hello
i am running a 8125 with the 2.17 ROM, could one of you absolute briliant developers out there let me know if there is a way to create a "Select All" option in the menu? basically when i am clearing my e-mail account out, say i have 30 e-mails there i have to manually select ALL the e-mails then "Delete" is there any way to create the "Select All" so i can press the "Menu" button then "Select All" then "Delete" ????
please help
thanks in advance
I think it's already been released. A guy found relevant code exampled in the SDK and compiled it. Try searching a bit more with relevant terms. I can't remember the poster I'm afraid.
V
Here. Never tried it myself but it is suppose to add the options.
Doesn't work for me (XDA Mini S)
good old windows shortcuts like ctrl+A also works on pda's
same with ctrl+c +v +x +z
you name it
Umm...hold the stylus down and drag?
ctrl + A is what I use on my exec. I've tried and it doesn't work on my side as well probably due to incompatibility with WM5 or something
thanks for all the replies. i am already holding the stylus and dragging, but i am trying to find a more 1 handed solution. "Menu" "Select all" "delete" 1 handed quick and painless. still lookimg and any suggestions are appreciated
thanks again
well ctrl +A would be a much quicker way then hold and tab
I use Menu>Tools>Clear "Account Name" it deletes everything I think even the sent items. This can be done one handed with softkeys/dpad.
That's fine, but I want to keep the sent items....
bnycastro
i have tried that and i find that if it "Clear" the account all the messages download again when the unit "send/receives" i posted about this a while back but got no replies. as far as "ctrl A" i would need to open the keypad to do this and i dont see how this can be less work than dragging all the messages with my finger (which is what i am doing now)
thanks again
This adds the option "mark all as read" and "delete all" to your menu.
This adds the option "mark all as read" and "delete all" to your menu.
Edit:
Just delete the ".zip" extension from the file name and install directly from your ppc.
anybody getting an error when trying to run this??
i also tried to unzip on my PC and get an error as well?
thanks

No unzip .......... it cancels exclusively ".zip"= markallasread.CAB
it is saving as a "zip" file the name shows .cab.zip and it wont rename?? i tried "Open With" .cab file and it still defaults to unzip??
any suggestions?
thanks
all files will rename
if explore in windows dont want to
then use a better file browser like
total commander
you can get it free for both pc and pda
yes i understand, i can "rename" the file but the properties show as a "zip" file see the attached screenshot
OK
that did not work??
the error reads
"The central directory was not found in the archive (or you were trying to open a disk other than the last disk of a multi-disk archive.)"

Use the "File Explorer" link to start a program called "Total Commander" and double-tap the "Windows" directory. Locate "shfind.exe" in it, select it, and tap 'File' in the bottom menu bar. Select "Create shortcut" from the menu, and anter "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" as the location for the shortcut. Shfind.exe will now show up under programs.
If you want, you can browse to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" using the same program to rename 'shfind.exe' to something nicer.
that was fast and helpful
thanks
hi I would like to know if there is anyway to copy all of my contacts to my sim card. I can see that you can copy them one by one but that would take too long and I know that can't be the only way to do this. does anyone know how to do this? thanks in advance.
Yes, you need the newer version of the SIM Manager program. I've zipped it and attached it for you.
You need to unzip it and copy it to your devices windows folder.
Cheerio
Howard
well ive dropped this into my windows folder but still dont see how to move contacts to the sim. i see "contacts to sim" but it only loads a blank window and says 0/247
n/m figured it out :x
So it worked or it didn't?
When I load it and select 'contacts to sim' it loads all my contacts and automatically selects them.

I got the same result, 0/(Entries)
The bottom of the screen has a 'Save' option. Has this anything to do with it?
I tried it but didn't notice any change.
I also tried not doing the 'Select All' and just went straight into 'Contacts to SIM'
My contacts do not seem to have changed. i.e. Those that didn't have the SIM icon next to them still don't.
it works.. i loaded my contacts first then exited it
then loaded the sim manager and selected contacts to sim
can somebody give a detailed explanation of how to do it? i try to go to the 'contacts to sim...' option but then it gives me the 0/(entries) thing and no contacts show up.
nvm found the answer here

can't delete or rename original file
Looking forward to use the updated sim_mgr.exe. Can't copy the file, rename the original or even copy the file to another directory.
Tried to use Total Commander to change attributes. Tried to use PC connected via USB/ActiveSync. Nothing worked.
Ideas/suggestions please....
I was too enthusiastic and used that RUU package...

Now I can`t re-liberate my shift, was following the old way and instructions, made a total clean, but liberate does not work.
There is no icon under settings...
Any idea? HELP please...
No icon means you didn't copy paste properly> Check your key combinations. What langage is your shift?
Create a new contact, edit it's picture, goes to windows folder, move the selection to the start menu folder (or your equivalent in your language), press ctrl+c, go to the settings folder, get inside it, press ctrl+v. You have a message saying it cannot copy contact. Acknowledge. Follow normal instructions
Hi, the shift`s language is german. I used strg-c and strg-v several times, there was a message "file alread exist", but it is not vissible and no icon inside settings menu. Hm...
You are probably not at the right place when you do this.
The crtl+c must be done in the windows folder, with the start menu selected (warning: start menu is in german, and is not "startup")
You must be in windows\settings when you click ctrl+v
Same problem
I am having the same problem with liberate/lnk file. (can't see it in settings). Read through your instructions but the video description never mentions the settings folder in the start menu for the liberate.lnk file. Are you referring to another process?
Also can't reliberate my shift
I have the following problem.
I Have uninstalled de liberate pack in vista.
And i tried to reinstall the file. but i get the following message:
Installation of Shiftpack.liberate.cab was unsuccessfull.
Can anyone help me.
I have an icon liberate in settingsdir. but it won't install it.
just like to share with you how with those who need a command line for
"Settings" aka "Control Panel" and for
"Programs List" aka "Start Menu"
there have been apps like "control.exe" and "folderview.exe" which did the same but on my device (and os) it is not working anymore.
however, you need mortscript:
to launch "Settings" execute this command:
Code:
Show(FindWindow( "Settings", complete, yes, no, no, "MSSTARTMENU" ))
to launch "Start Menu" simply execute this command:
Code:
SendWin
i am sure it will be of help for those who create their own UI
Add this:
Launch "Programs":
Code:
Show("Pograms")
Launch "Settings" for WM5/6.0/6.1
Code:
Show(FindWindow( "", complete, yes, no, no, "Dialog" ))
Launch "Settings" for WM6.5
Why not use
Code:
Show("Settings")
since this window has a valid title.
is it possible to use the above command lines in an lnk file?

... because mortscript tries to find the "best" fitting window for your criteria. if you just provide "Settings" mortscript might also find another window named Settings.
but you are right it is not mandatory - just regard the other parameters as additional.

yes it is. just write path and name of the .mscr file in your .lnk file - just as you would do with .exe files

i do not know if the above code really works on wm6.1
but i warmly recommend to install total commander which can do all for you:
you can create a file, rename it to <name>.mscr
add the above script line - save and close
double tab on the script and it is being executed
if it works, control panel will appear
to create a shortcut: there is also a menu for creating shortcuts

really works as i can't test it myself. if problems appear post here again and you'll be helped
however, you need v4.3 which is beta (but works perfectly stable). here. that's why you get error messages.
Show("Settings") worked
I've been looking for a way to re-start the 6.5 start menu for a few weeks now. I've been using Magic Button, and even when I put the start menu on the MB exclusive list, it still kills it occasionally when exiting. The 'sendwin' morscript doesn't revive it. Any ideas on a command that would? Thanks.

hm. not sure what the problem exactly is.
what do you mean by re-start start menu?
Well, with magic button you can actually kill the start menu. I believe it's part of a service, but haven't been able to track it down. For instance, I've used sk tools to save the list of running services, killed the start menu, then looked at the services and not seen any obvious changes (the same goes with processes). When the start menu is dead, it won't open up at all. I'd like to find out how to get it going again without resetting.

check it with dotfred's taskmanager and browse through the windows.
probably magic button closes this window.
Maybe the HoneyComb is shell32.exe, can you confirm?
And what is other side-effects without honeycomb?
Edit: I'm on the reverse side, want to kill it ! Just no device to test it ATM, but eager to know, also several weeks looking for this.
Just install magic button, it kills all!
Thanks Farmer Ted for the info, another lite tool added to my suitcase: MagicButton.
Just still curious to know what is exactly the WM6.5 Start Menu. (Edit: Check this tread for the start menu close issue.)

hi
I am sorry if this has been asked before (but I did search)
Is there any way to add suggest word(s) when typing in text, I have to type the same sentence over and over again every day and on my old phones/PDA this was not to bad as you could set the suggest word(s) to give you the next 4 works, I can't find this in the HD2 is there any way to add it
Thanks for any help
according to hint 19 in this thread:
19. Improve Suggested T9 Dictionary With Custom Words
The Leo has a very useful hidden application in the Windows directory. You need to unhide hidden system and Rom files in order to find it. Find the file "eT9MyWords.exe" in the Windows directory and add a shortcut to this file in your Windows/Start Menu folder.
When in the application, add the most common words you use when using the keypad such as names, locations, user names, email addresses and other words not common in the standard T9 dictionary. For example if you are based in London, UK you could add the following locations:
Leicester, Piccadilly, Tottenham, Soho, Charring, Euston, Trafalgar, Clapham,
and words such as BRB, DVD, coz, lol, xoxo, [email protected], ciao, etc.

I have read these tips and know about adding custom words.
What I want is for three to four words to come up to complete a sentence.
This has been in the input tap on old PDAs suggest word(s)
Hi
Is there no one Who can help with this?
Really with all the clever people on this site can no one help me
Please someone help me
Hi, i did a few tests and found...
et9mywords wont accept spaces, and although you can sneakily paste sentences into the input box, it wont save them, so that method is out.
Custom words are also found in HTCMDB.txt, and the good news is it works!
(See image)
The line 'this is a test' i hard coded into the file using my kitchen, then the 'this is a second test' i added as follows....
(I use resco explorer, i suspect the normal file manager wont do what is required, total commander probably will)
find /windows/HTCMDB.txt (it will be hidden, so show all files)
copy it to your sd card, and from there to your desktop.
(I tried editing it on the phone using windows mobile notepad, but it didnt work right)
On the PC, right click the file, properties, and untick 'read only', apply.
Open it and edit it as required.
Save it, and again right click, re apply 'read only'
Copy back to your sd card, and from teh phone use commander or resco to move it to /windows/
You will probably get a warning about rom files and what not, thats ok.
Reboot, and you should now be able to see your sentences.
PLease let me know how you get on.
EDIT - just for clarity, every entry inside HTCMDB.txt must be on its own line.
thanks for your help with this I have done as you posted and it works, it's a bit long winded but it works
thanks jason
