Anyone has a completely non working a500?

Anyone has a completely non working a500? I might want to do a complete hardware breakdown after my vacation. Not sure yet. So I'm just putting the question out there.

I do! It's completely dead, the battery is for sale on Ebay. but most of the internals are still intact and working. (LCD and glass is gone)

PS - How did you end up with such a dead iconia?
PPS - Hang on a second. Most of the internals are working? Why didn't you rma it?

I didn't RMA due to the estimated costs of repair. I'd be happy to send it to you for free if you don't mind paying the shipping. The board is in full working order. (as far as I know) It is missing the LCD panel, glass, and battery. (As i said earlier) the board should still function, I'd be happy to send the AC adapter too.
PS: I accidentally sat on it (full weight), and it just ruined the screen. I thought the glass was still ok, but it wasn't.

[Q] can i get this part alone: area with rear camera

Hi XDA'ers
I recently bought a used mt4g, super cheap price.. but i got that i paid for ...
Saddly the previous owner really didn't take care of it, he didnt keep it in a case, so its pretty scratched and dinged up... but i can like with those, BUT the worst part is that the covering for the back camera is scratched up badly....
it seriously affects my camera quality.. very blurry and grainy
I partly blame htc for a design flaw/oversight .. why would they have that as the most protruding part of the back of the phone..it should have been recessed..anyway

I guess that I will probably have to get a whole new housing, as I haven't seen this part alone online anywhere.
If any one has a bricked phone or old housing not in use and the camera area is good PLEASE let me know if i can get it...

that is actually part of the center frame piece. you should be able to find it new on ebay or amazon.

i have already check both of the recommended sites... no luck so far...
when u say 'its a part of the center frame' does that mean it can not be separated from the housing or it can be ?

[Q] Can this be fixed without buying a new part?

While disassembling the HD2 to fix the overheating CPU issue, I accidentally snapped the cable that is attached to the volume controls. Since hacking on the hd2 always involved the volume controls, it's necessary that I find a solution, so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I circled in red the point on the cable that snapped. So all in all, I ask if this current board/cable can be repaired or do I need to find a replacement.

Ok judging by all the replies so far suggesting I just buy a replacement, it's safe to say that this part is unfix-able and must be replaced?

Only ever seen a ribbon repaired once & that was done by a micro soldering expert & done due to lack of available part.
best bet is new at about $25 inc P&P WW .
Used can found on xda I expect if browse or post a wanted part thread ...

well after market parts are aftermarket parts.
as for the missing parts, i think they are a separate and come off from your old one!
i'm not sure but maybe you can approach the motorola service centre and ask them for it? that way you will get an original part if its from them!
+ no possibility of losing on the water proof-ness of our phone!

Ah ok yes maybe, but others sellers are selling those pieces (example : http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Red-R...&ps=63&clkid=823210212937007667#ht_5027wt_905), so maybe they just forgot to add them on the photos..., anyway I sent a message to the seller with all my questions, I just hope that he will reply to me... :/

I need a small wireless charger

Hi. I'm in the idea stadium of a DIY car holder/charger since the ones out now looks stupid to me.
I need a smaller charger like the Nokia dt-900 which people tell me doesn't work well with n4 (comments on that?)
While looking at what is out now I've come to notice one thing (many actually), some sellers say that to get the n4 to work with their chargers you have to place the phone high on the charger in order to line up the coils. Looking at LG's charger this looks false:

The charger is placed above the phones centre line. This isn't really that a big issue but anyway strange.
The charger I need also need to be powered at 5 or 12v to simplify installation in car.
Please feel free to help me with your findings in this matter.
As for the DIY details, I'll let you in later on.
EDIT: The phone has to be high on the charger, not the opposite as I wrote :s

The Nokia chargers don't work well with anything pre- Hardware Revision 12 (if I remember correctly). So if you have a brand spanking new Nexus that says it is Revision 12 the Nokia might work.

What's the difference between revisions that makes it work?
I thought the problem with the nokia charger was that it didn't provide enough power to actually charge the phone reliably.
