Hello to everybody!
I have the following problems. I friend of mine got a Tmobile Universal from Germany. Unfortunately he does not speak German, so i helped him in flashing the device with an imate rom. after that it was in english.
the problems appeared in 3 months, when it began slowing down.
i made a hard rteset, it did not help. after that i flashed a new rom, synchronised with my outlook, everything went smooth. i walked two days with the device, it was ok.
after i gave it to my friend and today this frined called me and said that the device stopped working. and this happened after he tried to synchronise the device with his PC. can you guys tell me what can go wrong in this case?
thank you

Not being a pc/phone buff I wondered if any of you guys can help me?
I bought a Vodafone V1640 that had O2 software on it. Firstly is this ok? Should it have had Vodafone software on it? Second, I sold the phone on eBay beause it did not match my needs or critera and now the person that bought it is saying there is a ROM error showing and that I had originally bought a duff phone. This I cannot understand, as when I received the phone, I charged it and made sure that it was in perfect working ordered. This was over a peroid of about 2-3 hours and no error showed on the phone what so ever. It actually came sealed as if it had come straight from Vodafone as an upgrade maybe.
I cannot understand why this error messgae is now showing and upon asking an IT collegue at work he has suggested that this person had maybe tried to load new software on to the phone therefore the ROM error being apparent.
Does anyone have any idea why the phone may only now be showing this error? I can assure you all that I did nothing to the phone as it was only out of the box for a few hours before I decided that it wasn't for me.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.
what error is showing.
i have a vodafone unit, but have flashed various roms without problems.
i am currently on the latest i-mate.

Hi Steve
Thanks for replying.
I've got no idea what kind of ROM error is showing on the item as it is no longer in my possession. I am trying to contact my eBay buyer to find out exactly what message is showing and when.
What exactly is a ROM error anyway? As I stated previously, the phone was on for btween 2-3 hours and showed no signs of soft/hard ware damage. How do Rom error's occur?
Sorry to sound so vague and amateurish!!
I am no expert and have only been playing with these things for 9 months, but the only time I have ever seen ROM error is when i have been trying to flash a different ROM to my device, e.g the imate version to my vodafone machine.
Ask him what he did, what the error says and what he can see on the screen.Read the guide to installing a ROM and you can see what happens.
ROMs for specific versions such as imate will not flash to others such as vodafone unless you use a specific .exe file (the no id upgrade one).
If you try you will get an error, and sometimes you can get the machine up and running, other times you get a brick which can take time to get back to life.

I have been try to change ROM. e,g :s200,dopod aisa, jester ROM.
everytime reboot the prophet. It will stop in the HTC logo and pay about 5 mins. all ROM's the same.
who have the same problem?
and how to saft it?
thanks!
once the phone is on, does Bt work? If it doesn't this is the problem.
I had the exact same problem, just to realise that the BT chip was broken.
I had to send it back to service (under warranty): they replaced the motherboard and all is working now.
This way you will also get new IMEi and MAC address for the wifi and latest rom
I think so!
I can't open BT now.
Hi Chairman,
I've got the same problem.
Send it to repair as soon as you can. Don't wait.
I've waited to long, thinking i'll just flash my device back to German language (it's an O2 XDA Neo) and then go to Germany to give them to repair, but it just died after few weeks.
Now it doesn't turn on at all, so i can't flash it anymore to original language and send it for repair under warranty because it's contents is in French.
As Thegios said, if they changed motherboard, then it has to be an expensive replacement if not under warranty.
So, don't wait, or you may have a dead device. And if, like me, you flashed to another ROM and language, you'll be lost
In my case, the excessive boot-up time was gone after upgrading to the new and latest official Qtek Rom
Hi,
i hope you give me a soulution, i have only 2 week from the warraty period.
i had the offical firmware on my p3300 til 2 weeks ago, when i had that bad idea to upgrade to the official wm6 which can be donloaded from htc.com. during a year there were only 2 crashes/hangs so i thougt it wont be any problem, but after the upgrade the phone start to freeze. in the last 4 days it freezes about 20 times/ day and it very annoying. i tried the touch 4 rom and 2 more. i wanted to try my original but i cant find on my cd. what do you suggest what should i do?
PLEASE HELP ME! i have only 2 weeks
new info
i tried today an original rom from htc and it goes well til 1 hours ago when after a call it hangs too. i think it has got a hardware problem. so i will return to the reseller. except if you have a good idea.

I'm having the same problem. Already had to turn in my device 3 times before it was finally fixed (I didn't flash anything so not my fault). Last week I flashed another rom, flashed back to my original and now I'm having the problem again
anyone knows how to solve?
do you remove memory card and sim before flash new ROM?
someone said it is ok to leave memory card and sim card when upgrade new ROM,
but in my case, there was some file created in root of my memory card. i'm not sure how file came from, may be it's created by other program.
try flashing new rom without mem card and sim.

Can anyone help me restore it please
Let me preface this with some quick info about the phone. I bought it two years ago and it was SIM locked to Vodafone, Vodafone basically told the guy selling it to me it'd take 6 weeks to unlock so to get around this I went to a third party phone shop who told me they unlocked it but it wasn't until later I realised they had actually changed the IMEI of the device to get it to work. This was okay though, the phone worked fine and didn't give any real issues until two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago my N910F on Kyubi Note 5 Port ROM began telling me "not registered on network" (couldn't make calls, texts or use 3G), I went through standard troubleshooting with my carrier and it didn't appear to be on their end (the SIM worked in a Galaxy S 3 I have spare). I decided to update to 6.0.1 stock from Sammobile using Odin to see if it solved the issue, unfortunately it didn't. I was advised by something I found online to check if the IMEI was blacklisted on Swappa- turned out it was. I brought it back to the shop who had originally changed the IMEI. The guy in the shop told me it wasn't blacklisted but the reason for no service was because the device had a sum of "none" where the serial number should be when you dial *#06#.
He "fixed" the devices by changing the IMEI again and reverting to 4.4.4. He told me not to update it and everything would be fine. Obviously I wasn't too happy with being stuck on KitKat so he told me if I need to come back within 2 weeks after breaking it again that he'll fix it for free. Now the phone on 4.4.4 was giving a serial number and everything appeared fine.
I flashed 6.0.1 onto it and again the S/N became "none", but everything still more or less worked despite this. Since then I have Rooted it, flashed TWRP and installed Xposed. Once I installed Xposed problems began to arise again, the phone is reporting the SD card as corrupted repeatedly, everytime the phone turns on, once finished booting I will get a black screen with just a navigation bar and an empty battery icon (then after 2-3 mins it's fine), 3G wouldn't work at all, wifi passwords aren't being remembered, following boot I get the error message "process system is not responding would you like to close it".
Thankfully I made a backup in TWRP before putting Xposed on the device and restored the system to that this morning, which fixed the 3G issue but all of the other problems are still there (despite not having been there before Xposed was installed).
What should I try now? Should I go back to the guy again? Should I try revert to stock 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 through Odin? I'm really tempted to just cut my losses and sell it, but I love the phone so much. Any help is massively appreciated.

Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries and therefore the discussion thereof is prohibited on XDA.
