hi all
had this problem for alittle while not and I'm out of ideas!
Basically I have two messenger accounts, but since about a week ago, I cannot sign into the one I use most when I use pocket msn. All I get is the login failed message.
I haven't added any new software or changed anything else. Was wondering if anyone else had encountered a similar problem or even had a solution.
have tried soft resets and would prefer not to have to do a hard reset if at all possible.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try signing in via WIFI. I believe t-mobile is blocking msn.
Surur
If they are I've just managed to sign in to MSN messenger with a GPRS connection on t-mobileuk.

I am able to sign in on my other msn a/c so I don't think they're blocking msn.........
Anybody??
Is this using Web & Walk? As T-Mobile expressly state this is currently against the T&C's it's not hard to imagine that they are making an attempt to block it.

As I said and even charms who is having the problem stated, they are not blocking access to MSN, we are both able to sign in with one account, I don't have another account to check with but charms does and is not able to sign into his second account. I think this is probably more to do with a problem in pocketmsn configuration rather than anything sinister coming from t-mobile.
Still no joy with a resolve
Anybody got a suggestion? I used to be able to sign in it just stopped working. I notice a few others have had a similar prob - has nobody got any suggestion?
Pretty please!! lol
MSN and Yahoo Messengers trying to charge SMS rates?
After reading Charms' post, I started wondering whether my PocketPC Messenger sign-ons are being blocked by my Thailand data-servicer provider DTAC, or else by MSN's exchange server. Either way, I refuse to sign up to pay for online chat messages as SMS messages. Heck nay, we won't pay!
I was using Pocket MSN Messenger every day during January and February, and then suddenly my sign-on was blocked for no reason. The error message varies between "Service not available" and "Username and/or password do not exist," but I can still sign on from fullsize computers.
I had already installed the Pocket MSN Messenger security update for WM2003SE and the 128-bit encryption and it worked fine afterward. The sign-on failures started without any change in software or other functionality.
My research on Google indicates that Yahoo may have colluded with Microsoft to simultaneously begin blocking Pocket Messenger users from text-chatting until they sign up with their mobile service providers to pay for the chat messages as SMS text messages. Outrageous!!! Yahoo in early 2005 withdrew its server support for Yahoo Pocket Messenger and refused to process any further Yahoo PocketPC Messenger chat connections thru its servers. Has MSN started doing the same?
MSN and Yahoo both now ask users to sign up with the user's GPRS/phone service provider for Messenger chat capability, with an SMS charge for each chat message that is sent! An outrageous market ploy that should be crushed by consumer opposition, IMHO. Text chats are just like any other data and should be included in the data service charge, just like before. I tried the alternate PocketPC Messenger programs IM+ and AgileMessenger but I found out that other users also report AgileMessenger being blocked by the Yahoo exchange servers.
MSN now charging how much to "activate" Pocket Mes
Okay, after I just posted my first message, I looked at another thread and downloaded the latest MSN Messenger from Microsoft. The License requires you to agree to whatever charges may be applied by your phone/data service provider. After installing, it asks you to continue on to "activate" your Messenger installation:
"After verifying that Pocket MSN has downloaded on your mobile device, click Next to activate your Pocket MSN account. You will be prompted to sign in and provide credit card information on the next page."
But the next page comes up blank. WTF? How much are they trying to charge, and is it a yearly fee from MS or a per-message fee from the data service provider?
I had already "activated" online several months ago, with no result. Still can't log on with Pocket Messenger although my notebook computer logs on just fine.

Hi,
This maybe intresting to someone, ive not tryed the 30 trial as i have no use for live email.
Got a PDA, Pocket PC or Smartphone? With Fasthosts Livemail you could already get Outlook® email from your home, office computer or any internet-connected browser... but now you can also get it on your mobile device thanks to the exclusive GoodLink data push software available with all new Livemail packages.
With GoodLink, Livemail can now push email, contacts and schedule data directly to your hand-held device in real-time, just like a BlackBerry. Any activity like new mail, meeting requests or changes to your schedule are recognised immediately and displayed on your screen as they happen.
Retrieving email on your hand-held will keep you constantly informed of the day's developments, helping you to recover hours of lost communication time. What's more, all mailbox data is stored centrally on a secure server in one of Fasthosts' cutting-edge UK data centres, so even if you lose or change your computer or hand-held device - all your email, contacts and schedule data is fully backed up.
Find out more about Livemail with GoodLink data push at:
http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/email/
I tried it - managed to work fairly well until I decided I wanted to uninstall it as the goodlink software overrides all of your existing accounts.
Didn't really bother reading a manual on uninstalling it as I just tried to remove it from remove Programs - didn't want to go - reset it to make sure no components were running when I next tried it - it said it had uninstalled it but there were still lots of residual evidence it had been there.
Eventually hard-reset and had to start from scratch again.
Don't get me wrong, I think it would be fantastic - one issue though - you do need to tell them a domain you wish them to receive mail for - didn't see an option to receive mail from an account forwarder.
If you already have a domain, this means transferring your domain record (or possibly just the MX record) to fasthosts.
I pay a monthly sub to 4smartphone.net - the service is excellent. Fully hosted exchange account that'll support "proper" push as soon as the device can be updated to support it.
I was told you cant pay monthly for 4smartphone you have to pay a year upfront
Chris
Thats also what I thought - I had signed up for a trial account and was told it needs a year to continue service.
erm you're right - year up front, but I look at it in terms of what it equates to per month... sorry for misleading
he he - no worries mate.
Have 4smartphone definitely confirmed they'll be supporting the push technology once the devices support it?
Am i confused here with this push email, i set up 4smartphone trial and when an email is received it sends a message to an email address that it has received mail, i set this up so an sms was sent to my phone from that email account when the mail arrived from 4smartphone, this activated my device to contact the server and get the mail, isnt this push email, the only problem was i had to pay for the sms triggers and it was costing a fortune to do it, what we need is the subscription to 4smartphone that sends a text message rather than an email at a reasonable cost
Guys enlighten me please
I thought the very same - O2 charge me 10p per SMS but I couldn't find any clear providers who would do the same for cheaper. Most providers were on about sending SMSes rather than allowing you to receive via their systems.
From what's been said, once the new update comes out with the push technology, the requirement for SMSes goes out the window as this is one of the things the exchange developers wanted to get rid of - reliance on the network provider.
All you need is a network connection of some sort (be it wifi, gprs, cradled) and it should receive the updates.

I think so, yes. In fact I think they've already upgraded their exchange servers to the correct service pack - so we're just waiting on an operator to bring out a ROM for the Universal which incorporates the Windows Messaging and Security patch for WM5.0
To the others - yes, you can set it up to text you if you receive email etc. Personally I just leave mine to check every 10 mins (which, lets face it, is practically instant "push" anyway!) as on average I receive a new mail less than 5 mins after it is sent. The data overhead is minimal this way and no texts are needed.
another push email 30 day free trial
i have tried another email push service for pocket pcs. it is called Pocket X-Press. you can access your pop3 and imap4 mail server and get a realtime push wit out checking from device in an interval.
you can download a trial version for wm 2003 and 2005 under: www.pocketxpress.com
has anybody experience made with this?
you tell us mate, you developed it
Greetings all,
I upgraded my 8125 to the Qtek ROM via summiter's ROM upgrade tool, (worked perfectly, thanks summiter!) and I enabled push email.
Since I didnt have and Exchange server, I signed up for one with 4smartphone.net after reading about them in PocketPC Mag. Anyone use them? there's a 15 day trial, but they couldnt get my account setup right after calling them 3 times and about 4 hours wait, then it seemed to work, push email worked great..
Now this morning, they're server is unresponsive again.. jsut wondering if anyone uses them and what their experiance with them is.. i'm not to happy with them right now..
I would also be interested in this. I need to find a good shared exchange provider and I am thinking about going with Intermedia.net.
I wasn't happy with the response I got on a pre-sales query. So I used 1and1.co.uk instead.
They provide push mail (but don't list it) and support a multi-domain email. The only down side is that they don't provide spam filtering. But I figured out how to block it (spam) via filtering.

I have been using 4smartphone for about a month w/o difficulty -- I use Outlook rules to send copies of all my office mail to 4smartphone which then pushes them to my k-jam. Only negative in this is that all the msg. come in with my name and address as the sender (no prob changing this if I use reply but it is an extra step). Service is quite fast and so far w/o problems in either direction.
well, just got an email from them about the server outage, with them profusely apologising.. at least they're letting their customers know about it..
another thing i didnt really like is you have to pay for a full year up front.. although right now i'm diggin' the fact that i get push email(tested i get an email within 15 seconds of it being sent), and also that my Outlook on my laptop and my 8125 are fully synced.. if i read it on my 8125, it's listed as read on my laptop and vice versa, so i dont have to re-read anything or whatever.. pretty slick.. they also sync contacts, tasks, calendar, etc too..
they have a 15 day trial, so im gonna give it another week or so and see how it goes..
Just signed up for this at mail2 web. I used to use them ages ago just to check a couple of pop3 accounts at work, but they are doing a beta of a free hosted Exchange service. Even better is that you can get a personal Exchange account for $1.99 a month. You need to create an email address with them, but you can link other pop3 accounts to it as well.
http://services.mail2web.com/FreeServices/m2wLive/
What I like about 4smartphone.net is that when you send mail through them, it will show as your own pre-set email address and not [email protected].
I just finished the trial and signed up for their Express service. I think you can get your money back (pro rata) if you cancel before your subscription expires.
I was considering 1and1.co.uk or 1and1.com too, but couldn't be asked to change all the settings.
I've been using 4smartphone since January and so far I am very happy with them. I have sent about 4 emails to tech support and I received responses within a few hours and they were very helpful. They even verified that my account switched from SMS notification to direct push when I asked (after I upgraded).
I really like using them, so much so that I got the company I work for to sign up with 4smartphone. There are a total of 9 people at my work. Great customer service and a great price.
I just setup a mail2web account and had some problems getting either the txt message based push to work or the direct push to work.
After I contacted them they told me this functionality hasn't been installed and will be done over the next week.
good service
I used 4smartphone when i was working from my office at home and the service was good. I am in a 30+ staff office now and we use Intermedia which is great to. I've got my email set up on my blackberry and you can check your email through outlook on the web which is convenient as well.
Hi! I Would like to use push email service for my personal email account but i dont have an exchange server neither i can afford one...are there any free push email service providers or even paid would do, but i want real time push email, not the one which requires client to b installed on pocket pc..please help..i have wm5 on jasjar..
there are tons of posts about push email. your question is too vague to answer. please search and ask a more specific question. yes there are free push email services. i don't know what they are.
Try:
http://www.seven.com/products/consumers/index.html
i was a smartner duality customer for a while before seven bought them on both a wm2003se and a smartphone. then company stuck me with a blackberry and i used it for a while. when i got sick of it i tried to get the seven version of the smartner software they distribute. well, i am an exchange user with a large exchange installation and no IT support for one off configurations like mine. when i went through seven CS they were rather slow but knowledgeable, too knowledgeable it seemed they were asking for stuff i had no idea what it was. anyway the seven software couldn't access my global adress list. and the problem never was resolved. since then we found BB connect SW for WM5 and it works so i get to use my company BB pushmail account on my uni with email and calendar. i don't know if the seven consumer stuff works but the enterprise didn't for me. and customer service is slow to respond to single users (why all the email redirector comanies dissapeared, too much support for too little money).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=268605&highlight=smartner
you can try web2mail.com
Hope somebody can help me as this is driving me crazy, can't find a way to solve it and have found absolutely nothing about it on the web.
I have a HTC Hermes running WM6 (the Elf ROM with Crackberry support) with BBC 4.0.
BBC had been working amazingly. Until I decided to reinstall BBConnect to test something (how's that saying go ... "if it works ...").
Now I get the following problem: a PopUp saying 'Service Book Management' with the message 'Device message store limit reached. You must delete a message store to use service "[email protected]" ' and gives me the option to Retry or Cancel....
Yes, it does get solved when I delete the problem account.
But hey, I dont want to delete the account, I want to check it on my phone! And it was working perfectly before. The problem account is one of the two pop3 accounts I have set up on my blackberry internet service ... a Gmail account ... I tried deleting it and trying with a different one ... but no, the same problem comes up with any pop3 account I try to set up after the first one.
When opening up messaging, I can see the following accounts: Text messages, [email protected], blackberry, [email protected]1, MMS.
I think the cause to this problem may be related to Windows Live ... but I have already deleted the Windows Live account (through the registry) as wel as the Outlook account ... and nothing.
The strangeundeletable account is another pain in the A ... sent to my device every time I provision my HTC with the Entreprise Blackberry account through the Blackberry Desktop ... but lets leave that for another thread.
Anybody any ideas?
Ive been racking my brain with this to no avail!!!!
PLEASE HELP!
try cancel the email account on the blackberry page then reinstal BBC 4 and after that readd the accounts + send service books
Oh, I've reinstalled BBC 4 about 15 times in the past 24hs.
No luck whatsoever.

I been trying to get my email working on my Touch pro for 2 months on Metropcs with no luck. You are really asking this question on the wrong site Xda is not that big on CDMA Touch pro's things like roms and stuff. You really need to go Here. I hope you find your answer. I gave up and sold my touch pro 3 weeks ago and got a Htc Pure.

You probably don't have the email data option on your plan try and access your hotmail through wap if it works but outlook doesn't it's your plan.
so in my case i can't get activesync to work, but i can manually sync another gmail account and a co.uk email account via imap in outlook.
i am indeed on the 45 dollar plan. (sans "corporate email and full html" browsing.
might the $50 smartphone plan fix activesync?
additionally, would it fix my connectivity errors with skype, palringo and opera mobile?
it features "full html browsing" so am i right to assume the smartphone connection plan bypasses metro's proxy?
Having all the same problems as above poster but also i can send mms but not receive.
