I'm looking thru this thread
and was wondering if there are any kind of keyboard skins for our Wizards
You might want to check Resco
Works very well, many skins.
Cheers

or TopKey: http://www.pdamill.com/prod_tk.shtml
You can also skin the default keyboard, supposedly - last I tried it didn't work (might not work on WM5?), but hey...

Hi guys!
Wich would you guys think to be the best keyboard input for WM 5 / 6.
Ive tried a few, touchpal, pocket CM keyboard, etc......
I would like to have some different inputs, into what some of the users think!
Thanks alot!
(Links would be appreciated!)
i prefer the pocketcm with the iphone skin. works well for me
Hi I have a problem in using pocketcm..hope frens don't mind helping me
Why everytime I want to change to use pocket cm when writing it will force me to use the standard keyboard?? I mean even I am choosing pocketcm as my deffault input..it will be automatically set to default keyboard why is that?
look for a SIM cab file. This will allow pocket cm keyboard to become your standard.
I prefer the cootek touchpal myself.

Hi.
i had the same problem. but yesterday i found the solution to make any keybord the default one. (-:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=977148&postcount=1
I find PocketCM keyboard. It is fully customizable/skinnable.
See my skin here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353191
i like the pocketcm interface but it's a bit slow to type if compare with touchpal, however, i hope touchpal will hav skin to change, it took out lots of space in the screen.
eurokeyboard.period.
Haven't found a thread on this anywhere else.
Has anyone tried the HappyTapping keyboard on the Cruise and can confirm it's compatibility and usability on this HTC model?
Advice much appreciated, don't really like any of the inclded keybaords.
iPhone keyboard...hmm... IMHO it will never work on WM devices.
But if You want keyboard with "pop-up" letters, may be You should try PocketCM keyboard - http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard.php
Also give Cootek TouchPal a try I am sure you will like it.
Resco Keyboard includes an Iphone keyboard and it works great (I know it's commercial but...)

I like this one the most..tryed the other ones and this one is the best at the moment.
Also im from the netherlands and it supports a dutch language pack.
is there any keyboard with 'responce'? a sork of vibrating or sth else which vividly shows you have actually pressed it?
A friend told me there is a program to see big letters on the screen so that I don't need to use pen to write sms. Can someone help me? As you can see I'm not pc expert
search for phonepad
it does it t9Style
Install an other keyboard like Resco Pro
Yup,
HTC Phone Pad works well! I've had it on my SPV since first upgrading WM5 (now on WM6) and it works fine as a T9 keypad emulator.
Its on this site... Somewhere!
;-)
Was going to upload it, but for some reason i can't so here is a link to a thread that seems to have it
Dark PhonePad
ive been using SPB Keyboard.....can anyone on here recommend another piece of software that is better?
I use PCM Keyboard http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard.php
It's free and the layout is totaly configurable.
TouchPal by CooTek is by far the best, try the others but you will come back to this one.
I have attached the free version from before it went pro. If you like this try out the demo of version 3 from the website and buy it!!
Help me !
I´ve WM5 from Vodafone and none keyboard of this thread works i can choose it, but nothing happens

I have found if you install more than one of these on your device then you can't switch between them.
Try uninstalling all the SIP's that you have added, soft resetting in between each and one more S/R just to be sure.
Then install just one SIP and another S/R and it should work.
If you still have trouble chuck something like SIPChange and set your preferred SIP before S/R.
I have been through many SIPs and have had the issue of most of them not being chooseable, well choose but have nothing happen. The only one i have found that is selectable is the TouchPal by Cootek.

lucky you...just tried that one, and im having the same problem as everyone else..ie...i can select it, but nothing happens.
i had the same problem with my phone
The only way i could fix it was to change my rom. now i can install as many different ones as i like.
have been trying the tengo keyboard as it splits the keyboard into 6 buttons so i can have the smallest keyboard (smaller than the normal wm one) and still use it with me fingers/nails

Noticed no one has bothered posting about the new Xperia OEM (XT9) keyboard cab extract from the R3AA rom used in itje's Touch-IT 4.5 rom so here's the post link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3364286&postcount=2
There's also newer version of the Media Experience Panel as well as another spiffy Flash-based "Growing" panel, etc.... check them out, and DONATE to itje for his hard work!
WARNING: the new XT9 keyboard is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE HTC EzInput (TOUCH-IT) KEYBOARD. You can only have one OR the other installed.
Known Issues:
* au key is fcked. use reg attachment somewhere lower in this thread to enable it (at the expense of disabling T9).
Don't bug me (or itje) with "oh it doesn't work" questions... go figure it out yourself or JFGI in xda.
EDIT: Updated post with Keyboard pics. I think it's quite a worthy alternative to EzInput, mainly because it has Next Word Prediction (like in TouchPal, except this one actually works better b/c it remembers what you've typed before). And the bigger keys in keypad mode.
Is Itje ok with you extracting this stuff? I'd say so, as the ROM is apparently unprotected. The new keyboard is much better than the stock, though I still think I prefer fingerKB 2.0

Oh. No wonder my XT9 doesn't work after I installed EZInput. Oh well, still prefer the original HTC keyboard though, cos of the Phonepad.

I haven't extracted anything, I'm just linking to his Touch IT ROM post which already has a couple of cabs hosted on Rapidshare
Just installed XT9 so don't know which one I prefer at the moment.. but it's nice to have a proper (non-MS) keyboard from SE finally! Looks like they're committed on improving the X1 so happy to see we're not getting left out in the cold....
does this keyboard have a phonepad also?
does it support T9 with phonepad?
do fn-key and accented letters on hardware keyboard work?
Can someone post a picture of the keyboard?
I tryed the new 3d game and it works very well.
But I can't get working new flash panel (growing panel) and new version of media xperience panel that have the radio integrated. I think that we need also of new panel manager.
If anyone can get working, please, share.
And finally it will be wonderful if there is also the new camera cab. It has AUTOFLASH and GPS photo!
The media panel and growing panel dont work. The icons pulse on media panel and growing panel it wont even load. This is on R1A rom
:\
Keyboard is nice though
This SPB Mobile Shell, is it the same as the original panel?

You have to install http://rapidshare.com/files/210068339/ActiveX_Deployment_signed.CAB for the GrowPanel. And if you're not using an english rom, you have to change the registry paths pointing to the panel.
Gorwing Panel works.
Thanks Chalid!
It's a very beauty panel! Like fish panel!
Now if new mxp and new cam will work, all we'll be very happy!
Sorry for being dumb, but is R3AA a new official ROM from SE?

not yet it's not
I could not find the 'camera/autoflash cab'. Is there a separate download link somewhere?
thanks
It isn't released.
But I think that we need only of xperiacamera directory (in new itje's rom).
To what i have to change the registry path for the growing panel and which registry path (exactly direction).
I have a german Xperia
Thx
You have to change all the key in HKLM/software/sonyericsson/panelmanager/panel/growing panel that have a wrong path.
For example default have /programs file/.... and IT user have to change in /programmi/...
Ok?
Camera (GPS)
I've installed the rom and its looking good
there's a new panelmanager and the camera now has gps geotagging by the looks of it and the keyboard is gr8 too.
I don't know if you drop this over the R2A camera folder whether it will work or not. Have zipped the folder from the new rom but can't upload to here as keeps failing!
anyone care to try???

I got the growing panel to work by installing the activex_deployment cab, but the media panel still doesn't work; the icons just pulse.
could someone in the know list the changes and improvements from the r2 to r3 rom (se rom, NOT itje's Rom)
and list which of the downloadable cabs are new/improved and which are the same as the old versions.
i absolutely hate every keyboard i have used so far... anyone recommend a keyboard i can download or something?

ezinput 2.0
For windows mobile?
I used SPB keyboard before I moved to Android. The buttons were pretty big, and the landscape mode was nice.
I use FingerKeyboard, I really like how it covers the soft keys to save space.
Touchpal is the best if you want the two-letter T9. There is also EZInput 2.0 that pcarvallo put out for qvga a while ago. It's very nice.
I use the Diamond keyboard for the WinMo, and for android I use the HTC_ime
I like the Resco Pro. Free download (trial)
I love the pcm keyboard (pocket contact manager keyboard). It was highly recommended when I got my Touch. I almost sent it in the first day and week for hating the keyboards, then found lots of posts recommending pcm, downloaded and kept the phone. It's free. i just turn off the text prediction and auto replace.
For Windows Mobile, FingerKeyboard is the best and it's free. You can read my review of it here: http://thismobilelife.com/?p=129.
For Android I like the HTC keyboard.

FingerKeyboard is indeed most excellent, but I find the keys in Resco's Pro version easier to use.
Download the free trial that I provided in this link, check it out, and let me know what you think.
