On my dopod 900, I use keyboard SIP and PlumSIP, I wanna switch between then quickly.
But Fn+SYM or PQZ doesn't work properly,I try vijay555's SIPSwitch,but it's hard to use.
So I wrote one to switch between different SIP.
First map it to one hardward key,
Then press the key, it change the SIP to next SIP in the system SIP list and show the input panel.
BTW , if u want switch between some peculiar input method, u can use POCKET TWEAK to hide others.
Sorry for my poor english.
thanks a lot !!!
it's what I, not only me but all the chinese, need.
thanks million times.
I also want to know the exact way of hiding some input method, as I have been searching for the POCKET TWEAK you mentioned, but don't get any outcoming.
u can got it from here

You're really unbelievable! FTSwitchSIP comes out just one day after you posted to try to find some tool to switch SIP. Many Chinese users of Dopod 838 and 900, known as Wizard and Universel here, have been searching for such a tool for a long time. I am just one of them who is lucky to find it out first.
I've shared your amazing tool in the pdafans forum, I hope you won't mind.
http://bbs.pdafans.com/viewthread.php?tid=203195
Thanks a lot.
Got PocketTweak.
there seems no direct way of hinding input method.
Would you show me some hints?
I think it has a bug here. I have been using the rom of Traditional Chinese. Got several input methods. And hide some of them with Pocket teak. And install CE and PlumSIP. Now I have 3 input methods. 1. Zhuying ( as default) 2. Mengtian Hand Writing 3. PlumSIP. At the beginning, the switch seems ok. I am very glad and thankful. But when I swicth several times, it stuck and both plumSIP and Mengtian displayed. The PPC is hanged. Only reset can make it work.
Thanks your reply.
I'll update it on this weekend.
I wanna add some setting and test it again.
thanks a lot.
I've been searching for such software a lot.
error when toggling to pocketcm keyboard
It toggles to all the oem sips but when it reaches pcm keyboard in the list I get "sipsetcurrentIM Error=0".
Any ideas I'm getting really frustrated with nothaving a decent sip.

the tool works fine.. maybe u can try to hide sme OEM sips u dont use and try awain.. may be a memory issue
How do I go about that then - just delete the registry reference to them?
Also can anyone give me a tip on how to locate specific bits of the registry - it took me ages to find the registry entry to pcm keyboard (i'm using regedit).

works perfectly with ipaq hx2495 (WM5)! thanks for posting this cool app!
OMG! Thank you for this. Actualy, I figured out that it's a last thing that I need to be happy with my Artemis. To be able to change small stylus-friendly SIP which I'm used to use in my office to somethig finger-friendly when I'm on the streed by HW button.
Thanks!
What about new version with ability to setup two SIP to cycle just between them? - but as I said, I'm completely hapy as it is.

Is there any way to set the default method for entering text? I want to set my Jam up so that whenever I open the messaging program it goes straight to the T9 input method, regardless of what has been used for entering text in the past
Ta!
I think tweaks2k and possibly cetuner allow you to change the default SIP.
You can also try my program SipSwitch.

Wow! Quick reply!
Thanks for that. I'm interested in your idea on one of your numerous other threads regarding mapping a hardware button that will cycle between the various methods. Thats exactly what I'm after so I'll wait and see how that pans out.
Keep up the good work buddy, more and more of your software appears on my Jam by the day!
Mark
Thanks burnso
I've got an idea for a major PPC mod, but that's going to take some hacking. But I quite like the idea of the rolling sip menu, so I'll try to get it out first.

I'm intrigued! I'll watch with interest
So glad I found this site!!!
In the mean time, congrats on the aforementioned jail sentence *ahem* I mean nuptials ;-)
Hi there,
THis is a strange one:
On a fresh hard resetted K-jam, I'm not able anymore to select other input methods than the standard installed ones. I tried with Fitaly, MessagEase and TextPlus but the show up in the list but when I select them, I get the standard keyboard!
The strange thing is that when I bought my K-Jam, Fitaly would work. Then I noticed that Fitaly wasn't completely compatible with 2005 so I uninstalled. Of course ( ) this wasn't done properly by the OS so I manually removed some keys in the register so Fitaly wouldn't show up anymore in the input method list. From that moment on I couldn't select any other alternative input methods anymore.
I thought a fresh hard reset would solve it but I guess not...
Why not? :?:

Same problem here. Have a 9100 and no special input software installed. I want to use the phonepad input, but when I configure it in the setting menu it switches back to the basic keyboard. Anyone have a solution for this problem?
There's a standard registry hack to do this. search for sip and registry or check the usual places.
Otherwise, use tweaks 2k.
Otherwise, use my sipswitch program as a last resort.

Hi Vijay555,
I checked your website. Nice tools there!
But were can I find the sipswitch and why use it as a last resort?
Wouter
on this board. search for sipswitch.
it needs updating before it goes on my site, but it works, i hope!.
v
Hi Vijay555,
The download link to the sipswitch file is not working anymore. Do you have a copy of the file somewhere?
Wouter
wouterk: try it again, I've updated the post on that thread, but here you go anyway!
Links to the app.
V
Hi Vijay555,
The download is working but the program doesn't do the trick I wanted (change to the input of my choice)
Too bad but thanks for the program!
Wouter
does it work at all, eg switch to keyboard with the keyboard command line parameter etc?
I've never tested it on WM5 but it should work...
V
Hi Vijay555,
It does work on a commandline for:
Flexslide and Speedscript but I'm able to switch between those two most of the time even without your tool. It does work somehow because just now I couldn't get Flexslide activated and with your tool from the command line it worked!
It doesn't work somehow with MessagEase. I can't switch to MessagEase at all no mather what I try. So there must be something different in MassagEasse compared with the other two... :?:
Wouter
It sometimes depends exactly how the SIP is named. I've not tried it on many odd SIPs, but if you read the SIPSwitch thread I know some peeps had some experiences and advice on oddly named sips. Tell me how it goes.
V
Hi! I also posted this in the Wiz thread, but all you app makers might not check all threads so I post it here too if it is ok.
I have been searching for an app to easily change input method.
While driving I have my 9100 set in portrait and when receiving a message I would like to swap input method from block rec. to phonepad easily. The tiny arrow is very difficult to hit while sitting in the car.
Anyone know an app or can figure out a way to solve this?
It's a very old app, but have a look at this one I wrote. It needs updating to be more usable, but should do what you ask.

Thanks vijay, I will try it out!
It works perfect, thanks vijay. I use it in combination with mortbuttons. I am very happy now, the only thing I miss now is to have the wifi on/off in the system tray.
Still waiting for the official qtek aku 2 rom update.
I've read some earlier msg. regarding Resco Keyboard Pro apparently clashing with something on the TyTN. Has anybody been able to get this utility to work consistently? I have the latest version, released after I reported this problem to Resco some weeks ago and they told me this release, 4.35, solves it. After installing RKB is seems to work OK but within hours it stops working and only the standard WM5 virtual keyboard will popup -- RKB will not even operate.
I am currently using it, and it works fine. I had sometime the default keyboard that poped out when I softreseted my phone, but it didnt happend for a long time by now
please search the forum : keyword 'resco' or 'sipchange' without quote. t.q.

Same here, sometimes after a soft reset it won't be enabled, one time it wouldn't start, and I had to softreset to get it to work, other than that it seems to be ok....the only times I notice it not being enabled is mainly when I have been installing or removin software

read his other post and the first line of this one...he is aware of the search function...just be helpful or "please" stfu
I've disabled the standard keyboard and Symbols right after installed Resco with SK Tools. Now I have Resco Keyboard and Paragon PenReader as SIPs and have no a problem so far. But I did have problems with the standard and Symbols.
Excuse my ignorance but why would you need virtual keyboard when you have hardware keyboard with TyTN?

Honestly before I got my tytn, and it being my first pda I thought I would always use the hardware keyboard, at first it was all I used, but I have a problem with the tops of my T and Y keys being scuffed by sliding the unit open..so I started using the sip keyboard and just got where I liked it better, also I got where I liked the portrait mode more also, I can use the scroll wheel easier and such...its just kinda grown on me I suppose.
I still use the hardware keyboard when I do my postings on here, just because I can punch it out faster, but I don't like it better...my thumbs are a bit big and I have to use my nails..and they tend to slide to the side of the keys cause they are bubble shaped...it would be nicer if the tops were concave, but when I do any googling or such its just a whole lot easier to type a couple words with the sip keyboard in the search box than to slide the unit open, plus even if your keys don't scuff like mine..you are creating wear, its just a normal occurrence when you have friction.
I'm sure other people have their reasons, those are just mine.
Anybody able to get tengo working on their athena?
I've got a Dopod U1000. It will install and sometimes work for a while after hard resets/reinstalls, but always stops working suddenly and won't come back. By that, I mean that I can see tengo as an SIP option, but choosing it only brings up the standard WM keyboard.
I don't think there's a conflict because it stops working without any new apps being installed or settings being changed.
Anybody having better luck or have advice?
Thanks,
Rob

there is a problem with wm5 sip management....
have you made tengo your default input..(that should help)
or try searching for PQIIz and chose tengo as default for either potrait/landscape or both...
P.S-my experiences are based on universal....
Yes, I've experienced this and know how you can fix this.
The problem is the way memory is utilised. I don't knwo if this is due to WM5, but it happens not just to Dopod U1000/HTC Athena but to all PDA if certain software are installed.
I'll try to recall the steps I took. Please let me know if this works:
1) Temporarily switch off anything that uses memory: today plugins, WIFI, bluetooth.
2) Remove SD cards temporily. This is because of some bugs that is associated with SD card causing memory drain.
3) Select standard SIP as the default if it is not already so
4) Soft reset
5)Open an application that need keyboard. This can be notepad, word, excel etc
6) You should be able to select Tengo now
7) If you are using the free version: see www.free.tengo.net You must first register before the keyboard would work. If you have used the commercial version with added functionality ( www.tengo.net ) this may or may not be necessary - I'm not sure.
8) Once registered, you should be able to use Tengo from now on. Now you can put back all your WIFI, Bluetooth, desktop plugins and SD cards
This solution was provided by Edwin Ng, the founder of the Singapore company that made the SIP.
This is a very very clever, flexible, and fast input method. I've now used it as my default SIP and 10000% happy with it. There is virtually no learning curve.

I'm coming around to seeing it your way.
Been playing with this and this SIP is really starting to grow on me. I too have it as my default SIP right now as I'm hoping to start carrying the Ameo without keyboard as soon as a decent case, preferably silicon based, becomes available.
Guys..search for Happy Typing Keyboard in this forum

Tried searching that, comes up with 21 hits and net connection is too slow to check them all out atm, so as you were specific with the words I bunged them in quotes to search the exact string... only this thread comes up....
Tried "Happy Typing Keyboard iphone" (w/o quotes) and nowt.
Please can you be more precise and provide a link?

You can even handle complex stuffs like web site address and password once the non-existing word has been used once. I like the audio warning if there is a non-existing word being typed, as it indicates typing error in most cases. The result is highly accurate and quick typing.
Very glad that you finally see its merits.
Certainly do. Thanks again.
