Where is Prophet Extended ROM? - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General
Hello guys,
I have installed Total Commander on my Prophet to read the hidden extended ROM. However, I still can't find it. Where is actually the hidden ROM?
thanks
Using Registry Hack to unlock hidden ROM:
HIDDEN: (Original Setting)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Bootphase"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:00000001
SHOWN:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Bootphase"=dword:00000002
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:00000000
Have 9.94MB at Extend ROM

Sorry, you're wrong. You might want to try again...I have a Prophet and Total Commander works perfectly, including accessing the extended ROM.

I know it works in accessing the ER, but after the deletions and a hard-reset, it does not save the new settings that were made to the ER.

My built-in program occupy 9.5MB but like you I can copy and/or delete all contents. Can also store data there but anything stored there is replaced by build in programs after soft reset.
I have discovered there seem to be 2 Extended Rom, one called "Extended_ROM", the other "Extended_ROM2". The first is accessible via Total Commander with no changes to registry. The second requires changes to registry. You can delete the build in files in each independently but they are back after soft reset. "Extended_ROM2" appears under "Settings | Memory" but "Extended_ROM" doesn't. Probably because of no registry changes. There must be yet another ROM partition where all the built in files are copy from during a soft reset. That's the ROM we need to get to.
So tell us...
how is this possible?
Anyone know?
I would like to change a t9 dll file in ext rom, so can anyone tell us how to do this ie. get at ext rom, not just the ext rom 2.
Please post solution :lol:

Registry Settings
Hello all,
I own a Jamin running the latest DOPOD image. I have tried to set my registry as per sas90850's suggestions.
Well, just after the soft reset the registry settings are reverting back to their original values ! :-|
Any clues on this ?
Thanks

Disable the Cube in Touch Cruise
1. Unzip the Disable Cube.zip and copy the folder Disable Cube in storage card. 2. With resco explorer copy the four exe files from the folder Empty Files in windows folder. 3. With a registry editor in HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings change EnableCube from 1 in 0 and make a soft reset. The cube will not function anymore and you will have an extra 6,5 mb memory program memory available. Attention: After you replace the original files, programs like SKTools and MemMaid may show the files "useless" and prompt you to delete them. DO NOT delete those files. If you do delete them by mistake then just restore the files as described in step 2. In the Real files folder you can find the original files in order to come back whenever you want. Just copy in windows folder and change again the value in registry.
cannot overwrite, it said all files is read-only.......
Τry with resco explorer.
Finally I got rid of this useless cube, and I have more 7MB to RAM. Nice finding man, Thanks!

Yes my friend.
Wow worked like a charm, THAnk U Very Very much 6.8 MB free and get rid og the Cube
Weird. On my Touch, with a custom ROM I built that hasn't biotouch.exe and other cube resources, that means I would have 7MB more free RAM compared to a ROM on which it's present and active. Yet it's (definitely!) not the case. Believe me I wish it would be the case

Tanx, works like a charm!!
Nice and it works, but a big Problem (HTC touch cruise, WM 6.0): When i make a sidescroll in emails or sms i get an error message, something like "couldn`t open biotouch.exe". Any solution ?
With a registry editor in HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings change EnableCube from 1 in 0 and make a soft reset. Did you have made this?

i know you guys said this will give you more access to ram, but does removing the cube speed up the device at all (noticeably?) i wish HTC would have just had an option to disable it in the system settings. oh well. Maybe someone will make a software that can do this automatically for us?
To complete and correct this error try this: With a registry editor in HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings change EnableScroll from 1 in 0 and make a soft reset
There is a similar metod to disable HTC Home?
Deleting manila files in Windows?
Is this possible? Are there any program that disables the file protection or do i need to do it manually? Can't get it to work and don't know where to find it. Anyone got a solution?
you can use total commander for that. and also, you can search.

No you can not! Only when it's not part of a ROM. When deleting ROM files they actually are restored. Not deleted!
why you want to do this you know what these files are for?
NLS said: why you want to do this you know what these files are for? Click to expand... Click to collapse I got my reasons No i've overwritten them to get some mods in.
see... i thought that was the case. just use total commander and delete them. you´ll get your originals back after a soft reset.
