A2DP support on 818pro - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

Go to this forum, it also work on 818pro.
I posted all the setting in the post and you need to download some file from following post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=275438#275438
1. The ROM should be updated as latest AKU2 ROM
2. Extract the attached *.zip file. Find this files Avrcp_MPplugin.dll, bta2dp.dll and sbc.dll. Copy these three files to \Windows thru ActiveSync.
3. You also find this file Tor_A2DP_cert.CAB . Copy this file to any folder (I recommend \My Documents), and install it in PDA.
4. Import or modify A2DP-related registry values as follows, I use resco
editor.
Add Key Value
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7AAC2B28-5DD1-4052-81DD-E17114EE96B6}]

Add > "Order"=dword:00000008 (Use Dword Value)
Add > "Prefix"="WAV" (Use String Value)
Add > "Dll"="bta2dp.dll" (Use String Value)
5. Long Press Power button > Power Off and Trun On Again.
6. Deleted any bluetooth headset pair and soft reset.
7. You can enable A2DP for your stereo headset, from Settings - 6. Connections - 2. Bluetooth - Menu (right softkey) - 1. Devices - Select your A2DP headset - Menu (right softkey) - Set as Wireless Stereo !!

Can anyone else confirm yet that this works?
Thanks for posting this sas90850!

Thanks, sas90850 and kyunga who posted the original files for Tornado. Glad to know that Dopod 818Pro can support A2DP even before ROM upgrade from all HTC vendors.
I try to integrate those files and registry settings into a CAB file for easier use. I don't have a stereo BT headset to test but hope this works. To install the driver, just run this CAB in your Prophet.
People in the Thailand "www.pdamobiz.com" have tested this driver and confirmed that it works on Dopod 818Pro (HTC Prophet) and Dopod 838 (HTC Wizard). Thanks Mr. Ruchonburi for picutres from Dopod 838 below:

How well does it work?
Does the sound drop out?
Does it work on all songs?

Installed on SPV M600 and paired with Motorola HT820 but no sound through headphones from Windows media player.
Are the registry settings included in the cab file.

Friggin SWEET!!! I just installed on my Jamin and it works great! I used Khuanchai's cab file for the registry edits (thanks Khuanchai) and followed the instructions in the other post, restarted, paired with my ITech and now I have stereo! Just fyi, I have the latest Imate rom installed, and am overclocking to 204. I am using TCMP for playback and have tried several differnet mp3's and have had no dropout since I have been listening (approx 10 min so far). Now I have a2dp on my Kjam (via the test rom) and my Jamin working flawlessly! Thanks to everyone that helped with this!

Going to try and install again.

I just tested with windows media player and it works fine with that for me too. Here is what I did:
followed the instructions above
Go to this forum, it also work on 818pro.

Don't forget to install Tor_A2DP_cert.CAB.
Finally, we have usefull A2DP for Prophet right here.

Did hard reset and clean install working mint off to the gym to listen to bluetooth metallica you guys rock. very very loud on these Moto headphones.

WOW
you rock!!!
I havent tried yet, cuz my R35 is still on the way.
IT'S A GOOD NEWS
THANKS ALOT!

This is sweet. Now why wouldn't it have been default with the AKU2 ROM?... Don't they know people will just figure this stuff out eventually?

So whats the easiest way to transfer the sound to the headset? When I turn off my headset, audio goes back to the built in speaker. Then when I turn my headset back on, it only acts as a "headset", not stereo headphones. I can voice dial etc, but to get back to using it in stereo, I have to go back to the bluetooth settings, select the headset and select "set as wireless stereo". Anyone know how to set a hard button to toggle this? Or how to put an item on the today screen via pocket plus or otherwise?

I have Play/Pause button on my Pulsar 590 headset. Long push on this button turns ON and OFF stereo function on S200. May be your headset have similar button also.

I just have volume buttons and a "connect" button. When I press the connect button, it activates voice dial.

Is it possible to have the icon that appears when stereo headset connects show all the time, on my spv m600 its like a headset with a note in the middle.

I have a Jamin with latest rom. Installed CAB. POwer Off. Removed all BT devices. Soft reset. After that I can see Wireless Stereo while pairing headphones with Jamin. BUT I DON'T have option in BT properties for headset to enable Wireless Stereo.
Any ideas?

Larger buttons on dialer needed

I'm wondering if there is a way, maybe through a third party app, to make the buttons on the phone dialer larger. It's kind of a pain to dial while driving and I don't have large hands either.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Tom

Don´t ask, try yourself! WM2005 is on the Vario/Wizard!
Im gettin tired of buying apps. Is there a freeweeeh app out like this one?
Yes, but ME software PhonePlus III does not work in landscape mode. The bottom buttons get hidden in landscape. Works though in Portrait. I therefore object to the developers claim that this is fully WM5 compatible. It is only partially compatible.
Kind Regards
You can create your own buttons and experience with the size.
All you need you'll find it in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skins and in Windows directory.
Only thing to remember: you can't override the BMPs in windows directory so create your own directory and save your modified BMPs there. Then change the path to this files in registry and it will work.
Only thing i could change so far is the colour of the Indellidialer because i can't find a link to this BMPs and files in windows directory are locked.
I changed my colors last night in a quick way for testing and now my own skin looks like this:

In windows directory there are several bmp files. I copied them to my desktopn and had a look with explorer preview on them. I identified the bmp files needed by dialer skin and changed the color.
Created a new directory on my mda vario (i.e. PhoneSkin) and copied the modified files back. YOu can't override the installed files in windows directory because they are flagged as ROM files and can't be deleted.
In the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin there are two entries (DIALER and PROGRESS) and each of them with landscape and portrait.
There you can find entries for the several buttons with a link to the files. Cahnge the link to your modified files and after a softreset you'll have your own colours.

Sorry but I can't find that registry entry in my Qtek.
I only have 2 entrys : Enebled and ext.
I already used photoshop to enlarge the buttons with 10% but I can't get them into smartdailer now.
I would also be happy with the layout that shows up for the passwordentry at startup. that one is verry clear and big.
phone pluss great but not compatable
there claim of compatability is fake....its a cool software but momen i dial a number i am back to the old dialer skin...so i have to keep shuffling which is a caos...besides i had aalocated a hardware button call to phonepluand tok ages to just opn the software....
when dialing is on t9 then why not sm...i liked the sms feature but when it came to using it...it was a big problem without t9 featre...i iked the softarefor big buttons but deleted it now...not worth....till they fix bugs...ucan still gie it try
Skinning The WM2K3 Phone Dialer Interface

I own a Blue Angel (Cingular - Siemens SX66) & it's running Windows Mobile 2003 SE on it in Landscape Mode.

-------------------------------------------------------------
--- STEP 1: Copy & Paste / Drag & Drop (Part 1) ----

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere and call it "Original Phone Dialer Images"
Copy over the the following Phone Dialer .gif images from the windows directory of your phone to the directory you just made on your PC:

---------------------------------------------------------
--- STEP 2: ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DATA!!!!! ----
---------------------------------------------------------
Once all of the image files are copied over to your pc create a .ZIP file of this directory.
If you have WinZip installed, right-click on the folder, left-click "Add to Original Phone Dialer Images.zip"
NOTE: this zip file is your backup of the original image files!!!
Once you have your ZIP file nicely tucked away where you won't lose it proceed to the fun part!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--- STEP 3: Find your Inner Child and hand him a paint brush! ---
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Open up your favorite image editor (I used Adobe Photoshop CS2)
Load each image 1 at a time into your image editor.
Be sure to take note of the size of the button inside the image, my advice is to match it quite closely.
After you edit an image YOU MUST save it as the same file type and same name.
Once you have modified all of your images to your liking close your image editor.
------------------------------------------------------------------
--- STEP 4: Be a 1337 HAX0R! (if only for a moment) ---
------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok this part will require a 3rd party application, what you will need to do is kill the "cprog.exe" process. This is the Phone process.
To accomplish this I used the program "Pocket Controller-Professional 5.04", which you can download for free (demo version):
The File: http://www.soti.net/files/PCPro504Setup.exe
The Site: http://www.soti.net
Once installed, execute the program, connect to your phone.
Once connected, at the top of the Pocket Controller interface there is a horizontal "Main Menu".
On the Main Menu click "Tools", then within the Tools menu click "Task Manager"
Once Task Manager is open highlight "cprog.exe" and click the "Kill Process" button.
-------------------------------------------------------------
--- STEP 5: Copy & Paste / Drag & Drop (Part 2) ---
-------------------------------------------------------------
Locate the folder with all of your modified saved images & copy them back into the Windows directory on your phone, when prompted, choose "Yes to All" to overwrite the originals.
-------------------------------------------
--- STEP 6: SMILE! SMILE! SMILE! ---
-------------------------------------------
Once all the files are copied back over to your phone make a phone call & look at the nice pretty colors. Call your best friend and tell them how some wild and crazy guy just hooked you up and taught you how to tweak your phone!
Included are 2 screen shots taken using Pocket Controller's Screen Capture command. the ONLY thing i did to them was to black out my area code
(and for those paying attention, included in my list of files are more than just the dial pad files.... )
- John
So... does doing this "trick" will enlarge the button?
Or just changing the color...

voice command via bluetooth

Is there a registry tweak to activate voice command through bluetooth earpiece as there is for universal?
The specific universal registry tweak is not possible because the stated folder is missing.
I have a Jabra BT250 and when I hit the Jabra button voice command activates automatically, I haven't done any registry tweak.
NOTE: TyTN upgrading is not the best forum to place this kind of questions, it would have been better to ask this on the accessories forum, or in the general TyTN forum.
Thanks for the reply. I am referring to Microsoft VoiceCommand 1.5, if this is what you are referring to as well than this is good news.
Note: Isn't this the general TyTn forum?

Microsoft VoiceCommand is a great improvement on the built in (if your native tongue is English) and there is a good Universal hack to get it used over bluetooth headset...so I was hoping to find a similar hack for TyTn.
So if anybody knows about a solution...please share.
I believe the latest version of Tweaks 2k2 has a tweak for that, I have had some problems with it where it activates, but then replies via the handset, will try to reinstall, when i flash the rom
For those of you who would rather use MS Voice Command instead of the built-in Cyberon Voice Dialer (and who wouldn't...), try this tweak (courtesy of MobiltyToday). I've been using the TyTN with a Motorola HS850 headset for about a week now, and it works great!
-------------------------
Installing Voice Command on K-JAM/Cingular 8125/HTC TyTN
1. Cyberon's Voice Speed Dial software is embedded with the OS and not as an addon through the Extended ROM. The only way to disable it is to delete the shortcut in the \Windows\Start Menu as well as the SDDaemon.lnk file in the \Windows\Startup folder.
2. Install Microsoft Voice Command normally. You may be prompted with an erroneous error message saying it's going to install in Main Memory, which is fine. Just continue with the installation.
3. The installation will reassign the Messaging button to Voice Command, but you probably want to give that back to the Messaging or other favorite applet. Reassign the Voice Speed Dial button to launch Voice Command.
4. Lastly, you must modify this registry entry in order to use your Bluetooth headset with Voice Command:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand Path = "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCmd.exe
Clearing out the traces of Voice Speed Dial
1. In these registry locations:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Shell \ Extensions \ ContextMenus \ Contacts \ Main_ContextMenu
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Shell \ Extensions \ ContextMenus \ Contacts \ Main_Tools
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Shell \ Extensions \ ContextMenus \ Contacts \ Summary_Tools
----> Remove this key entirely: {2C0E9904-F32D-4f53-875F-479F5CA81E18}
2. In this registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ ControlPanel Remove this key entirely: VoiceTagCPL
3. In this registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ OEM \ VoiceCommand Change this value: Path = \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCmd.exe
4. In this folder: \Windows\Startup Remove this file: SDDaemon.lnk
5. Reassign the Voice button in Buttons applet under Settings to Voice Command.
Now, soft-reset your device and that should do it. Cyberon's Voice Speed Dial is out of the picture. That is, until you hard reset, then it all comes back.
Thanks! I've updated the wiki with this information:

2. Already install a2dp profile and audigw.dll versi 1.33 for 2 additional new menu to pairing "High Quality Audio setup and Connect to a keyboard".
3. Service Handsfree I only check box the enable service, neither Authorization, Authentication.
4. Using Nokia HS-36W Bluetooth Headset
I already install cyberon voice speed dial, but the bluetooth headset voice dial can't directly use it. O2 XDA Trion an Parrot CK 300 Evolution + Voice Command
I'm using my Trion with a parrot ck 3000 evolution and voice command. With the above registry hack i'm able to activate ms vc and i can give commands to it through my parrot. But after a few second (aprox. 15 sec) while vc is reading the numbers form my dialing contact the trion disconnects form the parrot and is talking trough it's own loudspeaker. When the call starts it reconnects to the parrot and i can talk without any problems.
Does anyone have the same problem? Is there a fix?
ok, using resco file explorer to alter the registry as above got me nothing at the end of the day for some reason...
When I hold the button on the headphone/headset that came with the Tytn, it goes back to the voice speed dial.
When i use the speech button on the side of the Tytn, it goes to the microsoft voice command...
Any advice?
Thanks
did some more checking, and it seems that in the path where we are supposed to put : Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCmd.exe
keeps changing itself back to SDDialer everytime i do the soft reset and try it out.
Also, the folder VoicetagCPL keeps comming back also for some reason...
Any ideas? I am thinking that it has something to do with me not useing a bluetooth headset, but the standard headset that comes with the Tytn....
EDIT: I managed to get everything as it should, but I still cannot get the Microsoft VC to kick in when I hold down the button on the standard headset. I don't have bluetooth headphones right now to try (I had some Plantronics yesterday but returned them today due to lousy SQ), so I am back to the stnadard piece.
Anyone know how to make the standard HTC Tytn earphones work with teh microsoft voice command??
Also, despite doing all of the registry hacks, the voice speed dial is STILL there and kicks in when i hold down the button on the earphones... how perplexing...
My original problem was that I could not find the path as suggested in step 4 below (which works fine on the Universal). I still cannot find the VoiceCommand under the OEM folder. Any suggestions?
4. Lastly, you must modify this registry entry in order to use your Bluetooth headset with Voice Command:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand Path = "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCmd.exe
Goesteleven,
Any solutions for thos of us who don't have the path (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand Path) in our registry?
Thanks,
Some things I've noticed in using these tweaks (and the first two are important)
- by default some of the files that you need to delete are "HIDDEN." File Explorer will not show them (you'll need a 3rd party file manager like Resco that can show hidden files, and even Resco by default won't show hidden files). If you don't delete them, particularly the SDDdaemon in the \Windows\Startup folder, resetting the device will undo all your good work.
- in general Registry changes have a nasty way of disappearing unless you've switched to "File-based Registry" with a program like
Tweaks2k2
- If you don't have the registry key listed for VoiceCommand path, why not simply add it?
How do I add the registry key listed? Thanks

(27 February 2008) S2P v0.17 - Slide2Play (CLOSED)

Hey guys, (29-02-2008)
I'm sorry to tell you that I have to suspend the development of this application for a while until I found or develop another decorder library. The reason is that S2P has used the MAD library which is under the terms of GPLv2. Under the terms of GPLv2, S2P has to open its source to the public if it's distributed to the public. Obviously, I haven't done that and not willing to do so. So, I have to stop distributing it to the public.
However, again, thank you for your support to S2P.
Cheers,
A_C

Hey guys, (27-02-2008)
S2P is my third S2 series application. S2P is a stylus-free MP3/OGG player application. It simply lets you browse your music files & play.
Prerequisition:
- WM5 Phone or WM6 Professional devices
- free RAM: at least 3M for QVGA
v0.17
- added preliminary AVRCP support to those devices use Broadcom BT.
- further lowered CPU usage when minimized, about 50% of the previous version.
- added option (SaveLastMusic) to reload the last playing music. (read the Settings section below for details)
- added option (AlwaysLoadAlbumPic) to always load an album art for each music. But if you've already organised the music files in folders, it's not necessary to enable it so as to safe battery life. (read the Settings section below for details)
- fixed cannot retrieve some ID3 embedded album arts.
- some minor bugs fixed.
v0.15 (25-02-2008)
- added volume control by DPAD Up/Down.
- added ID3 embedded album art.
- lowered CPU usage when minimized.
- fixed occasional file name mismatch issue when navigating.
v0.12 (22-02-2008)
- added album navigation keys - Left soft key to go to previous album; Right soft key to next.
(besides, it can also be done by sliding the screen to right/left)
- fixed the single channel problem on some devices.
- fixed the slow response of the on-screen volume control.
- lowered the screen refresh rate (should help some slow devices).
- some minor bugs fixed.
v0.10 (20-02-2008)
- initial release.
Installation:
- Under your PC/MAC/device, extract the content of the downloaded file & copy the CAB file to your device.
- Under your device, run any File Explorer application; go to the folder where the CAB file is copied; run the CAB file.
Operations:

- Since S2P simply scans music files in your storage card, it's suggested to have your music files well organized by folders. So that you can browse your music files through the folders instead of a plain list. (e.g. \Artist Name\Album Name\Music title.mp3)
- When browsing, press the folder name to list all music files under that folder, including subfolders; or press the arrow button to list the subfolders.
- Press any one of the filename to play.
- To go back to the music file list, press the top left back button.
- To view the current album list, press the top right icon. Then press any one on the list to play that music.
- To go back to the single music view, press the top right icon again.
- On the single music view, tap the screen to call up the timeline. Press the left repeat icon to repeat the current playing album; press the right shuffle icon to play the whole music list randomly. When both icons are on, only the current album will be played randomly.
- The hardware keys are:
End - minimize
Vol Up/Down or DPAD Up/Down - volume control
DPAD Action - play/pause
DPAD Left/Right - previous/next
Left/Right soft key - previous/next album
Power/Record - turn screen off
For details, as usual, please read the README.TXT file or the next post.
Besides, please read the README FIRST, especially the Known limitations & FAQs before posting your questions here.
Finally, if you like S2P, pls CLICK HERE to make a donation. Thanks.
Settings, Known limitations & FAQs
Settings:
The behaviour of S2P can be altered by changing the following registry values stored at \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2P\
- OffLCD - the no. of timeout seconds that S2P will turn off the screen when using battery; default is 25.
- ACOffLCD - the no. of timeout seconds that S2P will turn off the screen when using external power; default is 0 (disabled).
- SaveLastMusic - remember the last playing music when quit; default is 1 (enabled).
- AlwaysLoadAlbumPic - always try to search for an album pic when playing each music file; default is 0 (disabled).
Known limitations & FAQs:
Q. Do I have to install the old version before using this version?
A. No.
Q. How to use the .CAB file?
A. http://www.google.com/search?q=install+cab
Q. Do I have to install S2U2 before installing S2P?
A. No. But if you have installed S2U2, make sure you have updated your S2U2 to 0.99p or later. Otherwise S2P will be stopped by S2U2.
Q. What music files can S2P play?
A. MP3 & OGG.
Q. Will there be other plug-in to support other file formats?
A. Probably.
Q. How to turn off the screen when playing music?
A. Press the Power button or the record button.
Q. How to adjust the auto screen off timeout?
A. Edit the registry - under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2P\, edit the keys OffLCD & ACOffLCD (in seconds). OffLCD is for use when using battery; while ACOffLCD is for external power. The default value of OffLCD is 25 & ACOffLCD is 0.
Q. S2P shows weird characters for the music info?!
A. Try to resave those info in ID3V2.4 format.
Q. How to have cover shown on S2P?
A. Either the music file already has cover pic embedded or you have to copy the cover file (either cover.jpg or folder.jpg) to the corresponding album folder.
Q. Does S2P support A2DP?
A. Yes, as long as your device has a proper OS.
Q. Does S2P support AVRCP?
A. Yes, if your device used Broadcom BT. For others, if you know how to do that or if you have spare time and eager to aid me to find the solution, you can PM me at the xda forum.
Q. Does S2P support playlist?
A. No, not yet.
Q. Does S2P have function similar to CoverFlow?
A. No, not yet.
Q. Does S2P integrated with S2U2?
A. No, not yet.
Q. The system icons on the top bar do not update?!
A. Yes. They only show the start status. But the battery level icon is up-to-date.
Q. Why S2U2, S2V & S2P are all free?
A. Because MS has left them in the factory.

Great App. Many Thanks for A_C. Can you add more Equalize function by next Version? Sorry for my English
Hey guys! I found that if you slide left to right on the screen, It will jump to the next song! when slide right to left, the current song restart from the beginning!
I try to slide twice to let it jump to the prev song but It doesn't work every time.
Nice gesture feature! But I didn't see A_C mention this in the 1st and 2nd post, why?
Thank A_C ...
1 - Key Mapping ...
2 - Support Playlist
3 - Gesture does not work at home, left-right and right-left restart music
4 - power do not work (asus p535 - Music play but S2U2 0.99p displayed without cutting the music while the Record button off the screen and dpad always works)
5 - Equalizer maybe
6 - A_C, i want more kiss Your Ass ...
Edit/
Correction ... The change in music through gestures work after a soft reset ...

Hp 614c sound

Somebody mentioned a registry tweak for sound volume on 614c. There is a key located somewhere in HKEY_Local_machine that U can edit and change a value from 3 to 6 and increase the volume significantly. But I can't find the deamn thing. Anybody knows where to find it?

I have seen a post about changing registry keys in Local Machine Registry in Control from P to blank, as in delete the P which takes the volume out of "Phone" mode. I have not seen the 3 to 6 post, I will look for it.

Mobile Vista SeaDragon 4.0 sends Mio A701 You Tube, by ansar

Dear forum members,
Update for Speaker On fix during a call we can do this:
From Start\Task Manager\regedit we go to: HKLM\Drivers\Speaker
and we change the name value from SPK1: to WAV1:
I will also prepare and upload a small cab to do this registry update.
This is the updated Rom for Mio A701: WWE-WM6.1-CE-OS-5.2.21109-Build-21109.1.6.0, Mobile Vista 4.00 SeaDragon.
With this rom Mio A701 is now capable among many new features to play You Tube videos.
The CE image is based on the Official WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.21109 ( Build 21109.1.6.0 ).
This SeaDragon 4.00 Version is completely different than previous rom builds, so let see again the details:
1. Memory Management.
.. New memory and storage memory modules have been introduced that speed up all relevant operations and
.... increase the overall device performance.
.. These modules are to support both xip and sys parts of the rom and relevant registry settings are improved.
.. The registry parts i.e. default and user, are completely redesigned and expanded.
.. I believe that this rom is close to 95 percent of the rom of the htc tytn ii device.
2. Power Management.
.. New Power management service has been implemented
.. Backlight.cpl and Power.cpl modules are not redirected to the relevant *.exe in order for new languages to be displayed natively.
.. The backlight.cpl accepts 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 2min, 3min, 4min and 5 min on battery power.
.. All icons of AllInOne are working and one more are included in the icon tray.
.. The so long inactive green battery icon is now working and displays the backlight.cpl module.
... After flashing, as bellow is described, i tested for mane power off and resets and for some days up to now, and is working fine.
... From that icon we change screen's brightness immediately but do not change the backlight timeout.
.. The icon battery in the Task Bar top right is directed to the power.exe module.
... From this module the backlight timeout can be changed and take place immediately at 10sec, 30sec, 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min and 5min.
... Do not change the screen's brightness from this module cause this is vise versa in horizontal direction and a reset is needed for settings to be applied.
3. The Phone
.. Phone is fixed with the implementation of callserv.dll, tkitloader.dll 's and a small in code fix but lot of time to create it.
.. Now in Start\Programs you will see your providers menu lnk, for instance Vodafone Menu (*.lnk)
.. During first rom release it is reported that the fix works in all countries around the world.
.. In phone settings we see many new tabs at the bottom of the screen that allows many new functions.
.. In the last tab you can set automatic call receiving i.e. after 1, 2 or .. rings that is good when driving and bluetooth is enabled.
.. It seems that the radio rom download is possible so we may start cooking the radio rom too.
4. Calls Over Bluetooth.
.. When receiving a call we can activate the phone and voice with one (1) click on the bluetooth device multi task button.
.. After finishing our conversation, we can deactivate the phone again with one (1) click on multi task button.
.. This is valid with the first call only during a bluetooth session.
.. In the second and next calls it is a little tricky and undocumented. Please think of your safety first when driving a car.
.. With one click first we activate the phone receiving and next with a double (quick) click on multi task button we activate voice receiving.
.. Remember that after finishing our conversation, we apply a double click to deactivate voice and then a single click to deactivate the phone.
.. As previously said is safer when driving to enable automatic phone activation after desired number or rings and use a single clicks.
5. Audio Management.
.. All audio functions have been reworked and now you can play:
.. .aac, .3gp, .3g2, .3gpp, .m4a, .m4v, .mp3, .mp4, .wmv, .amr, .rmi, .rv, .ra .rm and .rma audio and video in windows media player.
.. Files with .rm , .rma, .rv and .ra requires Q8real.cab to be installed.
.. I am working for further development in order to include .avi and some more codecs.
.. If a .3gp file is not working in video or audio, you can rename it to .3gpp and test it.
.. The provided Audio Manager includes an audio booster and is required for A2DP stereo listening.
6. Blue Tooth wireless stereo.
.. Wireless Stereo has been reworked and the provided a2dp is almost lag/skip free.
.. It is required to cradle the device in mains power and set it from e-Utility to Super Performance or for no lag/skip with XCPUScalar to 624 MHZ.
.. It was tested with BB-02 wireless stereo head phone with very good results.
.. A2DP Toggle -1.1 of Teksoftco is provided in a cab with very good performance.
.. When driving please follow the rules and stop at the emergency lane when making or receiving a call.
7. Obex over Blue Tooth.
.. Obex File Transport is supported and you can send/receive files with btcrawler, total commander and fexplorer easily.
8. Blue Tooth over Activesync.
.. You can connect your device wireless and have control of all your windows and SD card files.
.. In order to connect we must enable advanced network functionality from Start\Settings\Connections\USB to PC.
.. There is a small procedure in Hacking and Development of how to, if you face a problem.
.. In short we first activesync our device with a USB cable connection and then over bluetooth.
9. WiFi/Wlan Management.
.. New functions and drivers are provided in order to speed up your file transfer operations.
.. I did not test them myself due to a new card delivery delays.
a. D3D drivers.
.. D3D drivers are tested and working as you can test it from Start\Programs\Apps with D3Ddemo, Lights3D and Text3D.
b. User Interfaces.
.. You can have the simple windows mobile, Htc Home, Htc Home Diamond and Manila 2D Sea Dragon interfaces.
.. In the provided VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 library all cabs can be installed manually as desired.
.. A special manual procedure is described bellow in order to have you Tube with the minimum cabs and maximum remaining program and storage space.
.. An SDConfig.txt file is provided with the a simple reset function or we can flash without the SD card in the slot.
c. Applications.
The applications included inside the rom and in the VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 library are as follows:

C. Instructions to successfully flash the rom CE image
Here bellows are the instructions to successfully flash it.
Unzip the downloaded file: Mio_A701_WWE_WM6.1.21109.MobileVista4.00SeaDragon_by_ansar.zip
and in the created directory you will have the following:
1. This readme.txt file.
2. The VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 directory with the subdirectories:
3. The control text file SDConfig.txt of a single rest instruction.
4. The rom binary image Mio_A701_WWE_WM6.1.21109.MobileVista4.00SeaDragon_by_ansar.bin
Before flashing we make a backup of our files in Storage Card using the Data Backup Program or PIM Backup from my previous roms or your favorite backup.
In case you do not have a backup application install the Backup.cab (is PIMBackup) found in the VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 directory.
Use the same backup application you used to save your data in order to recover them after flashing.
Place the VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 dir and the SDConfig.txt file in the Storage Card and
flash the Mio_A701_WWE_WM6.1.21109.MobileVista4.00SeaDragon_by_ansar.bin image file as follows:
a. Enter Mio A701 in boot loader menu by pressing and holding Volume UP and then also pressing and holding the Power On button.
.... When led power on, release both buttons and press the navi down key in order to enter to boot loader.
.... Press Navi Down to go to FlashROM Upgrade by USB and press the central Navi key to select this sub menu.
.... Then press Navi Down to go to CE img By USB and press the central Navi key to select this option.
.... Wait to see the message Waiting for image...
b. Check that in a PC/Laptop have unchecked the Allow USB connections option before connecting.
.... Connect Mio A701 to a PC/Laptop with a usb cable.
.... In Windows Vista we must have the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Center, the Mio A701 Drivers and ScoterRomUpdate-R01.exe installed.
c. Place the Mio_A701_WWE_WM6.1.21109.MobileVista4.00SeaDragon_by_ansar.bin, run ScoterRomUpdate-R01.exe and follow the instructions.
d. After the successful flashing of the rom, in your device select exit, and then:
..... 1. if Uboot 48 is installed in the device, select the Enter Deepsleep option and then perform a Hard Reset.
....... Hard Reset is enabled by pressing and holding Volume Down key and then pressing the power button.
....... When a vibration is activated, release both keys.
..... 2. if not Uboot 48, select WatchDog reset.
e. Remember to tick again the Allow USB connections option in your PC in order to activesync by USB cable connection later on.
The Rom flashing process will perform as follows:
a. Loads all splash screens, performs the welcome screen and displays the initial Today screen.
b. Then loads Mobile_Vista theme and installs the cabs that reside in the rom.
c. Executes the reset instruction of SDConfig.txt and
d. Will finish after machine's final Reset and final boot.
e. The device displays the phone security pin entry procedure and after that enters in Mobile Windows today screen.
f. Now we start the manual cab installation exactly as follows:
... If not already, insert your Storage Card in the side slot and cradle your device to mains power due to the 10sec timeout and to preserve battery.
... With total commander we go to the Storage Card\VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 directory and select CabsToWindows directory.
... We find and double click on M2DSeaDragon.cab and perform installation in Windows. We reset device by side reset hole using stylus.
... We find and double click on StreamingMedia.cab and again perform installation in Windows. We reset device by click on OK.
... We find and double click on YouTube.cab and do as in previous line.
... We find and double click on SeaDragonFiles.cab and again perform installation in Windows.
... We Power off the device and then power on again.
... Now everything will be working as designed.
... In order for the You Tube to connect and display we need:
... 1. The phone to be connected to our mobile operator
... 2. A fast ADSL line for internet connection and
... 3. To actvesync our device over bluetooth or wi-fi with a PC/Laptop.
... Welcome to the You Tube era with your device first among few devices, and not only.
... Other cabs from Storage Card\VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 directory are optional.
... You tube need 10MB free in order to run, so do not over cab your device.
... A good option is to install AudioManager.cab and XCPUScalar.cab for best Audio and extreme A2DP no skip functionality.
Note 1: The new keyboard layout has options for small and big letters
and it is predefined to initial setup of small letters.
Note 2: The key of Windows Player is assigned to Start Menu activation and
Note 3: The key of navigation is assigned to <OK/close> for better performance.
Note 4: Regedit (the one part of task manager) and Total Commander are assigned in the known inside touch keys.
Note 5: As you already noticed all screens (initial splash, windows welcome and AutoRun) are redesigned as well as
the Mobile_Vista.tsk theme, the Comm Manager, the Phone, the Audio Manager and the Streaming Media player.
Note 6: Internet explorer has two new home screens.
The first has help, IE Home, HTC Home and Xda Developers.
If you tap on IE Home the well known iexplorer home screen is seen.
When you tap on menu>tools>options you can set the current, IE home as home page.
You can always go back to the first page from menu>tools>options and setting use default.
Note 7: The well known SRS WOW HD driver is in the rom as package for enhanced HD sound.
Note 8: The bottom screen plug-in has eight small buttons where from left to right you can have:
- The hdspa (prestidge) icon
- The green for on off the phone
- The Gps ephemeris activation
- The memory
- The bluetooth
- The battery icon for the power.cpl
- The screen rotation button.
More icons can be seen as:
- If XCPUSCALAR is activated three icons are installed, for reset, suspend and xcpuscalar.
- If Task Manager is activated and minimized, a small icon of TM is also installed.
- When buetooth is activated an extra flashing bt icon is installed.
- When activesync over bluetooth is activated another icon is revealed.
Note 9: If Visual GPSce application is installed for Sirf or NMEA protocol then you can have
plenty of screens for almost any gps info. The bottom right flashing icon is green when fix is made
and can be blue when differential gps signal is received, depending on differential satellites found.
Note a: The S2U2 is redesigned and starts automatically when SDConfig.txt option is selected.
From Start>Programs>Apps>S2u2 Settings you can set up S2U2 when the cab is installed manually.
Note b: From Start>Programs>Apps you can test D3D drivers that can achieve more than 50 fps.
There are three apps as D3DMdemo, Lights3D and Text3D.
Note c: All cab files included in VistaLibWWE21109MVSD4_00 dir can be installed also manually.
I hope you will fall in love again your precious Mio A701 that among few devices can explore You Tube.
Till next version enjoy!!!
Regards, ansar

Mio A701 ROM
Hello Mr. Ansar,
I have flashed my Mio A701 with few ROM's you have posted. And with every ROM my GPS is not working. Every program that I installed for GPS navigation says to me that cannot find a GPS device. Have you maybe some advice for me? Have you maybe the native ROM Windows mobile 5.0 for the Mio A701, because with that ROM my GPS on the device worked?
Thank you in advance!
Luka
