I can just second that. Tried 5 (!) others, including pRSS, but egress is by far superior to all others. It's not free (12$), but well worth the money.
There is a 30 Days trial, after that, there is no way out but to buy it, because you won't want to miss it anymore.
Cheers

I also prefer Egress.

Egress is also my prefered RSS Reader, none of the others are comparable. It also supports podcasts!

speaking of egress, anyone know of a way to disable image downloading? I have so many feeds and end up with a huge queue of images it wants to download. i dont care much for them but dont see a way to disable image downloading.

What's best for YOU is not necessarily what anyone else even WANTS. Can you articulate your needs, or are you just looking for a reader that works with your phone?
If it's the former, then someone might have a recommendation for you. If it's the latter, go use Google.
These are some of the add on cabs posted in the WM6 board. There is the adobe reader cab in the first post
Good luck

I like foxit reader out of all the readers. Has zoom and touch capabilities like opera mini. You might want to look into that.

Why go thru the trouble of telling people to search first, when some bone head will turn right around and post what they're asking for. Let's all be on the same page, and play as a team!!!

I agree with you on the Foxit reader. I disabled the executable command for ClearVue which is worthless and have the Foxit reader as default.

IE 6?

Has anybody tried this on there Titan yet?
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/6on6
I've used IE6 from no2chem's NueROM-M 201 and it rocks! You can find download here for that ROM. I've heard not-so-good things about using IE6 before I actually used it, and I have to say it probably is one of those that you either love or hate. I happen to love it. New download manager, better zoom support, JS, CSS, Flash, switch between Desktop and Mobile code view. I have to say - as a web developer and WinMo user for the better part of two years - do everything you can to get this application. It is awesome!
Jacob,
Glad to hear that you liked the new IE6, I can't wait to try it.
I am sure someone will be looking for it, so sere's a direct link to the standalone IE6 .cab: HERE.
Thanks in advance,
Matt!
Does the cab, IE6, replace IE Mobile? How is performance on the titan, with its limited memory, is IE6 actually usable or is it like Opera 9 (Out of memory errors)?
I'm on the NueROM as well and I found it to be very slow - especially when used to browse forums.

thanks, can you tell us where is cab from?
Unable to find app
I installed the cab, it asked to restart my phone, I did so and now I am unable to find any changes. I've repeated this process twice. The first time I installed to main memory with no joy. The second I installed to the memory card and was unable to locate any changes at all in any folders. I tried launching pIE to see if it was just a overall replacment also to no avail. I could use some help if I've don'e something incorrect.
Yeah I see no changes. Is this really the right cab? Hopfully if I uninstall it, it won't delete my mobile IE
Since I backed up everything, Im very daring.
I've tested this uninstall for you and it doesn't remove pIE
Im going to take apart the cab and see whats in it.
**edit**
I don't know what Im looking for to be honest. It went quicker to view it than I thought.
Thanks I appreciate it. I would like to know where the thread of that attachment came from.
Hmm. The more I use the IE Mobile and read about it, the more it seems to be missing. I have the browser set to mobile view, yet it stays in full desktop style. Had this problem in NueROM and now in GaMedic's ROM. Was under the impression it doesn't work - now I wonder if it just isn't working on my Mogul for some reason.
EDIT - Oops. I need to clarify - the mobile/desktop toggle works in that it disguises my mobile when I goto sites that auto-detect. I really miss the One-Column style browsing. Any way to bring that back?
Its really slow and the web pages dont fit the screen so I quickly removed it

News Feeder with links downloaded?

Does Anyone know of a program that will not only download the RSS feed, but will also down the link to the full article? A lot of feeds only give you the link to the articule, so I am looking for an application that is able to download the link also (like have an option to download one level down, etc). I like spb insight and pRSSreader, but neither will allow me to download the full article.
Thanks
pRSSreader will, no ?

[Info]E-reader

Just thought i would share my search for a good e-reader for my HD2.
I have not installed doc tabs or ereader from HTC so looking for 3rd party options.
Freda looks ok - but nothing special that stands out. just a good solid app.
Lexcycle - dont do one for WM.
Mobipocket seems interesting and snazzy with desktop integration and is the one i chose -it does sync, and guttenberg also has mobipocket files, and it can import pdf and html and text etc. it seems well featured with most features you would expect and want.
HOWEVER, just be warned that the cab from their website did not work on first install. I had to uninstall it, and then install to my device via the mobipocket desktop software before touch navigation and menus would work.
It seems adequately features and not as nice as stanza, but OK. If you have touchscreen woes though, install through the desktop app.
Other suggestions are of course welcome.
I think there is one called AIreader that everyone recommends...might want to look it up.
I haven't tried it personally...I like the HTC ereader, but I need to find the cab for it alone since my new rom doesn't have it on it...
I am in love with AlReader! Just perfect!
Im attaching the (freeware) English version. Hope that's okay (it's so hard to find on the web)
I'll give it a try tomorrow and update my post
p.s. I am reluctant to give htc's ereader a whirl as apparently it is quite buggy.
I also like this one...but it would be soooo cool if we got a fingerfriendly version for our HD2...anyone up to the task.
I admit I still have a longing for the tabbed interface and large book covers that you get from the HTC e-reader

Yup that is the one is perfect for the HD2 and I love how you turn pages (I inverted top tapping to forward a page and bottom tapping to return to previous page) I found it to be very good, fast and with a lot of extra options
try it! you will not regret it!

I install the attached file it but it is in Russian ....
Hmm apologies for that... Sure it was the right file...
I don't believe I will be able to fish it out in the next 36 hours (wprking both days and v. busy tonight), but if you can wait a day or two (or someone else comes through) then please check back!!
The best Ebook reader on Windows Mobile is Allreader+. Unfortunately it isn't free but is worth the money, it can read all the important formats as far as I'm concerned and it has so many options that allow you to set it up exactly as you want.
Other options which are good are uBook and Mobireader.

Of course Freda already has finger-friendly navigation (configurable swipes and taps) to change page etc. As for finger-friendly settings screens, bookmarking and table-of-contents navigation, I am working on it ...
Other feature requests are welcome - so if there are features you'd like to see in Freda, please post here, or email me at [email protected]
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks for Freda by the way, it really is gorgeous. I think I will end up using it over AlReader when it loads a little faster and can open in fullscreen mode by default.
But love it!

Working on this now - expect better performance from the next version (particularly when opening a book for the first time, which right now is sloooow!).

Can you check the build number on your start-up flash screen. If it is less than 804, it might be worthwhile for you to download a new version (use the dropbox link on my website) - because build 804 should be capable of starting up in fullscreen mode.
Cheers,
Jim

+ 1 to that. I've been looking for a stand alone cab for it myself.
If you find one let me know, Visa versa of course .
Thanks,
Anyone knows if there is some reader for CHM format?

Hi Jim,
any chance of Freda supporting the .pdb format ?, All my old scifi books are in that format & I can't find any updates for them

To be honest, adding support for extra formats is not one of my priorities for Freda development - because it would make the program bigger, slower and buggier, and in the long run I expect EPUB to become the format of choice.
That said ...
1) As Freda is open-source, someone else might feel differently, and might develop a version to read additional formats. I'm doing some refactoring at the moment, so that adapting Freda in this way will become fairly simple.
2) Calibre is a good (PC based) package that can convert various formats into EPUB; it might be a good solution for you.
Jim
I am using mobireader from mobipocket

Big thumbs up here for Freda! Finally an e-reader which natively supports epub format. No more hassle of converting with Calibre and using Mobipoicket (although not a bad e-reader).
Some minor naggles but I can live with those...
