When someone rings me the standard incoming call alert comes up and Photo Contacts Pro runs in the background; how do I go about fixing this?
this might be a stupid question but are you using the latest version? I seem to a recall a new version was released which supported WM5.
I think trapper is using the latest version. I also tested the version, but like trapper said, the default call alert appear, not Photo Contact Pro.
How can I tell?
Open Phone Contacts Pro and goto About, and in the about section there is usually info about the version you are using ie, version 4.2 (made that up as an example).
Then just goto the website and check if thats the latest version if it is then yes it would be the WM5 version, if not then downloading that version might fix it.
Personally im probably inclined to agree with the other poster, that you are running the WM5 compatible version, therefore I would signup and post/investigate the forums on their website because chances are there is a solution or workaround for the problem.
So I'd have to repurchase the software?
that depends on what version you bought, if it's later than 4 then the update is free, you just redownload from where you bought it from.
Version 4.01

Your purchase confirmation email contains details on how to re-download the software when a free upgrade is available.
I've had to buy 4.01
ah that sucks mate, But is the problem fixed? I mean if the problem is at least fixed then its some reprise.
i have Photo contacts pro 4.2 on my universal, and yes the problem is fixed and the windows call alert is not to be seen anymore, the new version is just fine. and i love using this amazing software. i had also a problem with the previous verison that i was using on my ALPINE but after the upgrade the new version is fully compatible with WM 5.0

I was a bit angry today to find out that T-Mobile UK won't be releasing the Exchange Messaging Feature Pack and Bluetooth 2 update until June!!!
I know I can flash my Wizard with another ROM, but I want to know exactly which one to use that is the most newest and stable available. I don't like the T-Mobile customisation very much so I'd like to get rid of it. Also, how would I restore the MMS settings for example? I can easily input the operator setttings if necessary or will I need to use an actual program.
T-Mobile have also withdrawn the last update from their website citing that it had faults. I'm using the original ROM.
Thanks for your time.
i also got the Vario with the 2.08 Rom, works very stable on my device
Is that a T-Mobile ROM? I want to use one of the Qtek ones I think so I get push email. Can anyone advise? My device is unlocked using the tool and CID unlocked but I'm not sure what that is!
Hi guys,

Not sure what you mean. Near their download button is a picture of a TyTn. Have you seen something that states what you say?
Mike

I got same bad experience with you, dont know what is the problem. I tried to install it through PC instead of CAB. Trying..But it is still not working. It close automatically when i tried to make a call. I decided to go back to beta. Luckly i didn't delete the beta version.
Specifically, the website says that if you install this version on a TyTN, you will lose calling and only have text chat available. Thanks, Samsung.
Just checked a few other sites and some folks have installed and running it OK (using TyTn) and others not on other branded versions.
Mike
is it matter with wm5.0 or wm 6.0?

Guys, i tried to install 2.2 beta version. It works fine. I uploaded the beta version in the attachment for anyone want to use it. Sorry upload failed.
you can find the beta version here http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/download_beta.html
i just uninstalled the new version and installed the beta, but i still have that issue? maybe skype wasnt uninstalled completly, how can i make sure that it was completly uninstalled before i install the beta version?
A Hard Reset would make sure the newer version wasn't on your device.

Too bad that doesn't tell us why the TyTN isn't supported any more, when it previously explicitly was. (There was a download for either the Cingular 8525, or the TyTN, I don't remember.)
I'm running the previous stable version (2.1.0.66), and the last time I used it (at least a month ago), it worked fine for calls. Seeing as I have a SkypeOut account, the ability to use it for voice chat is somewhat important to me - I bought the 8525 primarily for this purpose. Guess I'll be keeping the CAB around for a while yet.

can you send me that .cab by email plz? or upload it on here? using skype mobile was one thing i looked forward to use on my 8525
Skupe 2.2.0.18 Beta
We are having the same problem with the trinity...
But with this "old" 2.2.0.18 Beta everything seems to work fine...
http://rapidshare.com/files/37248486/SkypeForPocketPC_Beta.CAB.html
Probably the same is happening with tytn....
Problems with new Skype
Yeh, I've got the same problem with new Skype i.e. as soon as I try to make a voice call the program shuts down.
Same issues with my softbank, the program closes itself when I try to make a call.
I noticed that the new version supports the dopod version of the Tytn, anyone tried that?

this beta version worked for me after having the same issue with newer version...
Yes, I tried the 2.2.0.20 & 2.2.0.36
Both have same problem with my X01HT... i think i should go back to 2.1 vesion.
I did a quick search and couldn't find anything specifically on this topic.
I just tried this install and it went smoothly with no problems. I am able to see all of my contacts, I can call my contacts and they can call me, however, I can't seem to get any audio - they can't hear me and I can't hear them.
Is this similar to the problems with the previous versions? This version specifically says it is compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1 (I have DCD's latest ROM)...
skypes been broken in wm6.1 for a while, it seems that this one didnt fix it. has someone with a 6.1 stock rom tried the new skype? skype doesnt care about dcd roms. they only make sure that their software works with official roms. it might be an issue with them not supporting the titan, at least if it doesnt work in the stock rom than thats what it is

with previous versions of skype on wm6.1 would freeze; I think I noticed the problem after I upgraded my radio to enable gps. On the htc touch (cdma) with the new version (2.2.0.45), I'm having the same problem. Skype opens and loads just fine, but no audio. I've posted about this problem on the skype forum of the skype website, but no reply yet.
yup, seems to be the same problem with fring too except I can actually hear stuff with the fring.
With skype, I get sound on the speakerphone with the new version, but I only get the first ring and the hangup sound, thats it.
Good thing for skype to go! I have a unlimited calls to 5 favorite numbers so I can use that meanwhile.
The best thing possible tho would be to have AGEphone mobile with the fix for the Titan\Mogul (they have a fix for the HTC trinity, Hermes, Touch (Dual) and Kaiser)
Did Anyone Get the New Rom Yet?
your source please...do you have a link? thanks.

oh i forgot to add the HTC website my bad! i hope they FIX the Music Player!
Well I hopped onto the HTC website for some info and was disappointed when it refused my S/N.
I have a UK Orange HTC Touch HD, popped my S/N into the box on the UK HTC website and it rejected it.
It doesnt look like a huge update so I am not so bothered but a bit miffed that its not working.

my UK purchased 'unlocked' HD serial number is being rejected as well, so I cheated http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501583
since when did the UK leave the EU ???
differences i've noticed in using the new rom for about an hour
1) GPS lock is quicker (and i was previously using the latest radio on a stock UK rom) haven't been on a trip yet to test the lag though
2) Phone feels a little bit quicker to respond (but this could just be me)
3) Activesync doesn't seem to start all the time
4) occasionally the first time you go to turn wifi on it doesn't actually turn on and you have to turn it off then back on again (but it does start correctly every time after that)
5) addition of Iplayer as a program and on the internet tab
I'm impressed so far, am very glad that i read these forums first and went back to the stock SPL before flashing though

Do you mean their's an actual iplayer program or is it just a shortcut that opens opera to the iplayer website?
This iPlayer application sounds interesting, hopefully it can be extracted soon.
what I've noticed:
- calendar bug has been fixed, now it starts in monthly view if set earlier.
- active sync doesn't run all times - saves memory -
regards,
v.
seems Faster
google maps yaya!!!
yaya you can scroll thru all songs in the music player <<----- after i did a resset it stop Boo to HTC

HTC says: "This is a generic software update. Any additional software or settings provided by your mobile operator or company will be lost. If you require this customization, please contact your supplier first before upgrading."
It's part of the HTC OEM deal that locked operators have to repack the upgrades with their config and branding, and release it via their own website. I assume HTC is simply ignoring any serials that were sold with branded ROMs to avoid people accidentally killing their phones' operator-specific software.
delete windows mobile 6.5
If i download this rom update.
Will it then delete my windows mobile 6.5 version.
I hope it will be deleted,

HELP
does it have the new manila (like Diamond2 or touch pro2)????
Link from HTC site seems to be removed...it's still there though, follow the link mentioned in page 1 of this post
Thanks for the information!!!
I tried to cheat and use a different S/N too, but after 1% downloaded, it said that the update was not for your PDA. What is going on? Anyone knows how to go around it? I tried the HTC Europe S/N.
Thanks
Has anyone tried this rom I know its only been out a week or so but was just asking to find out if anyone had any problems with it before I put it on my phone.
Don't want to hijack your thread, but: will O2 ROM work on non O2 HD's?
God knows mate Just go on the HTC site if you want a update and have a look.

RReckless
I have been trying to update ROM since I've had the HD2. Im with O2 and when on the HTC website where it asks me to input serial number, it says device not compatible for this update. Any idea how I can get round this? It seems I won't be able to upgrade my ROM at all.
Cheers
works fine. no issues, and worked correctly after putting in serial number
What radio version is in the new O2 ROM?
already a few pages thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=671197
Ok just installed it and well can't see what's new. A bit faster and that's it no fixes no nothing. What a let down.
can anybody with this ROM on their HD2 go to
People / all people/ Updates and events / Menu
Please let me know if you have any option there to sync FB with more than once contact at a time. My old (non 02) rom let me sync all my contacts in one tick box frenzy. Now it seems they want me to do each one seperately.
