Navizon - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Have been struggling with Navizon and an inability to establish a virtual comm port in the set up. has anyone actually got Navizon working on WM5?

installs and runs fine for me, version 1.4.2.1. Never really used it though.

I can install it but am unable to set up a virtual com port - I assume you could get one selected and then interface that comm port to your mapping software? Which ROM are you running if you could? This virtual com port issue is driving me nuts

It wont work if you switch run an application that uses the COM port and doesn't close the port properly when closing, and then running Navizon. Also will not work if you have Wifi and Bluetooth GPS at same time. Also wont work if either bluetooth gps or wifi is connected when in activesync.
This is dues to limitation of Pocket PC. You can get this app off the Navizon Forums to free up a COM Port (eg IR - Do you still use that!?), however use at your own risk!!

how about ur UNIVERSAL?.
can u launch GPSPROXY 1.15?...
how u set ur virtual com?. COM 4 or 8?..or..?..
THX!!!
Do you really need the translation to Garmin format or do you just want to share the GPS by several apps?
(Note: WM5 is capable of sharing the GPS between multiple apps)
Ok, after quite a few months, someone must have succeeded in getting gpsproxy to work on universal.
I haven't!
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gpsproxy/
I always get "failed to load virtualcomport driver" error. Long long time ago, I somehow made it working on virtualcomport=0, but garmin que can't read this port.
Can someone help me on this?
Work perfectly for me. Use the latest version (1.16), set com4 in the first tab to connect to gps( set you gps output port to be com4 also in bluetooth app), set port 8 in the last tab(virtual com port number). Close the prog.
Fire your registry editor,
got to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\drivers\RegisteredDevice and delete BTD_COM8
Soft reset with a software (not the button, or modifications will be lost, or wait 10 minutes before reseting)
Launch gpsproxy again
You sould now see COM8: GPSProxy Virtual com port. If you see Com8:? it will not work. Set com8 in application tab, set your GPS Unit ID and get the best unit you can think of (except it doesn't have integrated gps).
If your gps was set on com8, invert the com 4 and 8 from my instructions.
also note that the gps must be on and in range when you launch the proxy or it will not work (error 55)
Wow man, thanks a lot! After three months, I finally got it working!
Although, I often get "failed to load virtual com port ...", but it seems that soft reset helps.
Thanks again, I owe you one
You are are the same place than other PDA. The writer of gpsproxy is thinking about a full rewrite to solve this. You will get this error if you turn off the pda without turning off the proxy.
Yeah, I'm following the progress of gpsproxy and version 2.0. I read the whole thread on bargainpda site, but didn't find good solution for my problem. Well, you solved it.
About the error, I close program correctly. First stop and then exit.

Com port mapper

Hello all,
I am looking for an application that will let me connect to a com port on my phone and transmit its data via TCP or UDP (I dont care) to a windows computer via active sync or wifi to another software that will replicate the opposite action Basically making another com port on the windows machine.
Basically I want to take com4 from my ppc (wm6) and map it to com4 on windows pc. Do you think I will have to make a custom application to do this?

Use OBD Reader for WM6

Hi,
I have an SX-66, and I used to used OBDGauge with W2003SE, the thing is I upgraded to WM6, and the program runs, but I get an error:
Error: Failed to open serial port
Does anyone know how to open a serial port under WM6?
I love this program and it works so well, I would hate to downgrade just to use it. I know it works for WM6, because a buddy of mine has the HTC Tilt and he uses the same program and it works fine for him.
If it is of any help, I use a ELM 323 connetion to serial.
If I figure it out, I will let you guys know how I did it.
--------
Also for those of you using WM6 on your SX66 with a BT GPS, I was able to connect mine when I used the BroadcomCorp_BT1.6.0.600 update.
I now connects flawlessly. Only thing is the connection takes a while to sync, like maybe 45-60 sec. I went from Miami, FL to Orlando, a 3 hour drive and it did not disconnect once. It also creates an extra Bluetooth file on my settings, but allows me to use the command manager to turn it off or on, so thats fine with me.
Do you connect your ODB reader via bluetooth?
No I connect it through data cable?
OBD WM6
If your PDA supports serial port hardware, you should open the same COM port as before? You can also use Bluetooth to read OBD data from your car : http://www.obdkey.com
Ok so everything is up and ready.
I have an ELM323 connecting to my Sx66. I am able to communicate beautifully with my Cars ECU now. Already have seen a few thing that need adjusting like my timing.
Well anyways. As soon as my wife gets home, I am going to take pictures. I will send you guys the looks. The good thing is I found the original data cable on ebay from Cingular/Siemens. It is USB and Serial, but it has an adapter to also charge it. I was worried, because my cradle did not have serial, but I know you could get an serial/usb adapter (but someone told me it would not work this way).
Anyways, upcoming plans are to do a little tweak, the same one from Youtube, called the Aximizer.
Also, one more thing are GSM attennas worth their money?

Ok....
So I am not liking something with OBDGauge, like the fact that it is a pain in the rear to get to work on my car. When I replied, it worked, now it is not. I have to diddle daddle with it until finally it works, takes 5 minutes (not very practical). I have been reading the forums and alot of people have problems with OBDgauge. I am going to install something else: If anyone you know of any programs let me know, must support WM6.
OK a heads up.
For those of you that want to do a little project you will need 3 things to get your blueangel to work with the OBDII reader in your car:
1. a serial null modem: you can find one at radio shack
2. serial cable data cable, a converter serial to usb will not work.
3. and an OBDII with elm 323 or 327, also autoenginuity has a great one package with a badass program that only works with their reader.
I am in the process of making a program with my brother-in-law for this to work with the ELM devices as we have notice that most programs are limited and do not feature things like oil pressure and miles per gallon.
I wish I knew how to create a dyno program, but I will leave it upto others to come.
I only know of two programs that work well with WM6 under the ELM that are free and they are: OBDGAUGE and ScanTest or MicroOBD.
anyways I do not know much about making a program for WM6, but my brother-in-law does. I am going to try my best with him to develop something, when I do, I will put out here for you guys to use.
I would like some new tips if possible so that we do not have to struggle too much.

How does your buddy connect his tilt to the OBDII reader, is there some bluetooth serial adapter involved? I have a Kaiser (and can't believe that the Tilt has a serial port or USB host) and am currently looking for exactly the same thing to do.
Any updates of apps för OBD reading?
Or just the same old same old apps?
OBDGauge and MicroOBD

I would like to know also. I have a bluetooth ELM327 device that connects fine to my Palm Lifedrive, but when I try with the Tilt running WM6 I get the "failed to open serial port" window. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks
[edit] I did some more searching and found this post series at ATT's wireless site: http://forums.wireless.att.com/t5/HTC/HTC-Tilt-bluetooth-sync/td-p/1408041
QUOTE: Did you create an outgoing COM port on your phone? You then have to go into ActiveSync's options on the desktop (File-Connection Settings) and check the checkbox that says "Allow connections on " and select that port # in the pulldown menu. At least, that's how I do it in XP.

I think I'm having the same problem... basically, I follow the instructions and still cannot sync. Here is what I see AFTER I pair the devices:
1. On PC (XP w/ all the updates), Bluetooth--> QuickConnect --> Serial Port does not have Tilt device in the pull down menu and when I "Find Device" it cannot find the device (remember, tilt and PC already paired)
2. On PC w/ ActiveSync4.2, I tried to CONNECT using "Connection Setting" and cannot find the Tilt.
3. On PC MyBluetoothPlace, I only see the following "services",
a. Dial-Up
b. Network Access Point
c. Voice Gateway
4. On Tilt, I only see the following services;
a. Wireless Stereo
b. Serial Port
c. Dial Networking
d. Headset
Help!
END QUOTE. Admittedly, this is originally dealing with ActiveSync, but I did discover the "New Outgoing Port" setting inside the Settings/Bluetooth folder. Click on COM ports. Select the device you wish to add (mine is called CBT). Hit next and select a COM port (I am using 5). I am going to test in the truck. Eureka! It works! Make sure the com port you select in OBDGauge preferences is the same you assigned to the BT ELM interface, and it should connect and start scanning. Hope this helps.

no longer able to bluetooth dun after 3.35

Ive tried and tried wmodem and pdanet but they no longer work for me tethering between my mac and my mogul via bluetooth with the new htc 3.35 rom. When I click unable bluetooth DUN on pdanet it says "unable to assign com port please make sure com7 or com4 is available on your device. bluetooth dun will remain off (err=2404)".
can someone help?
thanks
Juts a guess but the new radio assigns Com4 to the GPS which may be why PDANet has an issue.
My guess is PDANet will have to be updated to be a bit more flexible on which com port it wants.
PDAnet was working for me...

I did have it working without any mods. Then, it quit working. In my case, I had installed ICS, which I never did get working. Then, PDAnet stopped working. I tried removing/reinstallong (after uninstallling ICS), to no avail. I may just reflash the phone to get it all back to original components, and try PDAnet again.
I have the same issue with the new ROM and the "USB modem" program from www.mobile-stream.com. When I set it to "Connection: Bluetooth" and click "Enable" it doesn't turn on.

It's easy enough to move the internal GPS to COM5, and the GPS works fine that way. So that will free up COM4 for PDANet. Unfortunately, it still won't make Bluetooth DUN work. The only way that I've been able to tether is through a wired PDANet connection. That works fine.
Gil - You using XP, Vista or something else?
I noticed that on Vista you can not get BTDUN (even on the stock roms) unless you were operating under an administrator account or stopped the BT tools in Vista and ran them under the administrator account.
For that reason I have always tethered via USB and skipped trying to do it via BT...though BT would be much cooler...

I'm on XP. DUN over BT worked fine using PDANet on the old ROM. But on the new ROM it doesn't work at all.
The wired connection is faster anyway, so I'd always prefer that. But sometimes it's handy to be able to do it wirelessly.
I finally got BT DUN working with the USB Modem app from www.mobile-stream.com. I changed the Mogul GPS port to COM3 but BT DUN still didn't work. I had to remove the BT pairing with the phone from the computer, then enable BT DUN from the USB Modem app THEN re-pair with the phone with the app running. This time it detected the dial-up BT service on the phone and after I completed the pairing, I was able to dial #777 normally.
Also the speed was much faster than the speed with ICS BT PAN. I was getting ~500kbps with BT PAN and I'm getting 1100kbps+ with BT DUN.

ActiveSync Over Bluetooth

I'm having a hard time getting my Titan to be able to activesync over wireless with bluetooth. I've read every "how to" and everything is pretty straight forward, I just run into a few problems when things don't happen the way they should be according to the walk throughs.
Problem number 1: When pairing for the first time, Either from the Titan or from the PC. THe list of services on the Titan are, Wireless Stereo, Serial Port, and Headset. I've never seen an activesync service pop up when pairing, tried refreshing the services a few times and still no luck. On the PC end, I can select it as a service and it will create a bluetooth com port. Great. But still no activesync profiles =\.
Problemy number 2: So I tick the Serial Port option on the titan and try to add a new port that matches the one created by my bluetooth stack. Most of the time it is com4. I try making a new com 4 port on the PPC, and it says it cannot be created.... ugh... The only ports that it looks like I can make are 8 and 9. So after playing around with a few settings I manage to a bluetooth serial port on com 8. So everything *should* be in order. Activesync settings of allow connections... on com8, Windows Mobile shows I have an outgoing com8 and my BT stack shows my port is on com8. still, no luck.
I read somewhere that a certain build had issues with Activesync over bluetooth. Not sure when build I have. I'm using No2Chems 5069k build. Not a single problem until I couldn't get this working and noticed a few things weren't happening the way they should. Any ideas? Does that build just have bluetooth issues? cause I know a few of the 5069 series had bluetooth problems.
THanks!
Have you had the devices syncing before (with the USB cable)?
Try this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=AS_BT
You need to create a COM Port on the PC first, and then initiate the connection between the two devices.
