I have O2 Exec which I flashed months ago with the i-mate Jasjar rom.
I hope i-mate won't forget JJ users like they always do forget their customers after about two rom upgrades. They did that with the i-mate PDA2K which I was one of the first to purchase only to leave us with numerous bugs and only one or two rom updates.
I am wondering if there's a newer ROM than what I have
ROM version: 1.30.76 WWE
ROM date: 02/20/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
Still got pretty annoying issues with the machine (same i did with the PDA2k).
Sometimes won't connect to UMTS/GPRS - soft reset needed.
Sometimes won't dial phone numbers i always dial - says 'can't complete the command' or some similar ****.
Sometimes will look for the network endlessly. at times I see i don't get calls and check only to see that the machine was 'searching' for network for hours.
Sometimes machine won't wake up to alerts. It's only when I get a phone call that it awakes it and then i hear all the alarms.
These are all stuff making the machine a nice game, but not something sturdy and reliable you can count on. I new each ROM is usually better and was wondering if there's anything better that I already have.
Thanks guys.
go get Dopod 1.30 or Qtek 1.30 that will be better for you
The latest one is T-Mobile NL ROM 130.115. the second latest is T-Mobile UK Rom 130.114... Third Latest is Dopod WWE Rom 130.111. Forth is Xda Exec Rom 130.107... Fifth Latest is VodaPhone WWE 130.97... Qtek is 6th with 130.77 and I-mate is 7th with 130.76
Has anyone heard if I-mate is going to release a new ROM with A2DP?
I know we can hack/install other ROMs with A2DP, but before I go through the hassle of an update (re-entering all of my data service & e-mail settings, and then re-installing software), I was wondering if a new official I-mate ROM is immanent???

I have upgraded using Jeff KitchenROM. Everything is wonderful but incoming sms will no longer vibrate. From Settings/Sounds & Notifications I have ticked Vibrate for Inbox: New SMS message.
It just won't vibrate on new incoming sms but it will still vibrate on incoming calls. Please help. Appreciate that.
This happened to me when i flashed the 2003 version 4.00.01, in fact I totally lost all audio and vibra notifications for bot SMS and incoming calls.
Now I have flashed to 4.00.05 from the ROM Kitchen, and I am not having this problem anymore.
My details are as follows:
O2 xda (Asian Release)
ROM: WM2003PE (version 4.00.05)
Ratio Stack: 4.21 (UK Release)
I'm not sure about this, but maybe there is some software you installed that confilcts the system or something, or maybe the actual hardware release could also be a factor. Have you tried re-flashing the ROM into your device?
Thanks for replying ZeroExtreme. You might be rite about software conflicting theory.
Btw, just like you, I flashed from ROMKitchen 4.00.05 Radio 4.17.00 and asian O2.
I think I will do a backup, then cold reset and test the SMS immediately to get the answer. Thanks again for the suggestion. Will post the outcome later.
ohtwo,
I noticed we have one difference, your radio stack is still version 4.17, the stock asian radio stack, I flashed mine to the UK version (4.21).
I am waiting for O2 Asia to release the new upgrade for Asia, then I will flash the radio stack to the 4.21 Asian version.
I can't believe it. How strange. Just when I was about to cold reset my O2, out of curiosity I just sent a SMS to my O2 and was shocked when I felt the vibration from my O2.
How strange and unpredictable. I guess 4.00.05 is still far from stable but overall I feel that the enhancements on the SMS feature is enough to justify the upgrade. I just simply love it.
Many thanks to ZeroExtreme for the responds.
NOOO!!!
Is my XDA2 on its way out?!? I've had it since the end of 2003, but since I dropped the original O2 ROM back into it (Post-WM2k5) and applied the updates from O2, it's rebooted on me twice. Once I was in the train station playing Solitaire and it dropped out on me, and it did the same again about 45 minutes ago shortly after I connected it to the PSU. Battery at 40% and 90% respectively, so that seems unlikely to me.
would help if you stated what version it is you call original o2 rom
I call it what I downloaded from the O2 site, shipped out as an "Upgrade" (which is a complete ROM image)
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 03/15/04
The update includes some fax software and other software upgrades, no ROM.
Mine has just done the exact same thing. Did it a few months back too. :?
If anyone has an explanation I'd love ot hear it
Mine used to do it before I upgraded to WM2003SE and 2005. But since going to 2005 its fine, just wish I could use MMS
Problem I had with 2005 was that I couldn't get the contacts out of my SIM. But I might have just been having a blonde week.
Strangely, the problem has not persisted.
Dear Group, got my new Wizard for Xmas and very nice it is too, i've spent a lot of time getting to know it.
But a question or two.
How long should it take to start up? Mine takes just over 2 mins, is that longer than usual guys?
I should say here that it's an unlocked 02 model with a Vodafone sim. I have noticed that theres several 0s programs installed, none of which i need, but i can't see any way to remove them.
I wonder also whether loading a o2 screen doesn't slow it down a bit, i know from my PC experience that the more strt up items you have the slower it is?
Is there any way i can speed up things, or am i fretting about nothing?
Best Wishes
Please post the Rom version for us. The early roms for all wizard types were REALLY slow to boot. The later ones sped up the boot process immensely.
the Rom version is on the 1st splash screen after a soft Reset. It'll be 4 sets of numbers.
For Example Mine is:
IPL 2.25
SPL 2.25
GSM 02.25
OS 2.25.11.1
My XDA was originally from O2 (April 2006) I then updated to a new QTEK ROM and the change in speed was great.
Since then, O2 have updated their own ROM (www.my-xda.com). This is faster loading and better on the battery.
I am now running a Vodafone SIM on a generic ROM. Just gotta remember the GPRS and MMS settings.
Ah yes, how foolish of me not to give details, and i wrote them all down meaning to. Here they are,,,,
ROM 2.21.4 WNE
Rom Date 3/9/06
Radio Version 02.07.10
Protocal Version 413.1.03
ExtRom Version 2.21.4.101.
I should also mention that i have SPB Pocket Plus and Diary installed, also Wisbar and Phone Alarm.
Many Thanks
I have set my exec phone up to non o2 settings (by taking the battery out before it started to load the o2 settings after a hard reset)I have everything working mobile internet etc the only thing that doesnt seem to work is the video call, on my previous phone (motorola a1000) when I video called someone the camera came on straight away , does the exec wait until your connected ???
what rom are you using? some don't support video calling.
rom
Rom Version 1.30.107 Wwe
Rom Date 04/11/06
Radio Version 1.09.00
Protocol Version 42.42.p8
Hi,
My voicemail indicator icon sometime doesn't show, even several voicemails there, it still doesn't show.
It happen most of the time (with signal/ or w/o). Reboot the handset doesn't seem to help.
Any thought? I'm using T-Mobile network and never had this problem before.
WM6 5.2.318 build 15341.4.0.01
ROM 2.18.0.0 WWE 2/14/06
Radio version 02.61.11
Protocol version 4.1.13.28
ExtROM version 2.25.11.102
What's up tempoct?
I'm having the same issue; however, I have a Cingular 8125 on Cingular's network. I upgraded the phone to WM6. Below are my specs:
- Rom Version: 2.18.0.0 WWE
- Rom Date: 2/14/06
- Radio Version: 02.61.11
- Protocol Version: 4.1.13.28
- ExtROM Version: 2.25.11.102
I am thinking it may be the radio version we're using; however, i posted my own thread before i noticed yours and i am also questioning the same issue.
I've gotten voicemails but not notification what so ever by the phone, which means i have to constantly keep checking my voicemails to see if there's anything...
I'll keep you posted if someone lets me know anything in regards to our issue.
Good luck!
Will V.
I might try to upgrade the radio version.
The thing is, my problem is not consistent though. Says, sometime I tested by calling my phone and left the voice mail. Sometime, the indicator show but most of the time it doesn't.
Its the security policy...
Check the service indication and service loading security policy. Might be worth applying the same policy as the original rom which your device shipped with.
I have a O2 Atom Life upgraded to WM6 and I have the same problem. I don't get the voicemail notification icon to turn on when I get a new email. I do get the missed call icon if my phone is on though. My Tel-Co is T-Mobile in the US.
I can tell that I receive the signal because when I leave myself a message using another phone, as soon as I hang up, my phone wakes up (screen turns on). I know it's not the SIM or T-Mobile because I tried it on my old phone and it works perfectly well.
The last post says to check the security policy. I have no idea what you're talking about. I apologize for being a newbie but can anyone explain in more details what I should do?
Thank!
It's your radio ROM version. Try either 2.19.11 or 2.69.11 and the problems should stop. Personally I use 2.69.11 because it seems to get better reception than 2.19.11.
That sounds really good, but being relatively new to this, I have a few questions:
1. Is this Radio ROM going to work with my Atom Life with WM6? I found such a file on Handango, but it was for a HTC Wizard running WM5.
2. Is it good for T-Mobile US? I read in some other thread that 2.69.11 is only good for Europe.
3. How do you install it?
Thank you again!
