Symbian Emulator? Play SIS files on your Pocket PC? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

How hard would it be to develop a Symbian OS emulator for the Pocket PC platform? It's neat that we can play many J2ME (JAR/JAD) titles originally designed for other mobile phones, and don't forget the countless other emulators for Nintendo NES, GameBoy, coin-op (i.e. PocketCultMAME), Commodore, Amiga, Amstrad, TurboGrafx-16, heck even Sony PSX, and the list goes on.
Is there a way to use SIS files? Are they just JAR files in a different format? I'm new to the idea of Symbian (never owned a Symbian device), so I'm curious if it could be done.

Hi there, it is almost impossible to sreate such emulator. SIS files are symbian instalation files and they have nothing in common with jar files.

.SIS is Symbian Installatiom Suite, Symbian Executables are .APP
There are countless single and multi player (over BT) N-Gage games, which will start a new era in PPC gaming

I think the sdk comes with an emulator, but I'm quite sure it's not open source... it also contains tools to decompile or modify sis (I think) but you're still stuck without an emulator - although even the "emulator" may be bad news:

Probably not. The S60 game will likely use the keypad, something you don't have on the Jam.
i know the keypad problem...but i think that some games can be played...anyone know how to run with a virtual java machine emulator?
What about the preinstalled midlet manager?
i have tried but works only some java apps, game -----nothing :x
I cannot find any java file that works on my JAM
Every Java file I install, I get a "Failed to run midlet"
Can you link me to an example that works?
Thanks
I had a test of quite a few games some time ago.
The discussion can be found here
Basically from what I found, some games work, other don't. That's about the best help I can offer

Palm Emulator

Does Anybody Know of a Palm emulator that supports conduits.
There is a program called pocket George (Window cleaning Software) that is only written for palm.
There are lots of emulators that will run it, however I need conduits working as it needs to sync with Information that is on PC version.
Anybody have any ideas?

Hi,
I downloaded Bochs for Windows Mobile from here: http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/s/0115.asp
I unpacked the archive (attached image), butwhats now?!
I want do emulate windows 95 on my Xda trion.
after reading http://www.hpcfactor.com/reviews/editorial/bochs-2-1-1/ it dose not seem that attractive. I must say though the hope of pc emulation was high for me when I bought my first device years ago.

Developing to Samsung

Hi there,
I have bought a Samsung D980, and I'm trying to develop a small java game to it.
The problem is that I getting problems everytime , I transfer my game from the PC to cellphone.
I even try the game in Nokia, and it works just fine.
Does anyone have develop a java game that runs on D980?
thanks
Jbed?
Have you downloaded the HTC Java file to your phone? I think its called Jbed.
Most phones dont have java on them, so to make a game for it you need this file in your windows folder.
Hope this helps!
The Samsung D980 don't use Windows Mobile, but a Samgsung OS.
You can check it here http://pt.samsungmobile.com/telemoveis/samsung-d980-specification
Java is designed for compiling once and running everywhere.
But in fact it needs compiling many times and debugging everywhere.
Because different manufactures have their own packages and even slightly different behavior for standard APIs.
It is normal that your java program works on Nokia but not other devices.
You need programming documents for your phone. Or ask Samsung.
