Skschema Script Code help, force scan email ??? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

My email name is : Vodafone Email
#r(\windows\tmail.exe) #p(-Service "Vodafone Email" -Sync)
This does not work for me. How #r(\windows\tmail.exe) does open the email, but I cant get it to scan a particular account.
If you have skschema and have your email scanning working please share your script code, thx ?

I find it easier to do it this way -
Using a File Explorer (Resco the best) go in to the windows directory and find tmail.exe (this is the Outlook program) and create a shortcut for it - put it wherever you want, it's up to you, but rename it to something like Email Sync.
Get the properties up for this shortcut and click the shortcut tag and fill in as below
"\windows\tmail.exe" -Service "Email Account" -sync
Obviously change the words "Email Account" to the name of your account in Outlook.
Now go back to SkSchema and within the program run the shortcut instead of doing all what you were doing.

You methods worked the only thing thats the trick is that, if your email account has these two possible name formats
Joe Email
MyEmail
Then this is the correct format
-service "Joe_Email" -sync
-service "MyEmail" -sync
Damn those spaces !!!! Dont forget the "_"

I didnt come up against that problem, my service doesnt have any spaces name, but its worth having that in the back of my mind.

This doesn't work for a WindowsLive account. How would I delete a Windows Live email account from my PPC?
THanks,
-Humbert
Yup it doesn't. You need to not use Windows live messenger.
Whenever you sign-in to WLM, it creates the mailbox automatically. So if you're not sync'ing your mails, there's no way to remove it.

Go to
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\Windows Live
in the registry and change the value of
"UserCannotCreate"
from "1" to "0".
The delete option should no longer be grayed out.

I have a similar problem as the first poster. I created the same gmail account more then once, but since I had to load from a backup after my tytn froze it is only showing the one account. My programs such as pocketbreeze is showing both gmail accounts, but messaging is only showing 1, so the question is how do I delete one of the duplicate accounts if only one is showing in messaging, or do I have to hard reset my phone?
I have the same problem. MSN Messenger is pre-instaled and when I first logged in, the device automaticly created a new folder called Hotmail.
How do I go to: "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\Windows Live"?

There are a lot of registry editors for PocketPC out there, if you don't have one try one of these:
PHM Registry Editor (free)
Total Commander (free)
Resco Registry
I tried to do this to delete the outlook account, but it did not work. i ended up deleting the active sync folder from the registry - which worked - but then my phone stopped vibrating when getting text and email messages.
i loaded the new ROM and the active sync folder is back (and hotmail too), but i still don't vibrate on incoming messages. any thoughts?

new contact shortcut, like new sms?

Hello
I have found the way to create a shortcut to creating a new sms:
1°): On PC: create a notepad document with this content:
00#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "" -body "
2°) On PC: save with .txt
3°) copy from PC to PPC (phone)
4°) on PPC: change extesion from .txt to .lnk
5°) use any launcher to link to this small file it will create a new sms
Now here is what I would like to do in the same way: create a link to a new contact in one click. What I have found so far is this:
20#"\Windows\poutlook.exe" contacts -new
but the problem is that is does not directly create a new contact, but first asks whether it should be in Outlook or on the SIM card. So how can I modifiy the above in order to have it directly in Outlook.
I have tried every possible logic I could think of (adding service "Outlook" for instance) with no luck so far.
Thanks for your help.
Olivier
I checked my HTC Action Screen settings
as it works exactly the way you want and your code looks correct.
In the standard Messaging App, do you have the tick box checked for showing the Account Picker? (Messaging...Tools...options)
sorry, I guess I was not clear: it does not do what I want. I need a direct access to new contact within Outlook, not a link to creating a contact, and then having to select outlook or SIM. This is the last part i could not figure out so far. I'm sure there is a way similar to SMS (which is sub choice of tmail which includes sms, mms, email...)
Thanks

IMAP to gmail configuration?

Hi,
I'd like to configure Windows Mobile to make that the delete mail action in my gmail account archives the mail instead of deleting it.
I've read some post over the web talking about this issue, and giving some solutions, but none of them for Windows Mobile.
In essence, the solution implies to change the "label" that is associated with the delete action, so it must change from "[gmail]/trash" to "[gmail]/All mail" (this is my own interpretation of what I've read, very simplified ), but I don't know how to do this. I've searched the registry and the file system looking for some configuration entries, but I've been unable to find any
Any ideas? Is this possible to do?
(my ppc is a HTC TouchHD, by the way)
thanks
1 of the differences between imap and pop3 is that
imap dont delete the mails
you should try to change to pop3 in your pda
Use the IMAP connection and just move the messages to a folder on your PPC, this will change the tags in your gmail account. Thus moving the email from your Inbox to the folder of your choice.
Hi again,
Thanks Rudegar and Deedee for your replys. (sorry for my delayed answar, but I've been out of home some days)
Rudegar, I've been testing the pop3 access, but I have a problem. I use POP (with MS Outlook) in my main computer, so I always have my mails there and organized as I want (folders, subfolders, filters to delete, move, etc...) This is my main "mail box" and I like it this way 8·). The problem now is that if I download one mail from one pop3 "reader" (be it the PC or the PPC) the other one "loses" the mail. I suppose that gmail marks the mail as downloaded by pop so it is not "served" anymore. This makes the pop option "not an option" 8·(
Deedee, I've been playing a little more with the IMAP folders, and, as you say, I can move the messages to folders. The problem here is that this is not so easy as simply deleting it, and letting gmail to keep it archived. What I want is to be able to delete the messages but to be sure that there are kept safe by google, just in case ;·)...
What I want to do is exactly what is described in this page (http://vjarmy.com/archives/2007/10/tutorial_easy_archiving_for_gmai.php), but I don't know if there is some way to do the same in Windows Mobile
Thansk again for your help 8·)
it's done! well... in fact it has been always done! 8·)
As a nice "side efect" of using a spanish version of Windows Mobile, mails are never marked as "Trash", but as "Elementos eliminados", what, of course, gmail does not understands and treats it as a normal label. So emails are never sent to the trash folder, wich is what I wanted! 8·)
So problem solved! Thanks again for your pattience 8·D

Email sender's name

Maybe I'm missing it, but how does one specify one's name (used in the from / senders field) when setting up exchange email?
I've gone through all the email settings and reviewed the setup guide (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/howtoguide/N0000003/16380/223708) but there's no mention of this.
When recipients receive email from me, my name is displayed as my email address but without everything to the right of the @ sign.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Free mobile app

The only way (as of now and to my knowledge) to change the "sender name" in the stock android mail app while still using the exchange setup (Hotmail service, or any other mail service that dont sync your correct sender name with the mail server) is as follows (requires root):
- Set up your account and assure yourself that all basic features function properly (sending-, receiving mails, etc.)
- get a SQLite editor app (of your choice, Google Play is your 'friend')
- launch the SQLite editor and find the stock android mail app (com.android.email) and explore its databases (*.db)
- navigate and open "EmailProvider.db"
- open the "Account" table and change the "senderName" string to your desired "sender name" and save
- at this point you are done, and its advised to reboot your phone or completely restart the mail app
Voilà!
