calls:
Sony Ericsson sounds much cleaner, clearer, definitely better than the Jabra BT8010. The sound is more refined and fuller. The Jabra sounds boxy, lacking high, and also more digital sounding as if, you can hear cheap compression effects

(Update: 2/23/10: To replicate the problem, use a bluetooth headset, make a call, then walk away from the phone until you're almost out of range. That's exactly the problem I have when I'm holding the device, it doesn't matter where I am distance wise, the best audio call quality I get STARTS where most phones get when you're too far from the device. Ideas?)
After weeks (3 straight) of searching, I have to finally ask.
Does anyone else have an issue with the quality of their bluetooth connection (calls only) regardless of brand and distance from the phone?
I've purchased nearly 13 different bluetooth devices trying to fix this. Changing the distance from the actual handset (experimenting if there's a different to if the Hero is plugged in or not), the price of the bluetooth unit, what type it was (speaker phone unit only, carkit, headphones, ad2p or not, etc etc), and I still have a poor call quality call.
Reception isn't an issue, I've tried from full bars to almost no bars, and in every instance, when I disconnected the bluetooth and went back to using either speakerphone, headphones, or directly on the device, the noise went away.
You can only hear the noise when the remote party speaks, and it really sounds like the old analog bag phones in bad reception. Is there anything as far as changing settings on the bluetooth to improve the audio quality?
not really. the BT module sends information to the receiver and the receiver decodes that into audio. so you cant really set an EQ for BT with android at least so it basically depends on the receiving unit. while music is playing turn the volume down to 75% on the phone and thats the best quality you will get. im an audiophile and it works for me.

It works great on my Hero... Much better than my HTC Diamond!
Haven't had any trouble from my Jawbone 1. The sound quality isn't as good as it was on my TP, TP2 or Pre but it's ok. Haven't had any weird noises. But it does randomly disconnect from my Hero. Well the phone says it is still connected but I get no call notifications through it and when I answer, the audio is through the handset. Even right after I finish talking to someone through the BT. Gonna have to chalk it up to the Hero cause I've had no issuse with it on any other phones. Best BT ever in my opinion.
Yeah, I don't know. I have used the Jawbone II, Jawbone Prime, Moto H12, Moto H790, and Plantronics Voyager Pro all with no problems in sound quality, also audio quality is very important to me because I do have some hearing loss. My call quality with the Hero isn't quite as good as with my old Blackberry Curve, but it is still very functional as I use it at least an hour everyday. If you have gone through that many headsets it is quite possibly the device itself.
I don't know, I have 3 Hero's and I honestly don't like the quality of sound on any of them. One of them is just straight stock. I just wish I could get it with a clear quality as my old dumbphones have. I think I've been helped to discover the answer to my question, thank you all!

Have been googling and can't find anything of the sort for Android. Is there a way to fix the audio quality?
My brother has the SE Xperia X10 and it has way better AD2P audio quality, even though it's still android 1.6. So it's not an Android bug, but rather a driver/setting somewhere.
Also the range the BT has is really small, I have a Logitech Pure-Fi Mobile speaker, which connects through BT AD2P, the quality is lower then on my HD2 (after tweaking) and the range is only 5-7m, while the HD2 managed to have skipless playback and higher quality at over 15-20m...
Apart from this I'm really loving the phone . And my car radio has full support for the other BT features. Like skipping tracks (in Spotify) and dialing numbers via the address book on my car radio instead of on my phone. And see who's calling on my radio's display.

You can compare the quality with 96Kbps MP3 which is really bad imho, but still usable. It's about the same on many phones though, allmost all are set to max 31 bitpool... But with windows mobile it was an easy fix.
As the source code is out, I hope the ROM builders can soon find a way to fix this.

I use a pair of plantronics 590e headphones over A2DP and the quality is brilliant! I have not changed a thing in the setup.
I wont play anything lower than 192kbs (most of my mp3 are 320kps) as i am a real fussy git when i comes to audio.
I have used the standard music player and tunewiki and both are perfect!
Are you atchaly using the A2DP or standard mic and mono sound protcal for calls?

You won't know the difference if you haven't heard the difference between bitpool 31 and bitpool 58, it's like night and day to me. Even 256kbps MP3 sounds bad to me tho.
Tried different audio files and it's not spotify causing it. As my brother is also plaything through spotify at HQ settings (which is 160Kbps OGG, comparable with 320+ Kbps MP3) ...
Eagerly waiting for an AD2P fix for android.
When I have my HD playing music through my Car's Bluetooth the quality is also pretty poor.
For some reason I can't choose any of the EQ settings? If I could just try and add some treble I think I could put up with it!
Just tried playing music via bluetooth to my sony head unit in the car and it became so choppy it was painful to even try to listen to it.
Great phone but really disappointed that there is a problem like this as one of the main uses of my phone is for audio in the car.
I use a Sony Ericsson mw600 and the quality is not good. The same headset with my sisters itouch and it sounds great. Is this a hardware or a software issue?

You must be careful with the mw600 that it connects in the correct mode. As headphones NOT headset for music. If you get it wrong it will sound awful. You can check by tapping the Mic during playback, if you can hear it through the headphones you have it set up wrong

i had exact earphone, but it's just awful. first of all; htc doesn't make me choose any sound enhancements, other thing is, my 320kbps musics aren't different from 96 at all.
ps. i am an audiophile.
Imanaged to find my old iTech BlueBand headset yesterday and gave that a go. Sound quality was loud and clear and well balanced.
Shame about the delay though - it's worse than I'm used to. Video is pointless as the lag on the audio is far too much to be bearable.
