Can anybody help with a notice (window) that can show on the screen until acknowledged for any missed calls. An alarm that can sound regularly would also be great.
I personally get a small phone icon in the "Start" menubar when I miss a call.
Start\Settings\Sounds & Notifications\Notifications\Event: Phone:Missed call

customize as you please...
Try PhoneAlarm, it repeats notification until you dismiss it.

people have been ringing me but i have yet to work out how to set my xda2 up so that I can see any missed calls. I have tried the start/settings/phone/other settings/notifications and set it to play a sound and display a message on the screen. however this doesnt seem to work!?
Any advice as to how to do this? Also, i find the generic phone software a bit crap and buggy (crashes alot)...any reccs for better phone software?

Hi,
I like to use my own MP3 ringtones for incoming text message, They are quite long (40-50 seconds) so that I don't miss them if I am not next to my phone but How do I stop it from ringing as it always plays to the end, would like to assing a buton same as when you get incoming call just to end it...
Cheers
JAY
If you just click the End Call button while it's ringing from an incoming call, the phone should immediately forward the caller to your voice mail, and end the ringing.
Have you tried pressing the End Call button while the text message ring is going? You might be able to kill the ring that way, without doing anything unwanted like inadvertently deleting a message.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply but I have tried this, still does not stop the ringtone, I have tried to see if I can assign a button to do what I'm after but have not come up with anything, I know people will say just make a shorter length ringtone for my incoming text message but I prefer the longer length...
Do you think there would be a registry hack or maybe 3rd party software for this...
Cheers

It may be possible to write a mortscript that will stop any active ringing, and from there it's an easy step to create a soft button that does what you want using, for example, rlToday, or using Smartskey to place a secondary action on an existing hardware button (Press=original action, press+hold=new action), but you still have the problem of finding the activity that is the ringing, and creating a shortcut that will reverse that condition. It's over my head, I'm afraid.
Smartskey is definitely the tool to add a key function. Mortscripts is probably the easiest option you have for making a "program" that cuts a ringtone short, but it's probably not the only solution.
I'm afraid the SMS tone is played from some system process, so you can't just "kill" it with e.g. MortScript (except maybe if you don't care to get any further messages until a soft reset...). I think there's only a chance to cut it off if another app does the job. Maybe phoneAlarm does offer something like it.
MortRing in theory would be able, too, if "internal playback" is checked and the system's signal is turned off, but so far it hasn't any means to get a "stop it!" signal. And it only supports WAV...

Didn't mean to throw you under the bus, so to speak, but hey, I'm a fan of your work. Glad you could drop by, Mort!
i just use the volume slider to switch off the ringer. I do it even if I want to ignore a call without hanging up.
I have problem how my Touch HD handles Alarms and Reminders. Not sure that this is WM 6.1 general problem or Touch HD specific but I would appreciate any help regarding this.
When I set alarm (clock settings) or create new appointment I expect from my phone to play sound until I do something about it. But that doesn't happen. When Alarm/Reminder starts, everything is ok but... After sound is played first time, there is almost 1 minute delay. And after that delay sound is played at same interval twice more times and that is it. Phone goes back to standby mode and until I power on manually I wont see message popup, or in most cases just a small bell icon in title bar.
My setting are pretty simple - everything is checked under Sounds and Notification:
Enable sounds for: Events, Programs, Notifications, Screen Taps, Hardware buttons
For Reminder event: Play sound (Alarm-Rooster), Repeat, Display Message on screen, Flash light for 5 minutes, Vibrate.
My questions are:
1) Is there possibility to loop sound while it is playing? Not just repeat at "unknown" intervals
2) Is there possibility to repeat alarm/reminder until it is turned off?
3) Is there way to have some notification window which can't be put in background until I do something about it.
I am not heavy user, so I don't check regularly what is going on on my mobile. But I do expect to be somehow notified when some important events happens (sounds, blinking, vibrate - just not led, because I can barely see it).
I tried to find program which handles alarms, notification and run into PhoneWeaver which is great but problem remains. As I understand PhoneWeaver rely on WM Alarms and Notifications behavior. It just adds convenient notifications for SMS, E-mails.
What bugs me is that I have now perfectly working notification when Email, Missed Call or SMS arrives. It will repeat chosen sound on certain periods of time until I do something about it. And standby doesn't have anything to do with it.
But problem still remains, Alarm and Reminder sound notification is repeated just three time until phone back to the Standby mode and that is it. If I don't see it then, I won't until I turn on phone.
Any ideas?
if I snooze an event for 1 hour, it comes back with a reminder in 30 minuets
WinMo handling of notifications is horrible IMHO
it may have been good enough back in the days of WinMo 2003 but it's just annoying now
my biggest gripes
*not enough snooze intervals (or a custom snooze time)
*wakes up the whole device to show u the alert
plus it's buggy
if I snooze an event for 1 hour, it comes back with a reminder in 30 minuets
does anyone else have this issue and maybe know a fix?
Is there any custom application that handles default WM behavior regarding alarm/reminders and notification? I found few, but all of them are just providing handy UI and keep using buggy WM. At the moment I am using PhoneWeaver in order to have profiles like on my Nokia. But look like it doesn't have full support for HD because I can't even change sound for Reminder.

I want know also how I can fix that. I have ticked "show message on screen" and then a "bubble" comes on the screen when I have alarm/appointment, but that works only once. Next time I have a alarm or appointment, theres only bell icon on top bar.
I check settings and "show message on screen" is unticked! Help?

I found a same issue with Touch Pro, that's really annoying problem
The cure (almost)
Yes the repeating alarm/reminder thing is a bit weak to say the least I REALLY need to know if I've missed a call, SMS, meeting etc. There's a real nice powerful app called PhoneAlarm which does everything you could possibly want. Almost too customizable. The problem is it relies on the Today plugin but most of us are using HTC's TF3D which disables all the plugins. I've tried a few others but ended up with something called "Best Reminder" - corny name I know but its ok'ish. Try it in case it helps.
SPB Phone Suite, IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD, it has a repeating alarm bug fixes, and also repeated notifications for SMS/emails/Missed calls.
Try it, its sweet!
Willy
Sorry, I forgot to mention this:
No need to enable the Today plugin, just Set it, and forget it!
Will try it...

If it's from SPB it should be good
I'm just having another go with http://www.pocketmax.net/alarmPal.html. Last time I tried alarmPal it kept crashing but this time round its on the device memory and seems ok so far. Its cheap too. "Best Reminder" is a half solution so hopefully one of these should work out.
When switching the phone from ring to vibrate using the manual switch on top of the phone, isn't there supposed to be a short vibration as feedback to let you know the phone is silenced? When I switch from ring to vibrate, I get no vibration feedback, but everything else works correctly (meaning that the ringer and sounds really are silenced and switched to vibrate-only mode).
None of the Treos I've had in the past have had this problem of the "vanishing feedback" when switching to vibrate.
Does anyone know if there is a setting or a registry hack to re-enable this feature?
It is very convenient to be able to reach in my pocket and switch the phone to vibrate and to receive a short vibration to let me know I got the switch in the right position. Thanks in advance for your help!
You should try getting into Start menu >Settings>Sounds & notifications, and then notifications !
There should be a check box where you select to enable or disable the feature
Fyi
I have a similar issue...
I'm using 6.5 23549 RealVGA Updated from imzkng in ppcGeeks with the 'no windows/ok/X button' tweak and sometimes in start menu when a push 'lock' (or anything in the bottom bar) the Treo give-me a vibrate-feedback, ok I like it! but 95% of the time it just does nothing...
I bought a LG Cookie for my girlfriend and I LOVED the feedback and would like to put in my Treo... does anyone know how?
well, I found a program that rumble the way I want...
TouchResponse
U can config it to rumble when U touch and when your finger leave the screen... and other things...
well, i have the same problem with my custom wm 6.5 rom... as for the screen, touch response is a great addition (then i know when stuff freezes too )
Hey guys, just wondering if it was possible to change the incoming call screen on my Epic 4g from the "drag the picture/icon in the middle up or down" one that's standard on the epic to the horizontal sliding unlock screen. I can't post pictures yet so I can't really show what I'm talking about, sorry.
My mom has the LG Optimus S, and her phone has the incoming call screen I'm talking about. Slide an icon from left to right, and you pick up. Slide an icon from right to left, and it ignores the call.
Thanks!
i'd like to know if this is possible also.
If you searched you would realize this has been discussed before. you want the aosp incoming call screen. Right now the imply way to get it is to install cm6
Sent From Da Hood.
so, it's impossible to change incoming call screen from third party software
so sad
I wonder why anyone would want the AOSP incoming call screen when the TW call screen has that handy "ignore with text" button on it.. Plus you get a lil picture of the person calling you.. Not to mention if you miss a call, you get the "slide to missed call" thing on your lock screen
it seems to me that the tw incoming call screen is objectively better in that it provides more functionality... so, if you don't mind me asking, why are you so eager to switch to the AOSP incoming call screen?
