just wondering does Tom Tom play a warning sound if you pass a poi or if one is coming up....
if it does not then will the following program work on the wizard?
http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/
It will if you tell it to, you can even specify how far in advance it sounds the warning
speaking of POIs, where can I download some for USA?
oh yeh thanks for that mate

GetPOIEdit and have a look at www.poihandler.com , or
www.poihandler.com/poisv2.xml to be exact
I looks like you have to populate the database yourself.
I found this: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtompoi.php
but USA is very limited. Anyone know what US States (48) suppose to mean? What's in the database?
UK has some nice databases.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is any freeware version of speed camera warning software for the UK, compatible with TOMTOM3. I know its a longshot but what the hell!
Anyway if not, what is the cheapest/best one available.
Your experiences please.
Thanks
Hi,
This one works fine.

Not tried it until now, but i'm nearly 100% sure, that they are available via synchronisation. It workes fine for me. You can not download them manualy and install them to your device. You have to synchronize the,. So you're able to keep them easy uptodate.
Try it out. It's for free.
Stefan
Are you saying that download comes with them?? Ie the UK ones?
Try www.pocketgps.co.uk, click on speed cameras on the left and you'll get to a database of all UK cameras. I use it with POIWarner, which was very cheap and very good
Anyone know where you can get free POI's from? I know, I'm a cheapskate.
Sorry, Gotta feed the kids!
I NEED to do this...
Don't speed, so you don't need a warner ;-)
I know, this help's a lot.
I completely agree with you.
I have been driving for 10 years. No points and no collisions! Thank God!
However, i frequently have to drive late at night , when the roads are empty. Sometimes I may go 35 when the speed is 30!
A warning system would be good!

Pretty good i think (personally). I used to have a snooper S6-r neo and pay for the updates and that wasn't better!
We have a little over 3000 camera sites plus red light cameras and mobile locations.
Unlike the majority of other Safety Camera databases we still maintain a human input to weed out duplicates and erronous submissions.
The actual number of camera locations in the UK has never been revealed, it was rumoured to be 5000 but I'm reliably told that it's nearer 4000 physival locations with mobile sites making up the remainder.
TRY THIS

It is specifically against our Ts&Cs for our database to be published on other websites. Please remove the post. If anyone needs access to it they can download it freely at:

Freelockuk Thanks for that .
Griffog, sorry, its probably my fault for raising this post. Unfortunately I am not a moderator and hence cannot remove it ,thought I already found it and did download it from your website yesterday.
While you are here... On the site it says,
"Email us either your OV2 file or ASC file and we will work out which cameras we don't have and which cameras we do have. Please be careful when adding cameras not to add false ones"
How do I actually update the ov2 file. I am running TT3 with Checkpoint.
There is a new Truvelo round the corner from me and would like to add it in the database.
regards

If your phone's screen is landscape, create a 293x240 png image and name it cprogback_land and drop it in the Windows folder.
If your screen is QVGA, create a 240x293 png image and name it cprogback and drop it in the Windows folder.
That should do the trick!

Nope.
Look at any .xml file and you see that:
"<plugin clsid="{837FC251-FE69-43ad-84E0-EBCEDEBA0884}" name="iconbar" height="27">"
so the the background image for the landscape calling is: 240 px - 27px (upper bar) - 27px (bottom bar) = 186px.
PS: Changin' this landscape affecting only the incoming calls not the outgoing calls (at least this happens on my device).

Athens!
I've often dream to make a long long journey through Greece to see what Alexander the Great saw when leaved his Pella. Smelling the air of the Thermopylis and the raging ruins of Messana and... many many other places, so many that all the servers of the so much glorified and used World Wide Web cannot list, and never might.
PS: It's really a pity that History and your country ignores each other. "The Ancient Romans conquered Greece with force but Greece conquered them with its philosophy" (maybe you heard this sentence before: it's sad, in many senses).

That process works perfectly and only takes a couple of minutes. Just use the 1.1 modified cab and follow the directions. it really only takes a few minutes
I used v1.2 this also worked perfectly on my HD
I get an error message with these cabs. Is there another process to go through?

Hi,
Is there a simple database available that will link my PC to my Touch HD?
So if i make any changes on the Touch HD, i just sync the Touch HD and it updates the database on the PC! or VICE VERSA
I need to view the code too..
thanks in advance
what kind of database are you talking about?
you mean something like a program on the HD that will form a list of something then sync it to the same list on the pc?
