Problems ringing people back

This seems to happen quite often, I ring one of my friends and he doesnt answer (i hang up when it hits voicemail) .. because hes sometimes left his phone in another room etc.. i ring back but it just hangs up straight away. Says dialing for a split second then hangs up. Ive tried ringing back for a good while, its not a delay on o2 as it stays the same till i soft reset.
Any ideas?.. im using the latest rom from o2
I don't know what causes it, but I think what you've described happens to me every now and again. Not very often, but by coincidence it happened yesterday.
You try and make a call and it immediately plays the hangup sound and the call is aborted. A soft reset cleared the problem for me and always has in the past. I would be very interested to find out the cause.

I get exactly the same problem quite frequently, i found the only way around, other than a reboot, was to manually dial the number rather than use the speeddial or phone book,
O2 have really got to do some debugging of the firmware on these things, At the moment i certainly wont be keeping it once my 12 months contract is up in 4 months time

UK O2 ROM 1.72.187 Hanged and hard reset twice in 2 days

I got a serious problem with this rom.
My xda2 hanged (can't switch on) twice and hard reset when I plugged the power supply.
Anybody had the same terrible experience.....
I suspected it's the bluetooth problem cause I started using my bluetooth headset again last few days....but not sure....anybody got some clue????
Cheers,
Chris
After upgrading to this .187 O2 ROM, My XDA II is really slow all over the place. I deleted the O2 Active User Interface thing and that seemed to stop it from being slow when turning it on and off.
Yeah, happenned to me too... hard reset twice in 2 days!!...just after upgrade to this rom...
My xdaii just didn't react to anything, not even the power button, so i did a soft reset... but it did a hard reset instead :s.
after that i changed to a belgian ROM (1.72 too) BUT kept the radio from the O2... and i wasn't able to send/receive sms after that, so i completeley installed the belgian rom to get rid of the O2 one.
see my post about it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12656
EDIT : looks like other people have a proble with the ON/OFF button under this rom... http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12690 :| [/url]
The issue of the Xda II not responding to anything but hard reset happened to me two or three times, but I was on 1.60.44WWE.
The first time, I reinstalled almost everything to see if a particular program crashed the unit.
The second time, I narrowed it down to GPRS Tweak ... but still it happened.
The last time, I took out a program called SpaceReclaimer, that clears away cached & temporary files ... and this time, perhaps it was pure luck but the problem hasn't occurred since, it's been more than 6 months now.
I have no solutions, but just to share my experience and compare notes, perhaps the new ROM came with an app which messes with system files in background and causes this to happen. Well, at least that's what I suspected what happened to mine as I remember using SpaceReclaimer quite often before those hard resets.
Hi all,
I was wondering whether you have installed any program after the ROM upgrade or not? Coz I have no problem with my customized .187 ROM at all (what I have removed all UK O2 CABs, put some HK and AUS network settings and edited the config.txt). It works like a charm! The only 2 possible reasons I can think of for your problem would be 1) program(s) installed after ROM upgrade or 2) ROM is not correctly customized/upgraded. If worst comes to worst, phone is still messing up, try to do a SD-card ROM recover and redo the upgrade.
Hope my opinions can give you guys some hints on how to fix the problem.
Cheers!

O2 XDA IIi applications closing all by themselves

Dear Friends,
I have been using this device since last July. Recently its started giving me trouble. When I open an application and start using it, suddenly the today screen comes up. If I am dialing out, after the first or second ring, the dialor closes. When I get calls from outside, the phone rings for 2-3 times and them suddenly closes! What could be the problem?

try upgrade your phone, hope it will solve your problem...
I did a reinstall and its resolved now.

**Very important, no text or calls!

so maybe like an hour ago, my phone decided to stop working. i've restarted twice and deleted texts. my text messages just sit in the out going box. one friend got the message 8 times, but my phone said it hadn't even sent yet. i also only sent it once. so i'm worried as to how many times my other friend got a message that i've sent about 5 times.
i tried calling 2 people and it wont connect. is it my phone or it t-mobile being weird? i really need my phone as i have a date tonight, so if i could get some help fast that would be wonderful. i do not want to do a hard reset and lose everything, but if that is what needs to be done i guess i can do it.
Unfortunately, when a phone starts acting up, if soft reseting doesn't work, a hard reset is usually the only answer. Unless it's phone hardware issues...
You can try to uninstall tweaks and programs and see if it's one of them causing the problem... have you changed your ROM radio by any chance?
it fixed itself after about 2 hours
