Hi!
Anyone could help me out!?
I place a file "powerstatus" into the startup folder.. What I can do to remove the file inorder to prevent it from starting up. I can't delete while its running and I there is no option for me to close it when its on. ... . Only way is delete it from startup folder.. . but how to i close the file??
Pls help ..
Rename the link in startup, softreset, then delete the link in startup, delete the file as well if you dont need it.
and if you put an exe file in startup (not sure if you can do that but)
then you just remove it from program.exe to program.exe.uncle
then softreset it
unless you use the extention uncle for something else it should just fail to start and then you can delete it
I have tired to rename it, but no use. tried to cut it out, no use, tried to overwrite with a blank startup folder, no use too..
Yes, its an exe file, anyway to close program that is not reflected on "running program" ?
The "Powerstatus" is running, but I cant find a way to close it, I have tired the program which make the PDA go into safe mode, but can't work
I am using WM2005.
Any expert with any solutions?
Thanks very much in advance. .. .
Move the Startup folder to somewhere else My Documents for example and reset.
Afterwhich you can delete the file and replace the Startup folder back in Windows directory.
tried that before.. The startup folder with the "powerstatus" will still be there even thou i cut the whole thing out. Plus, cos the file is running, i cannot delete, move, overwrite it. . . so i think need a way to close it...
Anyone know how to close programs that is running in the background where it will not show on the "Running Program"?
Happens to me but use the resco file explorer to rename the files, softreset ( prompts you ''theres no application associated with ''powerstatus.exe''....), tap start(repeat until the menu drops) then open again the resco file explorer, goto windows/startup and delete the file.
EASY....
yeah it could be a fileexplore thing ms's filemanagers like to protect people from extentions which is why many people use reso or totalcommander
Kill the process in memory
Can't you just kill the process in memory?
Read our tutorial about killing the Brador trojan:

I'm interested!
What about renaming the startup folder to something else and soft reset?
Safemode
Download and install "Safemode"
Soft reset your device
Just after the device restarts, tap on the upper part of the screen: your device starts in "safemode"
Delete whatever you want from the startup folder
Soft reset, and let the device start normally (without tapping on the upper part of the screen)
After every softreset the link to the Sim Toolkit is recreated in the startmenu -> programs folder. This is really annoying as I just don't use this program. Is there any way maybe in the registry to prevent it from being created? I am using the newest official T-Mobile GER ROM but i already had this problem with the first ROM that was installed.
I have the same problem!
i want to disable the stk menu from WM5
Did anyone tell me how to do?
Ok, I got an idea. Might sound stupid and is not the most ellegant solution but it will work: Why don't we put together a little program that deletes the shortcut and we put this program in the startup folder? This way the icon won't reappear after each soft-reset.
Can anybody here do this for me? Just a simple little program to delete the file. The one which needs to be deleted is:
\\Windows\Startmenü\Programme\Special.lnk
Thank you so much!
there is no stk.lnk shortcut in my windows\startup folder
but my stk menu is automatic start! why?
Hi there,
I'm having the same problem, in that there is a link to the STK appearing in my programs folder on each reset. I have tried deleting and moving the icon, setting it to 'hidden', and altering the registry setting (\\Windows\Startmenu\Programmes\O2.lnk (it's slightly different to the example in an above post, but it does link to STK)) to place it in a sub-folder called Phone (i.e. \\Windows\Startmenu\Programmes\Phone\O2.lnk), but on each reset my changes are removed.
Has anyone got any ideas how to permanently remove this - or at least how it is being recreated each reset? Is it installed as part of the O2 Active software?
Cheers all
Rory

It's in the start up folder. Go to Windows/start-up, delete the file from there by tap/hold/delete from the pop up box. It sounds like this is the Mobialarm program where the alarm is a MP3. This needs to be installed on the device, and not the SD card. Double tap the cab in the zip, then tap the install file in the zip. You should be fixed up now.

This is the mobilarm free program where you select a windows song or other song, correct? If so, the program is not completely installed and according to the notification, the program is in "program files" folder in main memory. Mine is a separate folder named MobiAlarm located on the page where program files, my documents, storage card, etc. is found. When I open the MobiAlarm folder, this is what appears. (mobialarm pict) screen shot. Notice at very top AlarmEN. Does this appear in your folder?
ok I made it! by manualy remove the program:
First delete all created alarms in the program1
Delete the folder "enAlarmPPC..." in your programs directory
Delete the shortcut from the startmenu in "\Windows\startmenu\programs\"
Delete the shortcut from the start up folder in "\Windows\autostart\"
Delate folder "HKCU/Software/end.net/enAlarmPPC"
thanks hotdog53 for your help.

What is a good free startup software program? You know something like msconfig but for wm6(touch screen devices)? Thanks
canceled sorry
you can do it manualy by opening the windows directory with any explorer prog like total command or resco explorer and then go to startup folder
there you will see the list of the programs which startup with windows
delete what you want to remove
i hope that was useful for you
cheers

use memmaid.. it has a start-up editing feature that enables you to:
add/delete startup items
temporarily disable start-up of certain apps
configure/enable/disable startup services (dlls, drivers, etc.. not just programs/exes)
perfect thank you.
Update
I have now created a CAB for the script.
It will install a link to the program in Programs under the Start Menu.
IMPORTANT: You need to have MortScript installed. There is a CAB in \Program Files\HideFolder. If you already have MortScript you can delete this CAB.
The new cab is at the end of this post.

Hiding folders from HTC Album has been discussed elsewhere, maybe for different reasons than mine !
When I select 'Storage Card' a list of folders appear that have no interest to me and do not contain any images that are mine.
I have written a script that allows you to Show or Hide folders from HTC Album. I included the ability to 'Show' folders in the event that you may want to temporarily hide a folder but re-enable it at some point.
You need to have Mortscript installed on your device !
Unzip the file and copy to your device.
When you run the script you will be given a choice whether you want to:
1) Show a Folder
2) Hide a Folder
3) Exit the Script
When you select Show or Hide you will then be asked to select the folder.
If you select Show: A previously hidden folder will be enabled (If the folder is not hidden you will get a message informing you of the error)
A confirmation message will be displayed and you are done.
If you select Hide: The selected folder will now be hidden from HTC Album (If the folder is already hidden you wil get a message informing you of the error)
A confirmation message will be displayed and you are done.
I've run the script in as many combinations as I can think of and all seems to work, please let me know if there is something I hae missed.
CAB Now available see above.
Thanks for such a necessary utility, I was actually looking for this for some days now...I needed this... you know to hide some things when your is taken over by some enthusiast who wants to check out everything in it and occasionally press wrong links....
This app. does its work what it supposed to do but I have Resco photo manager installed the hidden folder is visible in this photo manager...is there a way it could be hidden to resco as well.
great,
is this also possible for HTC Music Player ß
I don´t want to see my ringtones and others on the SD card.
thanks
I edit the registry to hide the folders. This saves me a lot of work. Simple enough. Thanks

I am sorting myself out and will try to help where I can in the next few days.
Apologies and thanks in adavnce for your understanding.
Hide more then one folder????
it seems as if i can only hide 1 folder and not multipl folders. How can I hide multiple different folders? When i attempt to do another folder the error always says this folder is already hidden and its not.
