!IMPORTANT! Question regarding NO_ID - Want JJ ROM on myexec - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I am sick of the old ROM, and the outdated Radio. I think many problems can be solved if I can upgrade my O2 Exec ROM to the new JARJAR one from a month ago that was posted on clubimate.
I know I need to use a tool called NO_ID something to make my machine accept a different ROM than O2, say the Jasjar ROM.
THREE PROBLEMS:
1) After making the upgrade, can I CHANGE my DEVICE ID back to the one which I've had before? I have a program that I purchased for a lot of money and it works by the device id only! They are not willing to give me a new version. So I gotta be able to change my Device ID back to the one I had. Is it possible? Would the JJ ROM work after the upgrade if the DeviceID is changed?
2) Can I safely and absolutly for sure revert back to the old ROM which I had? Just in case something will happen?
3) How can I get the latest OFFICIAL Imate rom? Clubimate will not let me download it I guess, because I don't own an IMEIA of a JJ but rather of the Exec.
I appreciate the help!

What do you mean "Device ID" ? Example please? All the software I've seen so far uses the Owner name as a basis for it's code, but sounds like you mean something else. If you mean the IMEI base code of the phone, that won't change and will stay the same.

There should be no problems. I can't give you a 100% on that because I don't want you coming after me in the very rare circumstances there are problems, but I've flashed my Universal about 15 times in the week I've had it and even though I had a few problems (Radio ROM's) I was always able to reflash it/get it working again (including back to the original ROM).

Thanks for being helpful with the links I'll check them
Regarding Device ID. That is EXACTLY what I meant, I didn't make a mistake. My program goes by the DEVICE ID. I think it works in a similar manner to how the Jasjar Rom update does. That is checking that your device ID states it's really a Jasjar and not XDA, QTEK or Dopod. I have a program that I paid $100 and it says it goes by device ID.
It says my DEVICE ID is: 355195001182280158000050BF3F5120
and that is will not work on any other device.
That said,
I know that the NO_ID hack down here is supposed to delete my Machine's device ID. So I'm afraid it will not work anymore... BTW: My IMEI begines with part of that long device ID string but that string is longer that the IMEI I se on the Settings->Device Information
Thanks

I don't get it. The WIKI page for Universal says that Uni_ROM_1.30.68 is a test rom?!?
Uni_ROM_1.30.68
WARNING: This is a test ROM and may damage your device
So how can I get the OFFICIAL LATEST Imate Rom without going to clubimate which I can't ? (I have Exec not imate)

who can tell me why??
thank!!
Me too ....
I can't unlock my phone to use my two SIMCards
HELP me ...
Please
(It's ORANGE FRENCH SPV M600 !)
not working on a qtek s200
Right, let me get this straight...
"Lockiwiz can only unlock your Prophet device if your Rom version is 1.XX.XXX. For the new AKU2 ROMS (i.e Orange M600 ROM) there is no solution yet."
If this is the case, then can we use A-Wizard or the hacked romupdateutility to FLASH back to a pre-AKU2 ROM and then use Lokiwiz to unlock the device, and then flash back to a 'latest AKU2 ROM' (Dopod one is latest and greatest atm) and continue to have a SIM UNLOCKED device???
Please can someone try this? I get my M600 in a week and need to be able to unlock it. Am in the USA atm and need to use a T-Mobile SIM in it.
Appreciate any help.
in theory that would work.... the problem is that i havent seen any rom 1.xx for qtek s200 except for an arabic one or the one from imate jamin. unfortunately, not even with the modified romupdateutility we can flash roms from previous versions from the one installed on prophets...
not only that needs to be corrected, but then someone would have to get a non-aku2 rom, costumize it and then flash it so that the sim lock can be removed.
i need to unlock my prophet too, but i predict a long waiting period ahead...
Doesn't work on my Qtek S200 either :?
I have just CID unlocked my Qtek s200.
What I did.
Downgrade to JAMin_WWE_1000925_10009114_11420_ship.exe
You will need to use a hacked version of the rom update utility or something like JAFWM.
Next I ran awizard latest beta.
And chose unlock rapi.
and then unlock CID.
My qtek s200 was then unlocked. I checked this by running r2sd all command from bootloader.
Hope that helps someone. I will detail these steps and add them to the wiki page for the prophet.
I've tried the following 3 ROMS with the "NoVendorID" loader:
RUU_Prophet_1001321_10013102_11320_DopodAsia_Ship
JAMin_WWE_1000925_10009114_11420_ship
JAMin_Arabic_1000927_10009115_11420_ship
Unfortunately none of them would load as the version was older than the current one on the phone.
Anyone know if it is the loader on the PC that is rejecting the "nk.nbf" file due to its version being lower than the one already on the phone, or is it the loader that is in the phone?
It should be easier to create a hacked loader for the PC so I hope it's that way. It might be a bit risky to hack the loader on the phone as you're in trouble if that goes wrong and you loose the loader on the phone.
Perhaps the old "nk.nbf" file could have its embeded version number tweeked to look new enough? Sounds like the simplest approach, although there are no doubt checksums to make it more difficult.
Or is there a utility to erase all of the phones FLASH except for the loader. Surely it would not complain about any version you loaded then?

It is possible with JAFWM 2.0
Release of JAFWM 2.0 will be 17 of June, there is unlocking implemented but it will be not for free, every handset will cost one credit. Unlock procedure takes around 10 seconds and does not require any technical knowledge.
Since no need downgrade the phone, you also no need worry to damage the phone.

How much is 'one credit' in real money?
For each JAFWM serial number is only one FREE credit possible. Test it, and post here your opinon. I give only 100 free credits to 100 different
We are testing now the beta 4 with Typhoon, Hurricane, Tornado, Wizard/Prophet, Charmer, Prodigy unlock support. Any rom version is supported, please do not try downgrade your phone before, just leave it in ORIGINAL STATE.
Please ask ONLY for a free credit if you really got the phone on hand and can test it right now.
How it works:
1.) make sure you update your pkey online
2.) download latest beta from http://files.odeon.cn/JAFWM
3.) post here your JAFWM serial number and i will add 1 credit to your dongle
4.) put your phone in BOOT MODE
5.) connect cable and press the UNLOCK button
6.) post here your unlocking log and also your opinion, honest opinion, no matter if negative or positive.

Sorry for what? Normally it is not necessary to open a new threat for any question that you might have, just join the different threats about a particular subject.
I guess you are new to all this upgrading stuff. First of all, and most important, is to find out whether your device is cid-locked or not. I think that it is safe to say that when you got your device through a telephone provider, like Orange or T-Mobile, at a very cheap price, then the device is locked and you should have it unlocked before flashing any ROM (except the official ones that you can download from your providers site). When you bought your device retail, at the full price (the Artemis is sold around 500 euro's), then the device is not locked.
Upgrading itself can be pretty straightforward: just establish an ActiveSync connection, run the <ROM name>.exe from your pc and follow the instructions on your screen.

Unfortunately, no, not really. On older HTC models you could find out by running the mtty tool, but it doesn't work on the Artemis. I read somewhere that on our device that whole locking (and unlocking) method is quite different than on other models. That is also why it seems so hard to develop a free unlock tool for the Artemis.
The only way you can be absolutely sure is by running the unlock tool from imei-check, but they will charge you for it.
If you just THINK that your device might be unlocked, then I would not recommend to try flashing any other than an official ROM. Of course, it is your choice and you might want to take the risk. That risk is that your phone will become 'bricked' and won't start normally. The only way out of that situation is returning it to the seller to have it restored. Some people with a bricked phone however are able to restore it themselves with the original ROM, so make sure that you have that ROM available. Some original ROMs can be found on the internet, but not all of them.
sorry but you said

Andreazzo,
Your Artemis, does it have a logo on the body. A logo from maybe T-mobile, Orange, Vodafone, O2 or whatever telecom provider?
If yes, the you shouldn't flash your device with v2.00.02 PV for HTC Artemis ( Crossbow Style ), because the chances are that you will brick it.
If your P3300 only has the HTC logo, then it is fully unlocked and you can flash whatever rom (flavor) you want for the Artemis.
So be aware of the fact. The life of your P3300 is in your hands.
This it is not probably true information. This it is not to end rule
My Artemis he had only logo on body. The logo of start take-off was the only HTC also. No trace T Mobile Orange O2 Vodafone. And I have brick. :{
I tried flash by bootloader however still announcement INVALID ID
Follow for voice grun. get rid (remove) CID - will not it be dust brick as I.

Help Needed....Incorrect Vendor ID

Hi guys...I know there have been numerous reports of this kind, but I can't seem to find the answer.
I don't have this problem myself, but another person does and I thought I'd ask Olipro and the rest of the community for some help and clarification. Also hoping this answer can help anyone else who has this issue.
OK, Someone tried to flash WM6 before using the Unlocker. I know...don't say it. Anyway they now have the black screen of death and the tri-coloured bootloader screen, but are still unable to flash WM6 and obviously cannot use the unlocker until they have an O/S to sync with.
Has anybody encountered this and received incorrect vendor ID and found a way out of this scenario? They have an Austrian T-Mobile Ameo UK, so they can't even use the T-Mob 005 ROM for the UK Ameo (which doesn't require the unlocking of ones device).
Any clues peeps? It would really help a fellow owner out. Cheers for any input. Remember even if you said it before and don't want to repeat yourself again, please just cpoy & paste the answer here so it can act as part of the wiki for future incidents of this nature.
Thanks friends.
I got part of the experience. So I will tell what happen to mine AMEO.
due to some software conflict, my WM6 OS got kill. I was stuck in the tri-colour screen as well.
Since my unit was unlocked before, so refreshing (any) ROM solved my problem. (refreshing the ROM doesn't required activesyn running on yr PPC.)
If can't reflash yr ROM due to vendor_id error, I think the best way is to get the origin WM5 ROM (read it out from another same model) and flash it back.
after getting yr origin OS, then u can proceed unlocker and WM6 upgrade.
Hope this can help.

I need WM5 Japanese version ASAP

S O S
Hi, all
My Hermes' touch screen is dead. I returned it to softbank to get it fixed, but it was sent back to me from the manufacturer. The manufacturer report says that it is because I changed the ROM. Yes I did. You can read part of history of ROMs I ever tried.
Now, I need to reinstall the original WM5 Japanese version as I got it for the first time. I tried to find the ROM in the CD but there is nothing except ms office.
Does anyone have WM5 Japanese version, so I can download it and install it to my hermes?
I heard it that I have to modified the nbh file since I installed HardSPL already? How to modify nbh file?
Thanks in advance..
Sorry,
I got the ROM from this
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
However, the screen alignment software doesn't work. It works when I use it to flash my hermes into other English ROM.
I got the screen alignment software from this
http://www.codefactory.es/descargas/family_1/product_3/MSP_RemoteAlignment.zip
Any help??
I failed to convince softbank x01ht manufacturer to get my device fixed. sadly, i think it's the end of the toy.
RIP my Softbank X01HT, July 24th 2008.
Damn SoftBank, its always like this. We just HAVE to be sure to downgrade to original ROMs when we deal with them...
What did they actually say to you?

what I saw from the report the manufacturer sent with my hermes back to softbank shop was they didn't accept the phone coz the ROM has been changed.
My fault is I didn't change it to Japanese ROM first before sending it. I did try but I couldn't by passing the screen alignment screen in Japanese ROM. Screen alignment software doesn't work in Japanese ROM.
I thing I knew the culprit. I should have removed the .lnk file in windows folder after flashing. But it's too late now..

[Newbie] TTN6 Activation & New ROM

Earlier this year I had issues with my TC not reliably receiving signals and I had tried a cooked ROM (installed Hard-SPL etc.) - so although I am no expert, I am also not completely "virgin" .
Since that did not solve the problem I restored the original ROMs and had contacted HTC and they sent me a new unit a couple of months ago, which works fine (except that it doesn't show the name of my Mobile provider ... but that's not really an issue right now). I activated my TomTom (incl. maps for Europe/USA/Canada) and that works fine.
Current setup:
ROM 1.28.407.2 GER
Radio 1.58.25.14
Protokol 25.69.30.05H
Windows Mobile 6 Prof. (CE 5.2.1623 - Build 18129.0.4.5)But I've seen that HTC has released WinMobile 6.1 and that XDA-Devs have release custom ROMs with Touchflow3D.
Before I upgrade (either to the HTC 6.1 ROM or any of the great cooked ROMs you guys have developed), just some questions for my own understanding:
a.) Flashing a custom ROM will void my warranty (but I could flash back an official version, if I need to send it in for service), correct ?
b.) Will flashing (either 6.1 or custom ROM) require a new activation for TomTom ? (They have already told me that they would allow this only if I had some kind of receipt that the unit had been serviced or that I purchased a new unit).
c.) What custom ROM would be recommended ? (I realize this may be difficult to answer, but there are so many versions that I am completely confused Especially confusing are issues like whether TomTom is in ROM or not and what other add-ons are included. Basically, I do not need to optimize RAM/ROM-usage ... )Cheers,
Andreas
A: Correct
B: The TomTom shipped with the phone does not require activation. the maps however do.
I found that the Device ID does not change after software upgrade. So i dont need to re-activate my maps. Just dont delete your map files, reinstall TomTom and ur ready to go again
C: Depends on ur own like. i used UdK Syrius R1 and it was real good. Now i have M-Amine 2.0 Rom in my own language. also very good.

The device ID should be linked to the hardware, and the application name, and not to the ROM/device firmware.

Should be ... or is ? Sorry if I am being pushy on this, but I just want to avoid having a great ROM upgrade, but a non-functional TomTom (which is very important to me ... a functional one, of course ).
