Firewall for WM5 - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Anyone recommend a firewall for the Universal ? This for mobile internet browsing.

Is there such a thing as a bluetooth firewall?
I used to keep my bluetooth connections switched off to avoid bluejacking/bluesnarfing attempts on my phone.
However now I have bluetooth GPS, headsets, Headphones and car kits. Whilst using these devices I have to swich bluetooth on but would like to avoid having my phone hacked resulting in stolen data and huge mobile phone calls to premium rate numbers.

XDA Exec connecting to mobile phone to use its internet connection

Okay this may sound a little odd!
I have an XDA Exec running WM6.1 Pro
I want to connect via Bluetooth to my Sony Ericsson K800i to use its internet connection. reason being that the XDA is not my primary phone so if i can just carry it around when needed and use the K800i web connection then that would be better for me. It would also stop me having to get a data connection for it.
But it looks like there is no option within bluetooth to do this anymore.
In my totally naive way i tried installing a new bluetooth stack but that just caused me lots of BT problems and I ended up doing a hard reset.
Also does anyone know if bluetooth will cope in this way if I wish to listen to streaming radio stations via this way of connecting?
Thanks for you help

Work around for Bluetooth Handsfree Problem

I just got a TMOUS HD2 and had the same problems a lot of other people are having connecting it to my car. It connects to the car correctly, downloads the address book, but no sound comes through the cars speakers and the call doesn't register on the cars phone display. I searched XDA and there seems to be a bunch of registry change posts that don't seem to work all the time and disable some features. By doing the following I get it to work consistently with all the features enabled.
1) Turn off the data connection and Bluetooth in Comm Mgr
2) Turn on Bluetooth and connect (or pair) the phone with the car
3) Make a call
4) While in the call, turn the data connection back on
It works for my Land Rover RRS and stays working until I reset the phone. After I reset, I just go through the above procedure again.
I don't know if it works for every car make but it should work for most Volvos, Jaguars, and Land Rovers since most of them use common bluetooth systems.
Hope this helps somebody.
I am having the same issue. I have to manually connect the music stream. The phone stream always connects. Hoping for a fix from T-Mobile.

My car doesn't support A2DP - the phone's separate from the audio head. All the car's phone features work though - voice recognition, conference calling, transfer to and from the handset, and address book and digit dial. I wouldn't hold my breath for a fix though. It's the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack that HTC started using with the TP2 so there are over a year's worth of complaints logged with HTC and no sign of a fix.
well, not much to be said for the Microsoft bluetooth stack either. I have a 2010 LR4 and can't get my HTC Raphael/Touch Pro/Fuze to keep a connection. Hard to know what the problem is, starting a WiFi or GPS session often resets the connection, in addition to the random drops, sometimes mid-call.
When I tried an iPhone though, it worked fine, naturally.

crash while using bluetooth headset and wifi at the same time

I am having a very odd issue with my X10. My phone crashes when ever I am on my bluetooth headset and trying to use any app that accesses the internet through wifi.
Crash scenario: I take a call on my headset. While on the call, I try to use an app that tries to access the net over wifi (i.e., gmail, facebook, email, calendar, or browser), but the app would hang or not be able to get access. I end the call and still no traffic.
- 1. I go to the settings menu and it's super slow to access any options. I get to the wifi settings and the phone freezes. I have to shut down via power button.
- 2. I go to the stock wifi widget and turn wifi off to restart it. A crash occurs and the phone reboots itself.
Possible causes: Conflicting hardware. Software bug. One or more hardware failure.
I have used the BT headset with my SE P1i and SE X1a. Both work perfectly with the headset. Both phones connect to the same wifi router without incident also.
I've tried to solve this problem all day now and I'm out of ideas. To think that such a glitch is possible boggles my mind. If anyone can give me any input, I would greatly appreciate it.
Hardware I'm using:
Phone: SE X10i
Headset: Jawbone Prime BT headset
Router: Linksys WRT120N (Rev. Unkown)

[Q] Real-time routing audio from Phone's MIC to Bluetooth HEADSET. Possible?

From few weeks I want to make some wireless communication between 2 people.
I try to make some walkie-talkie connections over wi-fi with 2 WMobile phones, but unfortunately wi-fi drains battery in about half hour. So finally wi-fi walkie-talkie is not efficient at all in case of whole working day communication.
Because, in fact, I want only one-way communication it would be ok, if the Sender talks to phone's microphone, and Receiver hear this in bluetooth headset paired with same phone.
So question is: is there a possibility to route in real-time audio from phone's mic to bluetooth headset paired and connected with this phone at the same time??
I try Xda's AudioRoute and BAGCtrl, but unfortunately its only route phone's speaker to bt headset or vice versa - NOT mic to speaker/headphones, which I try to achieve.
(Of course someone can ask why not to establish walkie-talkie over bluetooth. The answer is that if an effective range between 2 phones over bluetooth is same as between phone and bluetooth headset, so why use 2 phones? It have no sense.
So I try achieve maximum simplicity, without doubling phones, software, coding, transmision, decoding, and so on.)

Making my phone a bluetooth server

I am using Motorolla XT910 and I prefer to use the wired headset when I am driving over bluetooth headset. I sometimes have another mobile with me (nokia or blackberry), which is my company phone and it has bluetooth.
Now can i make my phone as a bluetooth server or receiver so that I can receive my signal from the other phone and talk via my wired headset??
Basically i dont like to use a multi-device bluetooth headset device, so I am trying to find an alternative.
