Hi,
until recently, I had a nice coloured battery indicator at the very top of the screen, over the whole width.
I uninstalled iLauncher because it used to much space for me, and installed TrayLnch instead. Now that battery indicator is gone, so I guess it came with iLauncher.
Is such an indicator available separately?

Batti is wat you're looking for:
http://pda.jasnapaka.com/batti/
You can customize the colors that are used in the topbar indicator!
there are 5 stages for which you can choose your own colors:
- normal
- low
- critical
- charging
- A/C
And you can also select a margin on the left, the height of the indicator, and at wich levels you want to switch to "low" and "critical".
Looks great, thanks
There is another thread for this, but do either of you know how to get RID of the existing battery icon in the tray itself? I as well use a different battery displayer (spb myself) but I hate the one in tray.
Also, 1-2tje, what are you using at the bottom of your screen to show you current loaded applications? I have the first icon on the right side, but none of my other running apps show up.

So far nobody has an solution for the batteryicon in the topbar!
The icons at the bottom of my screendump above are not running programs! It are shortcuts created using PHM TrayLaunch (use search) . however some programs place a icon in the bottombar while they are running e.g. tomtom, while other programs don't place an icon there. Therefor i think this is program specific.

I had PocketPlus 3 installed, but I decided to remove it because of a backlight issue and the fact it had some wierd square edges at the top of the screen, but I love the concept of a few programs on the today screen.
I currently have pocketbreeze and pocket weather installed on it.
What can I do to get a few APPS on the today screen with some nice icons. I know you guys out there are doin it, whats your fav?
thanks

The weird lines at the top of the screen really bugged me too - till I realised that (a) it was a battery meter and (b) I could turn it off in the settings dialog. I have no issue with the backlight - seems a perfectly functional app to me!
It would be nice to be able to create desktop links to individual contacts though (I could do this with my previous Symbian phone) ... does anyone know if this is possible?
iLauncher can put shortcuts on the today screen....
just found out that contact breeze can do the contacts...
thats what that is? battery meter?
how did you disable it?
can you show me a scrn shot of your setup with pocketplus?
I use CLaunch for nice shortcut icons on the today screen, and its free

Isn't that a complete replacement for the Today screen?

Start, Settings, System [Tab], SPB Pocket Plus, Deselect "Taskbar Battery Indicator".

Here is SPB Pocket Plus and SPB Diary setup without battery icon:
Wish I had a photo, but I remember seeing some Today screens that inidicated the number of voicemails, e-mails and SMS messages on the very top of the screen where signal strength, the clock, volume, etc indicators are. Can someone tell me what app(s) do this?
Well, there's Phone Alarm. But that is on your Today screen, not up on the top bar. But you can put it up next to it, like this...
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I feel as if I've seen it in the area above where you've placed PhoneAlarm. Does Wisbar do what I'm looking for?
It's not this one is it?
V
^^^ It is! ^^^
What is it?
dunno but the website tat pic came from was:
http://www.vijay555.com
The screenshot shows a couple of plugins I wrote, and some other tricks.
Ok, basically, I used my app called VJToggleToday to minimise the StartBar and Bottom bar down to maximise screen space.
Then, I used a custom PhoneAlarm skin I wrote. Using VJToggleToday, that can now "replace" the standard OS Start Bar.
It's all explained here, and the skins etc are available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27331&highlight=vjtoggletoday
VJToggleToday is being re-written for WM5 - go to the end of that thread for the current alpha release.
I haven't converted the PA skin to the WM5 version yet. I'm in the process of doing it now.
V
Thanks! I look into this; however, the links to your alpha release of VJToggleToday don't seem to work.
Try this one:
http://www.vijay555.com/vj/releases/vjtoggletodayii/vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe
V
Thanks! Hopefully your full release will offer the option to keep the lower menu bar.
makisupa: use the configuration screen (or edit the registry directly), and just set the softkeys to 26 pixels as default. Then the softkeys will stay, but you can hide the start bar (top bar) as you wish.
In the current alpha release, both bars can be sized to whatever size <=26 pixels you want.
Access the config by launching it with the command line -config

Where is this located in the Registry?
HKLM > Software > Vijay555 > VJTodayToggle
But as I said, you don't need to use the registry, you can use -config

Hey guys,
Would anyone mind telling me what vp3G_PTT_Reassign.zip is and how to use it? I've looked for info on it but came up short... I even installed it and though ohh what the heck; my comm manager button (top left) doesn't work anymore...
Also, I'd like to know how you get the shiny numbers on the clock? The ones that are real bright...?
Last, how do we get the battery status bar (HTC Home plugin) to be on top of the today screen and not on the bottom? It's annoying to have to scroll down all the time. ;P
This is the picture of what it is supposed to look like. (Unfortunately, my batt status bar is on the bottom.)

Thanx,
Phil
I believe the yellow section is the freeware "BatteryStatus" plugin, the green section is the HTC Home plugin (Free for WM6 users, but can easily be found somewhere in this bulletin board, and easily modified with this), and the blue includes the WM default lock/unlock today plugin and the "system tray" for WM. The only question is whether this is actually running WM6 or if it's being skinned by Wisbar Advance, which is pay-for software ($10 USD).
Anything else?
about the battery status bar...
Nice move Myr,
I hadn't thought about that! Putting them in different color squares makes it a whole lot easier to explain!
You see, the yellow square is a the bottom, that is until yesterday! I opened my phone today, and now it's somewhere in the middle. but I still would like to have it on top like it is displayed on the image (mind you, the image I put on this post is the picture of what it's supposed to look like, not the way it shows on my phone...).
Now that you've boxed everything, in the green square your clock is bright, your icons right under are colorful and you have different color icons below that... I've wracked my brain to figure it out with no luck! I must be crazy 'cause it looks like the answer is right in front of me... I guess I'm "blind"! I'll read the link in just a sec... I'll let you know.
Phil
No luck there...
I guess some things are to be left untouched!
I tried the plugin. Unfortunately, the "file are not found" so it cannot continue its application. What next?
Phil
About your plugin...
Like I said before, it doesn't work...
But now it says something else; "Cannot detect Home plugin, defaulting to v1.5 settings"...
Any idea what thaqt means???
Phil
Like the title says - is there any way or some small utility to apply background image for top and/or bottom bars? (I know You can't make them simply transparent).
I have tried Wisbar, rlToday etc, they are all either doing too much on the side, consuming way too much memory or just buggy. I've also searched this forum but as the bars have too many names (top bar, taskbar, menu bar, start bar etc.) I've come up with nothing really...
What I would like to achieve is something like this (image from ultimatelaunch.de):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Please help.
i asked that before
it is another tool by the ultimate launch author called skinmobile:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1916467&postcount=28
OK, thanks!!!
I'll look into it later (or tomorrow) as I don't have my device with me atm. But it sure seems what I am looking for considering what I have seen and that it's small
you can also use vijay555's todayToggle to remove either or both of them, and just show the background image.
who really needs the bottom bar anyway, if someone can't remember what the two (big number) launches are, what are they doing playing around with ppcs?
it's a tiny exe (9.5kb) that you can leave in your windows\startup folder.
Then edit the registry to choose the size, the exe basically shrinks the bars to 2pixels but you can choose any size you want
Okay, thanks for the tip!!!
By the way - I've seen screenshots of taskbars with icons representing running applications just like in normal desktop PC. Besides MagicButton and WKTask and maybe Wisbar (not sure), are there any other apps (small) or registry hacks that do this? It seems that all these applications address a multiple changes in the system, I am trying to locate utilities that do just that one little thing - show running application icons on taskbar (next to start button).
i use wktask and set it to do absolutely nothing except show the running tasks.
it does'nt seem to me that it slows down or causes any problems
OK, thanks for the tip! Gone try it that way.
By the way Skinmobile is buggy on my WM6, so that app kind of sucks...
yes its a bit buggy but you can edit the ini file and graphics and try a bit around. i had it running without any problems on wm6.1
Naah, I'll just leave it to that and wait for better apps. The "see-thru" effect isn't worth it, if its buggy. For me at least. The buggyness seems to appear when I click on any of the taskbar icons. Although I didn't do a soft reset after running the prog. Should have I done it? Would it change anything?
Hi, I trying create the black status bar icons set for use with white themes and I foun hard to change signal state icons...
my question is : anybody knows how to add for example 7 line of indicator of signal state like this....
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but my primary question is how to skin this signal state icons f.e. black red and so on...
I stuck here:
changed colour of signal state but it seems like the signal state icons appears like "transparenting" status bar, because it also changes default white background on programs dialogs...
Any suggestions ?????
other pics...
for illustration of my problem...
If I am not mistaken, the signal icons are all contained in the shellres.96.dll.mui file. I remember seeing them while I was looking for the battery icons (I wanted to do the same as you but with the battery).
Hope this helps.
some months ago i changed some system colors with sktools, also the background color of wm. I also found out that wm uses this backgroundcolor for both, signal and background, so i see no way to manage this Problem without changing both so welcome to the the world of unlogical confusing programming:windows mobile. Try it with a light or middle grey for both.

the registry key is:
HKLM\System\State\Phone\Signal Strength
but then you have to create your own taskbar with something like homescreen plusplus
or you try wisbar
i am currently working on the same. i create my own taskbar with homescreenplusplus
just in case you need more keys:
HKLM\System\State\Phone\Cellular System Available
HKLM\System\State\Phone\Cellular System Connected
all right
