Mobile Outlook Language Settings - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
How can I change the behavior of Mobile Outlook to default to "Central European (Windows)" instead of "Auto Detect". German Umlauts are not shown correctly otherwise. I can change the setting manually for each new email. I would like to have it to default to something other than "Auto Detect".
Any ideas?

good question. i have the same issue and thought this is going to be fixed in the new aku2 roms. but orange uk 1.30.90 still has this issue :-(
best regards
peter

idea?
Doesn't anybody have an idea?

WM2003se mms problem?!?!?!?!

i have installed the Merged version of WM2003SE by SIn, which I must say lookes and works really great! I just have one little problem! I cant send or recienve mms, When i try to send it says "Your message is larger than the sending limit you specified in 'Preferences'. to change the limit, select 'MMS Settings' from the Inbox Tools menu." I can't change it cause i can't see that specific Settings to change the limit is no where to be found, it's like it's missing from the window! All my settings are perfect, I can surf the web everything! If anyone has an idea for my minor problem thats turning into a mounten, please let me know!
Thank you all!!
RE
I suppose you're using O2 XDA II. My problem was a bit different in that I could not view the recieved MMS and my recipient could not recieved my MMS.
I faced a similar problem recently when I tried to use MMS for my O2 XDA II with WM2003SE and ROM v2.06.00. My MMS composer was v2.0.0.13
Apparently, my telco carrier does not recognize v2.0.0.13 as the official MMS composer.
Now it works because I'm using MMS v1.6.0.8 from the original ROM v1.6.00 ie from WM2003.

VODAFONE ITALY MMS & WEB settings...

It appears this nice device (or at least all of WM5 devices) are not yet enough considered from SP as I cannot find any setup and/or settings for MMS and WEB connection settings anywhere...
www.clubimate.com only supply any kind of settings for any other SP but VODAFONE ITALY...
Their support (I-Mate) is also not present (I even tried calling them while in Dubai with no luck).
At VODAFONE Customer Service there are only chances to use the automated answering system or the website and again no one of them considers WM5 devices...
ANY HINT ???
With manual settings I entered I can do MMS -OR- WEB but I cannot get it configured to "automagically" use one of the two when needed. I always have to manually switch between them... :-(
Again: ANY HINT ???
Thanks a lot.
Hi Michele,
I am Italian too. Why do you switch them manually? In Connections/Advanced, the default connection should be not be the MMS one, but the internet one (APN: web.omnitel.it). The one used for MMS will be defined here but NOT selected as default. This needs to be indicated in MMS configuration in the Messaging application.
The problem that I have (with a Worldwide English K-Jam) is that I just can't make MMS work. I have tried all settings based on Vodafone Italy indications, but no joy.
Would you tell me your detailed settings to make it work?
Thanks.
Massimo
..
Thanks for this!
This is however not suitable for me, as I live in two countries (UK and Italy), and I do not want to hard reset just to fix my Italian MMS settings.
Would you be able to just give me your Voda IT MMS settings?
What I have done is:
1) Created a new connection with APN = mms.vodafone.it (everything else is default)
2) Created a new set of MMS settings in the MMS application, with:
Gateway = 10.128.224.10
Server = http://mms.vodafone.it/servlets/mms
Port number = 80
Connect via = the above created connection
WAP version = with this I am unsure, I tried both settings, but no joy.
With these settings, the phone tries to send or retrieve MMS's, correctly connecting to the APN and exchanging data. However I always get a vague error message in the end.
Can you let me know what you have done differently?
Thanks.
..
Many thanks for this!
I modified the config based on your comments. At a later stage I also went into the registry and manually modified some settings that looked different in your list. Still no joy!!!
I am particularly puzzled by the Profile parameter, pointing to an XML file in a website. You claim this is very important. The default one points to a different XML file.
Question: how would the messaging application use this info? I mean, it is not possible to go out to the web using the MMS APN, so how is this Profile URL used?
I also tried to soft reset after changing that, still no joy....
..
..
Thanks for your great help.
Just to clarify, I normally live in the UK, but in this period I am in Italy, this is why I am configuring MMS on my Italian SIM card from Vodafone Italy.
And I've got very good news: everything now works!
I am not really sure how, I simply reset everything back to my original config, doing a few soft resets in between, and now I can send and receive MMS's.
By the way, that IP must only be used in the Gateway field in MMS configuration. Using it as the IP in the connection panel makes it impossible for the phone to connect to the APN (which is logical).
Again thanks for your help.

Orange World (Switzerland) for Trinity

Hi all
I have a Trinity with GPS enabled. When I try to open mobile.orange.ch I only get the text navigation of Orange World and not the one with pics and colors...
I want to use the live tv function of Orange and because I'm not getting to the usual Orange World, I don't get the link for live tv (even when I type the address, I get an error message from Orange).
On an other post I read to change in the registry these values: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Internet Settings\ 5.0\ User Agent\Default -> Mozilla/4.0
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Internet Settings\ 5.0\ User Agent\Post Platform -> PPC; 240x320; SPV M3100; OpVer 12.16.5.111
These settings should suggest to Pocket IE that a "SPV M3100" is trying to open the site.
As you can imagine, Orange ignores these changes in the settings. It seems that these changes don't affect with a new ROM (GPS enabled...).
Has anybody an idea what else I can try? Finally I just want to watch TV on my nice Trinity.
Thank you for your help!

I had the same problem after flashing to a non orange rom. I have solved it by using cab file intended for WM6 to solve the same problem.
you can find it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=40441&d=1180608956
the problem I have found with this fix in WM5 is that you cannot send text messages. To resolve this find in file explorer the file sms_providers.dll rename it to old then restart the device. A new file should be created and you should now have the picture based orange world and sms.
Good Luck
Mark
Orange World (Switzerland)
Hi Mark
Thank you very much for your advice.
I tried this out but it's not working. The settings are for Orange UK and not for Orange Switzerland.
Do you or anybody else have an idea what else I could try or what I could change in the settings?
Cheers
Jarvis
Has nobody an idea what else I could do?

In Advanced Configuation->Menu-> More Settings->Connections->Check Disconnect after and then adjust to required time.
