How to transfer systems sounds to BT mono headset? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi!
Anyone know how to make the system sounds (MP3s, Rings, Dings, Clicks, Voice Command caller ID and such) come out of a properly paired mono bluetooth headset?
Thanks!

I just did a search for you--try the terms "wizard bluetooth audio" turns up a hit for a post entitled "Redirect all sound to bluetooth headset?"
Even better here's a direct link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42569&highlight=wizard+bluetooth+audio
Search works, please use it!

Thanks! I guess I was not searching for the right terms. Appreciated!

Another tip that may help for "Display results as:" is to select Topics (not the default. May help some, but maybe not for everyone. Good luck!

This is a simple way to do so. Just change the registry value below.
HKLM/Software/OEM/voicecommand
Set the value of "launchapenable" from 1 to 0.
Once this is set, the default voice dial will not work anymore. Instead, when you press the button on your BT headset, it will re-direct all audio to the BT headset. Press it one more time, it will re-direct the audio back to the PPC speaker.
This works will all application including music, VoIP application (like SJPhone, Skype).

Bluetooth headset as earphones

Does anyone know how in WM5 I can make my Plantronics M2500 bluetooth headset, which shows up in bluetooth xection as "headset" work like an external speaker? In pocket2003 on my h6315 I was able to tell it to have all sound, or just phone sound go to my bluetooth, and I rather enjoyed listening to music while working. But I cannot find even half the options in the bluetooth section as in 2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. loving my MDA.
I found this out by accident. If you are running Microsoft Voice Command, evidently it does not shut down the link to the headset. I have found that if I start playing something (i.e., in Windows Media Player) and then activate Voice Command, and then just let Voice Command time out, the sound will switch to the bluetooth headset.
And Voice Command allows you to control the Media Player, as well!
headset as ear phones
I tried playing my media player then activationg voice command. Sorry didn't work for me. after the voice command timed out, it reverted to the mda speaker. Any thoughts?
There is a utility for this. It comprises 3 programs.
One turns on blutooth as the speaker, one turns it off, and the third toggles it.
I found this somewhere in the forum but can't remember where so I've attached it here.
Copy the programs to your wizard and run them as needed.
do a search for VJVolubilis. That will do what you are looking for also. I stream radio to the headset while at work pretending to be busy!

any way to have ringtones on BT headset?

Hi all, I have MDA Pro with BT headset Motorola H500. When I have call, the headset just play its built-in ringtone. I have set different tones for some 'important' contact and want to listen to them on BT headset, is there any software or registry tweak can do it? I used MS Voice Command and it direct the ringtone to the BT headset, but using that program was a huge memory consuming and not useful for a non-native speaker like me. Any help would be appreciated.
PS: sorry for my bad English.
Your headset needs to support the handsfree profile not just the headset profile for this to work.
When I tap & hold on the headset icon, there are 'set as hands free' entry, click on it has no effect, anything i can do to activate handsfree? TIA.
Not unless your headset supports it. If it did, you would hear the ringtones.
I am looking at some specs of the headset, it do support both 'headset' and 'hands free' profiles. But I cannot hear the ringtone of MDA Pro just the default ringtone of the headset. Any ideas? Thx.

Bluetooth Mono Headset + Redirect sound to it

Hi,
I been trying the BtAudioNav to redirect sound to my bluetooth hands-free but it doesn't work on my Trinity.
Anyone has try it with success?
Most mono-headsets do not support the A2DP profile.... so it is to be expected that this doesn't work for music and stuff...
However, i had it working once on my old Fujitsu Loox 600...can't remember how i did that though, but it has a different BT stack anyway...
Or do you just mean the phone-calls being redirected does not work ? Please try to be a bit more specific
Phone-calls works but for example redirect sound from GPS soft to headset not!!. With BtAudioNav should works but with my Trinity not.
Not all phones are capable of directing all audio to the mono bluetooth headset using the handsfree/headset audio gateway profile. Many of them are designed to ONLY stream voice calls. I'm not sure if this is due to the hardware or software (possibly a combination?), but some phones are capable of streaming/redirecting all audio entirely (as well as mic input) to the mono headset. I guess the Trinity doesn't. I've only heard of a few phones that actually work with that BT audio utility you're using, and they seem to be mostly older models, but that's just a guess. Anyway, perhaps there's a way to redirect all audio through the stereo bluetooth profile instead?
1. Copy the folder BTAudio and its contents to \Program Files
2. Using a registry editor amend the following entries from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand
Path = \Program Files\BTAudio\BTAudioOn.Exe
VoiceCmdDuration = 86400 (DEC) = 24 hours
3. Softreset
What does the above tool do exactly?

Yeah...i'm very curious to what this does too...
Could this by any chance connect a Stereo BT headset in Audiomode by just clicking the .exe ? (ie not having to go into BT settings in the comm manager screen ?)

Yes, can you please be more specific as to how this works? Does it interfere with voice dialing or making/receiving calls?
I have an Axim X50v which works just great with Skype and my mono Flamingo BT headset. Now I have an HTC P3600 and Skype won't work through the headset.
Bloody technology seems to go backwards :-(
Thanks.

All sounds will be re-directed to the blutetooth headset when you press the button(voice dial) on the headset.
Guys, please DO read my past articles and/or use the forum search engine to look for them. At http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977 , I've explained everything you need to know.
Did anyone get BTaudio working on their Trinity?
BtAudioToggle opens a link with my mono headset ( I hear hissing in ear piece) but media still plays through Trinity speaker.
I read the Hermes forum about a different reg hack. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278778
Whats working for people?
Perfect audio re-direction with Jasjar & Jabra BT250v
that was very neat & BRILLIANT !!!
got my Jabra BT250v without knowing these issues. on discovering that my jasjar was not capable of audio re-direction to Jabra.....I was shattered. ROM upgrades r scary to say the least.
after a day of frantic search & many failed softwares, this one did the trick. 'qyach'.....many thanks for this.
now my Jasjar & Jabra work perfectly with TCPMP & Skype. Voice command continues to work from the Jasjar mic.
I couldn't ask for more.
THANK U ONCE AGAIN !!!
Tried VJVolubilis, Bluemusic and BTAudio (with both of the 2 registry hacks referred to in this thread). None of them worked on my Trinity. Would very much appreciate someone shed more light on this issue.

Doesn´t work on my Trinity
Edit: don´t know why but now it works. Only that I have to press the voice dial button twice (?)
Hi,
I got the Motorola T305 to connect to my TyTN and the audio gateway routed to the T305. Everything sounds great but I get this annoying beep once every 5 seconds. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?
Thanks,
Sean
JUST SORTED IT on my TRINITY all workin fine
Only problem is, as the article suggest it disables the voice commands!! I can live with this as I only want to stean the TOMTOM voice when using the satnav while walking or on my bike.
What I had in mind was a a couple of icons, one to make the registry changes for the BT Audio streaming and the other icon to toggle back (ie change the registry back to voice comand via the BT headset). As far as I can see (once BTaudioOn.exe is copied to my Trinity) the only difference between turning my Jabra BT250v into an audio streaming headset and a phone headset are the two registry changes; and then change them back to give me a Phone headset again.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible to use a .REG file?
Can it be written on a PC and then copied to the Trinity so that it runs?
Will reg files run the same on a PDA and they do on a PC?
Thanks in advance
New app?
Can anyone make an app in which you can configure which feature you want?
1) Change to Voice Dail
2) Change to Voice Command
3) Change to a redirection program like BTAudio.
and got to set the delaytime too
Destination Gotland Bluetooth Mono Sound.cab
I installed this, no registry changes, etc. and it works great. you toggle between unit speaker and the headset by hitting the button on the BT headset. It is great for Skype.
The Cab is in the Zip. I think I picked it up off the tutorial here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977
Battery Problem
OK, the solution I posted does work well. However it just killed my battery life. I think that whenever the BT is paired, even in the regular mode (not streaming to the mono BT) it uses the full amount of battery as if it was streaming to it. I think the battery life was even reduced without a paired headset as long as BT was not disabled.
I guess I am still looking for a better solution too.

Redirecting TRINITY sound to handsfree

After reading very long threads about this issue, many changes in the registry and some full pda restores, I haven´t found the way to redirect all the sounds to the handsfree in my TRINITY.
Has anyone managed to make BTAudio or any other program work with a Trinity?
I think that as long as the handsfree headset you use supports the A2DP profile then all audio is redirected to it without the need for any registry hack. At least that's my experience with my SonyEricsson stereo BT headset.
2 Types of Redirect
One is with A2DP where the bt device is compliance to it. I do not have one but I believe it will work fine.
Another way which I am using is via the Handsfree Voice Command channel. When a voice command software(Such as Cyberon Voice Speed Dial) is installed and when the recognition is triggered(usually by a button on headset), all audio is redirected to the the headset.
So the trick is to keep this redirection longer.
This is can achieved by changing two registry settings.
- Change the duration to something longer, like FFFF.
- Invalidate the voice command software execution.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:FFFF
"Path"="\WINDOWS\invalid_sddialer.exe"
With that, I have lost Voice command via my headset but I hardly do VC at all, and if needed, I had associated one of the button on my dopod to launch VC but I need to speak into the phone instead.
Not sure if this is the best way but it's the only way I know of untill I figure out other.
FYI, I'm currently using Dopod D810 with lvsw ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299771) and a Motorolla H700.

Hello,
I agree with this.
I had not been able to get the Trinity to redirect audio to a sony HBH-IV835 heandfree device.
Since I've change for a Sony DR-BT20NX headset with AD2P profile it's working like a charm. No more registry hack or software needed.
Then registry hack only concern improvement of audio quality (bitpool and so on).
Sadly i'm not able to use real stereo (replace the use of joint stereo) because it's generationg a slight annoying hiss sound.
Is this still the status, also with WM6?
I can't believe it's not possible to redirect some kind of way like I've been reading in the Tornado treads.
Yeah, I'm also can't redirect all sound to my headset (Plantronics Pulsar P590) by one click or by launch some program. Every time I need launch BT Settings, open Devices tab, tap'n hold on "590Plantronics", and select "Set as hands-free" or "Set as Wireless audio".
Can't find other ways to do it - no registry hacks, no other...
Does this help maybe?

I did not test it yet...
No, it doesn;t work too... All discussed programs (BTARouter, BTAudioNav, BTAudioToggle) are just redirect phone calls to the my headset. No audio output at all (headset icon doesn't appear).
Just found this:

Anyone try it on Trinity? Its a new program to me.

I just tried it. Didn't work. I could hear it activating the speaker on the headset as I launched the app (soft hiss) but it didn't re-direct any audio. Voice calls only through the headset (which is the same as without the app installed). I guess it really only works for smartphones.
The registry hack worked for me but I need voice command so it's not really a permanent fix for me.
I'd be quite happy to buy a new headset too but I don't want something bulky or with wires everywhere like all the stereo ones on the market. The single ear clip on ones are just so quick and easy to use...

I saw a lot of different registry hack around here..
The one thath works on p3600 is?
I've tried a lot of but no one works.
I dont't need voice dial so it can be good.
I use my p3600 with a BT Helmet.. so I'd like to listen to tom tom inside..
thanks a lot.
Hi
I have the p3600 and a sony mex-bt 2500 and i can redirect all audio to the carcit but i have to connect with the audio (A2DP)conection and not the headset conection so you'r divice has to have the A2DP profile to work.

Still no solution?
Hi you all,
is there still no solution for the Trinity?
I am actually experiencing the skipping problem, but I would be half-glad if I could redirect audio in mono to the headset.
Please advise!

Get headset that supports A2DP profile and it works fine. I have Plantronics Voyager 855 stereo, and it works flawlessly in mono or stereo mode with modifying any registry hacks. Music sounds awesome too with this headset, just like my bose earbud phones.

Audio files played back through bluetooth???

Ok guys, I finally picked up a stereo bluetooth setup and it works great for calls, but have one issue...when I play audio with WM player or TCPMP Core, its routed through the phones external speaker rather than the bluetooth. Is there anyway I can fix it so it will play all audio through the bluetooth headset?
Thanks,
GunRunner
Hi GunRunner,
I just got the Blue-Ant head set and it does not play the mediaplayer. However, I have a great set of Southwing headphones the go behind the head (very comfrotable) and not only can you listen to your music with full stero but answer calls, use voice dial and everything. Their GREAT. Cost was $99.00 USA.
Hope this helps
Beachboyde
That is the only thing I don't get about the bluetooth headset I have....voice dialing, calling, etc... all works great...just no audio plays through them....its almost like the programs don't support bluetooth playback...

Btaudio v.1, but you need to change a registry value for the voicecommander duration. The problem has always been that when btaudio is turned on it only works as long as the voicecommander voice prompt length of time was. The registry value extends that and when btaudio is turned off, voicecommander works again. The registry valude is in HLKM -- software -- oem (or vice versa can't remember) and then voicecommanduration... change this value to 10000 or something big. It has worked for me so far. The only down side is that you can't use voice commands and btaudio routing at the same time. However, btaudio is convenient enough if it has a shortcut.
fyi -- if you use it, from time to time, you might have to switch off btaudio even when you didin't think it was on. This happens rarely, but when voicecommands don't work, that's usually why.
When I say voicecommander, for me, I'm referring to cyberian voice prompt thingy. I"m not sure how it might interact with other voice speed dial and voice prompt programs.
Hope this helps.
btaudio is freely available on the net. You can get it either here somewhere or on pocketpcfreeware.

I have a Philips SHB7102 that works very well via bluetooth.
It came as a 2 piece, transmitter and receiver. The idea is that you can plug the transmitter into your MP3 player. The receiver then plays the tunes but will also be your headset/speaker if a call comes in.
Currently, I'm just using the receiver by itself set as 'Wireless Stereo'.
When i use it with the JASJAM, the play/pause and skip tracks buttons on the receiver work through Media Player and HTC Audio. This is not the case for the IPOD.
