just upgrade to WM6 and use the Internet Sharing function which is infinitely better than the Wireless Modem utility

I am using XDAII Mini (i-Mate Jam) and trying to figure out how to browse the internet using my Apple Powerbook's active Wi-Fi connection.
The only way I can communicate with my Powerbook is using bluetooth. But as you know, the XDAII Mini's bluetooth software does not allow you to activesync with bluetooth nor allows you to create a network connection with bluetooth. And the later function is very necessary to successfully connect to my Powerbook.
In the new PDAs using Pocket PC 2003 you can find a very good bluetooth software (originally iincluded) which allows you to do the above.
I'm still trying to solve this problem and need any inputs.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers.
Hello,
With ActiveSync, it does let you to connect and synchronze and get an internet connection. Unfortunately that depends from the software you're using the sync.
Usually we have an icon where you can specify if to enable 'Pass-Thru' when the PDA is connected to 'Work' or 'Internet'

Eman

Anybody used the wmodem successfully with the pc before with magician through USB?
I always get an error 734. If i try to use the windows dialer and turned on the terminal, i see lots of garbage.
I also want to use the wmodem to connect to CSD line instead of GPRS... i mean by using windows dialer dialing the magician to connect to the internet.
My purpose is to dial-up to my customer's site using my XDA II Mini but use my computer's PC Anywhere to troubleshoot their computer... right now i can't do anything.
Appreciate if anyone knows whats wrong and why i can't even connect to the GPRS through wmodem. I have no problem if connect it directly using the device even with CSD lines.
Dear Friends ;
I am using Mac osx 10.4.10 along with my o2 xda trion. I like to use my PPC as bluetooth modem and connect to internet via gprs but i can not manage it. Is there any one who has a idea how to make this ?? I will be highly appreciated if you can reply me back.
PS: I am using WM6 Pro on my PPC..
Thank you

What you want is to 'tether' you kjam to you PC/laptop, using it as a modem.
Search the Wizard forums for 'modem' in the title, or 'tether' in the entire posts.
I use WMWifiRouter, though it isn't free (19.99 euros). You can share GPRS over USB or WiFi (and maybe bluetooth, I forget). It also can share a WiFi connection over USB, which is occasionally useful.
I use it over USB to my laptop with Ubuntu most of the time. I think you might be able to do that with normal Internet connection sharing... But I still love WMWifiRouter.
