Would someone be interested in this? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi all,
i was thinking about a software that would be a mix up between a callerID (caller2Picture) style software and a call-sms blocking engine.
Wouldn't it be awesome to have ?
I searched for something similar but no results so far.
I only found out a topic opened this days at
http://www.teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37
they are wainting for some ideas about what we expect from this kind of software
They promissed to monitor this thread also... so lets give them something to work on

You should try Inesoft AddressBook.

The Caller ID part is very nice but the block call doesn't satisfy my needs and many others arround here...A white/black list would be more apropiate for me also the posibility to send an SMS after i block a call, a log of blocked calls...

I would like something like a mix between what Mort and Morphy started to develop here if you followed their topics

Stop reporting canceled calls as missed

Hello everyone,
There is a WM feature that really bugs me: After canceling an incoming call (eg, by pressing the "red" button), that call is reported as missed.
Besides causing a missed call notification (Isn't that stupid? I know that I didn't answer that call!!!) entries are added in the missed calls list so, when in a later time you check the list, you have to remember which calls were actually canceled by you, since that entries seem just like the "real" missed ones.
So, I wonder, does anybody know a way to "fix" this and make it behave more like the Nokia devices(there, the canceled calls are reported as incoming, but with zero duration)?
thanx,
hypest
Hi,
Even with TAPI or RIL, "how" the call was dropped is not available, which means the only way to do this is to replace the system dialer with a custom dialer
Not aware of any replacement that handles this though!
This has always drove me nuts. I brought this up on Howard Forums and got nowhere. No idea if some of the geniuses could fix this or not but I am sure it bugs a ton of people.
I would love to have this fixed as well. It's never made sense to me.
It's comforting (to me) to see that other users as well, find this "feature" useless/annoying/stupid. I'm afraid that a custom dialer would probably work (a one that monitors, for example, the hardware keys to detect call cancellation) but would be a hack for sure.
M$+HTC are certainly not inclined to satisfy such feature/bug corrections (and backport them to existing devices), so again, I rest my hopes to an open source OS to enable the community (and adventurous individuals) to implement/correct such things!
Not a useful post, I know... but I had to let it steam out a bit

help:the staff related to mobile shell

Hi, all genius, I am now confronting one problem about the mobile shell.
We all see the three icons of Email, test messenger as well as the missed call. But when we tap any of them, they lead us to the default interface of such email/test inbox or the missed call interface.
I am wondering all of these days can we just customize it so as to launch the program one needs. For instance, I have been trying all the day on the reg, the ***.dat and sth else to launch the vito sms-chat by tapping the middle icon, but failed.
Anyone has any hint or solution for this problem?
thx a lot~
so why dont you post that in one of the hundred mobilshell treads and open thread 101 ? do you think this is usefull for us if everyone with one qestion opens his own thread on a developers page !!!
thx any way, I will re-post it there

App to stop accidental touch answer

I don't know if anybody else has this problem with their diamond... but I was sitting at my desk the other day, with my diamond on the desk in it's case.
Then i heard voices, I thought I was going mad at first but I think I've found a small design flaw with the case that's provided... There's a piece of elasticated fabric inside the case which stops the phone from dropping out the other end. This was pressing on my screen exactly in the right place to answer a call. I didn't touch it and the phone was screen-up in it's case on my desk.
The question has been posed before, "How can I disable the incoming call notification on the screen?". And so far, as far as I can tell, it's not been answered. So here I am, determined to do something about it.
If anybody has any ideas regarding this... including in the development of some software to solve the problem, please post them here. I am a software developer myself and I intend to write an application to solve this problem and share it with you all.
My initial ideas are:
Find the notification/message/service responsible for popping up the Incoming Call window
or... Subclass the Incoming Call window when it appears to disable the answer button
er... that's about it so far actually.
So guys any help would be great
Regards
John

I don't know if you are looking for that I'm thinking of, but search the Forum for
[APP][Oct 11th, 2008] Answerkeys Disabler (v0.5.1)
I think that is what you are looking for!
Works fine on my device (MDA Compact IV) with original ROM.
And of course touchlockpro...
Are you telling me I spent all that time writing this thread and there's already an application.... ..... .. . .... damn.
Thanks for the reply though guys, I'll check those out.

[Q]/[REQ]silence/vibrate to ring via sms

Saw yesterdays American dad episode when Stan was searching for his phone which he had lost, and he had set it to vibrate mode and therefore he could not call the phone... his wife "said" something smart
"why cant you just invent like a code, you dial the phone and enter the code and it switches to another profile" something like that...
Now a phone-call couldn't be possible, but how about via a text-message?
I'm not a programmer so i don't know the limitations of the API(?) in the TD but it should be possible i.e scan a (incoming) text-message for a specific code and then call a function to switch profile / turn up the volume
well well, just an idea thrown out
to all programmers and chefs @ XDA - just love the work you're doing!
Remote Tracker
You mean an application like Remote Tracker?
You could ask someone with knowledge of that app to help you out, or maybe it already exists!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394203
already exists. smsRunner
hello !
@fnotsje
thank for the tip about remote tracker, but I already have it in subscribed threads, maybe going to the first page a little more often is something I'll have to work on
@bbobeckyj
thank you for the tip, will check it out
*note to self - search a few times extra when in middle of the night*

Caller Area Code Display

Is there an application that will display the caller's location, based on area code (or something like that)?
I did a search on this site and found a thread about a year old, on this topic. Someone was developing it, but I couldn't figure out if it would work well with the HD2. It should also work for call waiting, not delay the ringer, and play nice with other Sense tweaks like Co0kies Home Tab and others.
Anything in the works?
Thanks for any info.
