I am wondering how i can get the button on the wired headset that comes with the wizard to enable MSVoice Command. Any ideas?
theunforgiven: the question has been answered many times. Sorry for being a PITA, but have a search for it...
eg:

That only works for BlueTooth headsets.
theunforgiven was asking if there was a way to get the button on the wired headset (which comes with the Wizard) to activate MS Voice Command.
Apologies, I was talking out of my a$$.
There's another thread on the wired headset issue, I pointed you to the wrong thread. Thus far, only one solution, and I don't think it's perfect according to the thread:

I'm fed up! currently using an Ericsson HBH-662 with it, and it's crap!!! I can only use the headset to activate the voice command once. Clicking the headset button does not release the channel. Consequently when I try and start MS Voice again I just get a dull click in the ericsson earpiece and it will not activate the headset.
Can anyone recommend a headset that is working well with the voice command hack.
thanks.
Is MS Upgrading Voice Command
I had exactly the same problem, I followed the instructions to get MS Voice Command to activate via the headset, then I couldn't disconnect. So I gave up.
I'm waiting for MS to release an upgrade that works properly with BT
It is a problem with VC not the headset. Note that VC isn't designed to do what we are trying. It requires a reg hack to even implement it. Hopefully it'll change, but a new headset likely won't help.
Hi,
I'm no developer so I don't know if this would work but if there is a developer out there with spare time and knowledge of the Bluetooth Stack, maybe they can confirm if this is possible and even write something.
Headsets like the Motorla H700 and the Jabra J10 seem to lose the ability to activate Microsofts Voice Command after the first call. I notice that if I run Cyberon's Speed Dial after this happens, Voice Command activates when the headset button is pushed.
Cyberon's Speed Dial is obviously resetting the connection or something. So wouldn't it be possible to write a small wrapper that would reset the connection to the headset and then launch Voice Command. This utility could be set in the registry for Voice Dialing and it would reset and launch Voice Command.
If this works it would make a lot more bluetooth headsets useable with Voice Command.
Just a thought (as dumb as it may be
Hi,
Search the forum..there is a solution with A2dp and the compatible BT headsets.
I searched didn't see it, if there is a solution, can someone point me to the solution or thread.
Hello,...
I am new here and thought you might help me with my little problem.
I allready searched the forum for that issue, but i did not find a real solution, so maybe someone can help me find a solution. Btw. please excuse my bad englisch, i am from Germany and really try my best.
Well, i have a german XDA Mini with BigStorage Rom 1.12.01 GER and Windows Mobile 2003.
I really have 2 problems now with the use of Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 and a Bluetooth Headset (not with Handsfree Profile).
My first Problem is, how can i make the Software response on pressing one of the 2 Headset Buttons. I really would like to initiate voice dialing with that so that i can leave the phone in my bag or whereever. I read something about a registry change, but i don't have that registry key, so maybe i need to install another software for that first.
If anybody could give me a easy to understand way to activate that, that would be really great.
My second Problem is, how can i use my BT Headset for the Audio Output. I can't hear the voice of Voice Command in the Earphone, it only plays on the XDA Mini itself. I downloaded a Bluetooth Stach Patch which gave me the option to stream audio to headset, abut my Headset isn't show in the list, and it does not work. I tried a Headset with Handsfree Profile from Plantronics (M3000), but it also did not show in the list. Can anyone help me with this ?
Well if could get this to work somehow that would be really really great...
Thanks in advance...

Funny...I was researching this almost exactly as you were posting (research starting at XDA-Developers, of course!)
I found a rather distressing article at http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2006/02/03/524289.aspx that basically says that Microsoft Voice Command doesn't work over Bluetooth. HOWEVER, responses to the article reveal the registry hack to set Voice Command to the default Bluetooth dialer. It is:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path=\Program Files\Voice Command\voicecmd.exe
I tried this on my Cingular 8125 with Motorola H500. Have to press the button twice (a problem also documented in the responses), and recognition is reduced, but it works! Voice Command audio is also piped to my headset.

Well, thanks alot for this tip, but it doesen't work for me. I tried changig the value to the path where my Voice Command is installed, but it did not do anything.
I think this is because i don't have a voice dialing software at all istalled on my device. Maybe i need to install another software first to activate the bluetooth support itself and than change the path to the program.
I figured out that i can make a redial with my headset without installing any software, so maybe there is a way to change this option to start voicecmd.exe.
I looked over the registry to find the key where the redial is initiated, but can't fins anything.
Has anyone done something like that ? I guess this is the only way to use voice command with BT Headset...
For all your help, thanks in advance...
Thalys
Sorry for Doublepost, but i wanted to say that the activation is now possible with the VCABT Project hack. That works now perfectly.
The only thing i wonder about is, is the mic in the headset used to recognize the voice ? Sometimes it is like still the mic in the machine is used.
I now only need a way to transfer the system audio to my headset... is that possible somehow ???
Thanks ... Thalys
@Thalys: If you'd know how to use a forum in the first place this whole thread wouldn't exist at all! It's all answered in the thread regarding the VCABT project. Since you found out about it I wonder why are posting those kinda questions...
Ok, sorry for that thread, it can be closed...
I did not read all the thread and thought that maybe another way is possible.
I now will keep an eye on the VCABT Project Thread to see if there is news to get this working...
Thanks for all your support... please Close

well, voice command automaticcaly pauses the music playback, if you push the VC-Button (Camera-Button at the moment), to listen what you have to say trough the microphone of the HEADSET! So we really need "only" a possibillity to use the Headset-Button instead of for example the camera button. Everything else works quite good.

I m using Wizard and samsung SBH100 stereo BT and it works fine for me.
I am using a Plantronics 510 BT headset, but i can't figure out how to get the voice activation working.
I beginning to think that it is not supported, read the manual and afaik it doesn't mention the subject at all.
Has anyone got it working yet?

I am not sure I understand your question but I use a SonyEricsson stereo BT headset and when I press the "answer" button on the headset (when phone is not ringing) the "Voice Speed Dial" program comes up.
It does the same with all my jabra
Yes the voice dial function to dial numbers and startup programs is what I meant.
I got it working now
Apparently I have to hold down the button for a second or two to make it work.
Next time I should try a little harder to figure it

Hi,
I've got a SE BT HBH-660 and when I push the asnwer button, I4ve got the "beep beep" in the speaker telling me that the Headset try to connect to the phone, but for some reason the Phone does not wake-up each time.
To make the voice dial working I need to ON/OFF the BT stack on the phone side.
When my SE BT headset is on and I make a phone call, not all the time the phone connect to the headset.
Did someone figure out the same behaviour ?
If yes how does it solve this ?
I've read around and discovered that the HTC wired headset button only does pick up, and hang up. By pressing it twice it redials. I understood that a long press of this button can't be assigned.
I would like to change the double press option on the wired headset to activate Microsoft Voice Command. Is there a registry hack for this?
*Bump*
Or do I have to switch to a bluetooth headset.

Unless something has changed...I think the only way to activate MSVC remotely is to use a bluetooth headset. It is a pain if you use nice sounding wired headphones and still need to drag out your phone to make a call. I can't believe WM hasn't fixed this issue. I had a voice dial button on my Sony Ericsson P800 headset from ...uh...6 years ago??? I hope someone proves me wrong because I listen to music all the time with a wired headset through an iPhone headset/mic adapter.
Here you go, all done:

Thanks. I am now able to start MVC by double pressing the button on the wired headset.
I did so, by replacing:
\Windows\redial.exe
with a copy of \Program Files\MS Voice Command\voicecmd.exe
Now I can control my MP3's and dial whomever I want without reaching for my phone.
This didn't work with bluetooth redial.
Any ideas how to change the bluetooth redial command to something else ?
Nice one... was away to post the same question.
Glad I searched first
Thanks!
