Hi All,
I have a o2 xDA Mini S aka Wizard/QTec 9100, etc...
I've been lurking about this forum for some months now, and the other day I decided after reading good news of the Motorola HT820 headset that this would work correctly if I used the A2DP .cab file supplied in these forums.
Well, I did that and it works as intended but I seem to get a background crackling noise which gets worse the louder the music is.
I can seem to reduce it, but it never quite goes away... I've noticed a few odd messages on this forum with other users with this problem but cant determine if its something when the HT820 is paired with a 'Wizard' or not.
I've tried about 5 different PocketPC audio music players and cant seem to determine if its the phone, the bluetooth in some way or the headset itself... However, when I plug the headset into an audio jack it sounds PERFECT.
I suspect it may be the bluetooth bandwidth in some way as the headphones work fine when used as normal headphones...
After 3 days of messing with it, I've come here to hopefully get some help, determine where the problem is and hopefully help with a fix.
My ROM is the original 2.21.4.1 WWE that originally came with the phone about 4 months ago. Is anyone else getting this problem, knows a fix or has any info as to what it ould be? If we all work together, maybe we can figure this out...
Thanks all.

Hi Again,
I've been experimenting some more the last day and I cant quite seem to figure any more leads on what the problem could be related to.
Does anyone else experience this issue?
Thanks all.
Plonka2000.
I have experienced the same thing, especially with songs that are bass intensive. I have not found a solution.

Same here unfortunately
I've been experimenting a lot too, but presently still have a £40 set of headphones that sound worse than the ropey ones originally bundled with the Mini-S
Its at least good to know that other people are having the same issue.
Are you both using the Motorola HT820 as well?
Have you tried pairing it with another device to test the quality of the sound from another source.
I tried with my PC but my USB bluetooth adaptor is only BT1.0 compatible. Pairs but doesnt do anything...
What ROM versions are you guys using?
I'm still on my original 2.21.4.1 WWE that came originally with it.
Yeah - same headphones, same ROM (which I think is the latest one in any case).
I also have an XDAIIi which I wiped clean and use purely as an in-car GPS ATM. As soon as I get a chance (unfortunately rugby and beer eats up most of my spare time :? ) I'll see what I can find re an A2DP hack for the IIi and try the headphones on that.
Will post here with results (probably Monday)
I appear to be having problems ever since i changed to wm6 for Trinity. My itech blueband bluetooth stereo headset is often losing sound when playing music. any way to solve this?
EDIT: solution page 4!
more details plz: rom version, radio version etc...

"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:99999
or use this cab, its the same!!
rom is the latest official wm6. how i check radio? oh cool, i'll try out that cab dude, and post here the results
not working bro. shudnt my pda restart after installing that cab? i installed in main memory, and i'm now using my headphones. still got the problem. your registry tweaked the voice commander, my problem is with the bluetooth. 0_o
as in, i listen to music using my bluetooth headset, i hear
EXAMPLE: BONJOVI'S ITS MY LIFE
Its my ..(no sound suddenly).........Now and never, i aint gonna live forever!
the sound is lost but the music is still playing
Getting the same problem with iTech R35 bluetooth stereo headphones and offical Dopod WM6 upgrade (ROM 3.00.707.17 / Radio 1.46.00.11).
The headphones were working fine for the last 6 months with decent sound quality after pairing. Ever since I upgraded to WM6, either the headphones or the phone are dropping the BT connection after random intervals of between 5 minutes - 30 minutes. i.e. the sound suddenly cuts off even though the PDA is still playing music and everything seems to still be connected ( the BT icon is still displayed in the taskbar). If I re-pair again, it comes back for a short while, but then always cuts off again
This is the exact same problem I have with my R35 and WM6. I have figured out a way to make it cut out on a song (a different format wma). if i just play mp3s it will start to skip and then cut out completely after a random time. So I think its WMP I tried different radios and it still doesn't work....
help us anyone!
I posted a thread but no one was able to help...

I don't think it's a WMP problem, since I generally don't use that app. It's dropping for me with Resco Pocket Radio and CorePlayer.
Getting fed up with Dopod firmware. First, it was the 'no-bass' problem with the previous ROM. Now, it's this problem...! Can't they just release firmware without MAJOR bugs in it?!
I don't want to suggest this but do you think it has something to do with the itech clips?
when i use my BT stereo headset (plantronics pulsar 260) the music stopped sometimes, like described above.
when i disconnect my headset, the music plays normally over the phone speaker. no problem at all.
i guess its just another bluetooth problem.
when my phone is in my right pocket, and the receiver of my BT-set is in my left pocket, my body is between them, it gives the same problem( i am on my ATB at the time, moving)
very strange.....and no, i dont have any metal in my body. ;-)
Hi,
I'm using Touch 1.2 U-Clip and I have the exact same problem. So it's not just with i-Tech. I hope someone will find a solution for this problem.
Think its the Bluetooth stack
I am having the exact same frustrating problem - after checking to see if it was a Dopod error (tried closing down everything else on the PPC, tried other wired headsets), I have come to the conclusion it is something in WM6 Bluetooth, as I did not have this problem in the previous WM5 on the same machine with the smae Blueant Stereo headphones - mind you with WM6, I have full function with the Media Player, that is I can pause, next track, etc, whereas I couldnt do this with the WM5 version. WM5 had a really annoying high pitched whine, otherwise worked a treat.
So, in short WM6 has fixed the whine, has brought full features to the headset, but skips (blanks) the songs. Just before each "blank" I have noticed that it sounds like the song slows up - much like an old tape player running our of battery.
Now, I have no idea how/where/who to fix this, so anybody with even half a clue, please let all of us know, this is getting quite maddening!

bump for the thread. and yea man, i have the same prob. its like a battery dead sound, as the song goes out of tune etc
a slightly different problem
i use the INDIGO LITE rom, and i use OMIZ 5110 stereo headset, and i dont have the skiping problems described here, however since upgrading to WM6 the sound quality is terrible, i feel like tori amos is singing in my bathroom (which if was true could be really great) but alas, its just crappy sound quality... i tried changing the registry BITPOOL to 58 and played with all the values there known to man (at least to THIS man) but nothing helps...
Going by the devices that have this 'dropping sound' problem, it seems to only be affecting A2DP stereo bluetooth headsets paired with WM6 Trinity devices. Or are regular bluetooth mono headsets affected as well?
Personally havent paired a mono headset, but the problem I am having is definitely a stereo one! Any solution as opposed to taking to the machine with an axe?
Anyone found a solution yet?????? Please!!!!
I am also having the same sound dropping problems.
I have the same problem as well. I have just upgraded my rom to official WM6 rom. I'm using iTech Clip Radio.
So, I started using a bluetooth headset recently, and decided I really like it. However, I have been getting complaints from people about a buzzing noise when I answer the phone via the headset. I have tried quite a few different headsets, and all with the same issue, which leads me to believe it is a phone problem. My phone is set to ring & vibrate, and I find myself wondering two things: 1) Has anyone else had this problem, and 2) Could the phone be somehow transmitting the sound of the vibrating to the headset or something?

people complained about noise when i made calls on standard bluetooth headsets... which is why i use 3.5mm headphones with an 11pin usb to 3.5mm adapter with a built in microphone

I'm using Plantronics 590A bluetooth stereo headset with my fairly new Galaxy Tab. When I listen to music, it will play for several seconds (sometimes a minute or so, but usually much less), then it will cut out with no sound for a second or two or three, then start playing again.
I would suspect a problem the Tab, except that this is the second one, and of a different variety (the first was Verizon, which I returned due to lack of SIM and got AT&Ts). Both showed similar symptoms. The headset *never* cuts out on phone conversations (AT&T Tilt2, HTC Aria), and it's rock solid when I attach the bluetooth adapter to the G-Tab's audio out.
I had suspected things like "Wifi notify me when a network is nearby," and the like, but this will occur even if *all* network devices are disabled (except BT of course).
I have several apps from the market and the device is rooted via SuperOneClick, but otherwise it's a fairly standard installation.
Is this a common problem? What suggestions do you have for troubleshooting/resolution?
Thanks!
Hi guys, so im wondering if anyone else have encountered a similar problem to mine.
I usually play music through bluetooth headsets, works absolutely flawless!
But in my car, a 2010 Audi A4 i only have the option to talk via the phone, car doesnt support music playback. So when i plug my 3.5mm in and try to play music (via spotify) i get this crackling sound. Doesnt happen on other devices like my JBL speaker, but the wierd thing is that my girlfriends iphone doesnt produce any crackling sound what so ever in the car. So im looking for options, i run stock OOS and kernel, no root or anything.
Would V4A help with this?
Anyone else got a similar problem?
Someone might recommend me to get a bluetooth adapter via AMI in the car but sadly the car doesnt have AMI. Or atleast i cant find it anywhere!
Any other solutions you guys could recommend?
Thanks in regards.

Can you update the car stereo firmware? At that age possibly not, but I had similar issues with a different phone and updating the media panel firmware fixed connectivity.
Also, try changing the Bluetooth codec in settings > advanced to see if that helps connect.
The crackling via 3.5 jack sounds like a faulty wire or lose connection on input or output. Do you get the same issue when you plugin the jack to your JBL input socket?

Could probably update the firmware, but the shop is most likely gonna ruin me haha.
Thats the wierd thing, doesnt happen on my JBL speaker, or a wired pair of headphones. Hence why i was sure it was the car. But my girlfriends phone sounds crystal clear, old moto x style didnt have the problem either!
Had the same problem with 3.5mm headphones until I removed the pre-applied plastic screen protector... This thing was causing too much static electricity in my jeans pocket as I walked resulting in crackling noises in the headphones
We have two op5, And The other sounds exactly same, cracling sound. The other Works just fine. We also have A4 b8. Our other car, VW Caddy, both Works fine.
Wires are good, jacks also.
Any ideas Whats wrong?
I have the OnePlus 5t and a 2011 a4 b8 and have the same issue... tried with 2 different aux cables (that worked fine with my old phone) Glad I'm not the only one. My phone sounds fine on any other device. Blasting music through my headset right now no problem. But in the a4 I get crackles any time I bring my phone volume over half! If anyone finds a solution I'd love to try it. Unfortunately can't get viper arise to install on stock room (rooted) so I haven't tried that route. My only Idiea is to try an amplifier.
