Hi Guys: I have got the Widcomm Phone edition stack working on my unit.
It seems to be fine but I have not fully tested all aspects of the software - so if any little bits don't work, let me know...
You need to install the official widcomm 1-4-1-59 version
Then you can upgrade it using the cab file I have made.
The 1.4.1.59 version file I got from the following topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=57550#57550
thanks go to mamaich for the file.
the upgrade file consistes of the PE edition files and the required registry entries.
Let me know how you all go on with it - but I am not really a hacker so any serious probs I will not be able to fix...
if anyone else can improve on the installation be my guest
any news about which profiles it support that ms or the old one dont support ?
I hope unintall won't mess up my volume as in case of original bluetoothgps.cab
I can't garauntee it works perfectly, so I suggest everyone make a backup of their system before use.
has anyone tested any BT headset with this new stack?
I've got it installed and it all seems to work well exept for the handsfree/headset profile, I have set up my headset ok it is discovered and bonds fine but when I try to connect from the xda2 the connection fails after "waiting for device" for some time. tried with a motorola hs 810 and a neovoice usb, same with both. Anyone got any ideas?
BT headset
I have a 6315 and an XDA 2, I haven't tried the BT Stack on the XDA 2 yet but I found when I bondeded my HBH-30 to my 6315 once it made the connection my BT Headset shut off for some reson. This caused the bonding to fail, but as soon as I turned my headset back on (while it was trying to discover services) it completed the process and worked on my 6315. I'm not sure if this will be the same, but it's worth a shot.

Test results
Hi fellows
Here is little bit of my testing of this new BT Stack, which we all awaiting for..
Proc…
1. Installed as per instructions 1.59 without any problem. During installation was prom to override .dll files – agreed to do that. For good or for bad – will see later.
2. Installed .cab file provided by icarusbop (big thanks to him for doing this) without any problem. Screen shots will be attached below.
3. Reset it as requested upon installation and got Widcomm BT working instead of MS BT..
4. Paired it with my BlueTrek G2 within 3 seconds (which took usually 10 sec with MS BT)
5. BT recognized G2 as device with Headset/Hands-Free profiles and asked to use as default… I said yes…
Here comes Cons part ;(
1. Unfortunately even after paring – my I-Mate can not get connected with G2 (see screen shot)
2. As you can see in another screen shot – there is Hands Free menu – it can not be accessed, or can be accessed ONLY while connection is established.
3. AND the last L … So, this new BT is not working now… I decided to go back to MS BT… SURPISE!!! I am getting message that BT HARDWARE IS NOT INSTALL ON THIS UNIT…. L Assumption - .dll files were overwritten (see Proc 1)
Here is my 2 cents in this jorney… I am hoping that described problems can be fixed and we can make it working (without doing hard reset on my device )
Paul
thanks guys! for testing hands-free/headset profile. by now everything seems to work fine with this new stack except for hands-free/headset profile.
New comments to my testing
1. I tried what NeoCole recommended - didn't work for me
2. As soon as new BT is OFF - MS BT is working fine .....uf
LETS FIX THE HEADSET PART PLEASE
I posted this is another thread - but in case someone does not read that thread . . . it is relevant here as well.
If the intent of this is to get voice dialing without touching the device, that is by only pressing a button on the headset to initiate a voice-dial program to make the call, there is no evidence this works with this BT stack either.
I have been reading other forums with people who have the H6315 already (mine is in the mail to me now) and none of them have been able to make this work. Nor is there any mention of this capability in any of the literature and/or documentation for this device. It seems that if this was a feature of this phone, it would be prominently displayed!
Voice Command
Okay.. on my 6315 I press the headset button, it beeps, sound and voice is now transfered to the headset. I do this before I initate voice command. Now all I do is press a button that activates Voice Command on the PPC and walla, I'm speaking and listening through my BT Headset. This is a huge step forward from using the MS Stack, and I feel that since the Phone Edition of the Widcomm is 1.0.0 I'm sure that they'll associate a hardware button with the headset button in future releases. Anyhow.. I think that the functionality of the Widcomm BT Stack is well worth the work. The XDA 2 would be a lot better device if the BT Stack worked 100% of the time and was fully compatibile.
I also have not got it working.
the Hp 6315 is well know to still require a hardware button press (not on the headset) to activate voice command. They can still not do with any nokia or SE phone can do easily.
Surur
VoiceCommand
That would be correct... One press of the HW Button does it all on a Regular phone.
The 6315 has brought it closer to allow you to interact with programs using your BT Headset, but yes you must still activate the programs on your handset before you can use them with your headset.
So.. to sum it up...
1. You can't interact with Voice Command using MS BT Stack on an XDA 2
2. You can interact with Voice Command using Widcomm Stack on 6315, but you have to activate the headset first, then start VoiceCommand on the PPC by using the HW Button.
Hopefully through this thread we'll be able to give the XDA 2 the same functionality as the 6315.
And maybe if Widcomm provides an update to allow the headset to activate a HW button, we'll be to the one step solution.
I do not want my comments to be read as stating that this is not a worthwile endeavor. I simply meant to make sure that someone does not go to the trouble of installing this new stack (particularly those who might be considered novices) with the mistaken impression that by doing so they will have that "one step" voice dialing solution.
This is by all means a worthwile endeavor, but it is merely a step down the road . . . not the final destination.
Y'all are doing good work - keep on blazing that trail!
hm.. I would think that it is more of MS Voice Dial functionality than BT - to recognize signal sent from headset as request for voice dialing.
When MS released first version of Voice Dialing they did not expect new functionality to have BT headset with hands-free profile connected to the device.
paired with my Jabra 250 = ok
connected to my Jabra 250 = failed
No luck with Moto headset
Eveything else seem to be working. No problems with detecting and working with BT access point

Hi Rehman,
i tried to install and uninstall, for the very first time i didn't have to get a Hard-Reset done. the volume didn't disappear. so i believe trying it wont be a harm, but yet i would recommend to get a full Backup first.
Trying to figure this out
Okay, I looked through the whole registry. I can't find anything out of the ordinary. Only thing I can think of is the sound driver. Does anyone know what DLL that is? I bet it's a different version.
If someone that knows more about which DLL does what. Let's get all the DLL's that could pertain to Sound and Phone and compair the 6315 DLL's with the ones on the XDA2.
Exclamation Arrow Broadcom Corporation announced the Widcomm BTW 4.0, a new release of its Bluetooth software, with enhanced security and adding advanced audio/video (A/V) capabilities to the industry's most widely adopted Bluetooth software. The new software was tested and qualified for native support and seamless operation with Mcft's recently announced Service Pack 2 upgrade for the Windows XP operating system (Windows XP SP2).
Wireless, high quality stereo audio headsets and speakers enabled by the new WIDCOMM BTW (Bluetooth for Windows) 4.0 software is a new application expected to drive widespread Bluetooth adoption for consumers over the coming years. A/V enhancements built into BTW 4.0 software will bring a new level of audio quality to wireless headsets, enabling a generation of products capable of delivering CD-like stereo sound without the need for wires. The same A/V Bluetooth profile support can be expected to appear in upcoming consumer electronics products like MP3 players, cellular phones, PDAs, and other appliances.
The company sees wireless headsets or speakers enabled with this technology streaming high quality sound while also performing remote control functions such as pausing or stopping play, and selecting tracks. In addition, consumers can utilise wireless speakers, enabling enhanced sound and audio distribution for DVD and CD playback.
Broadcom's WIDCOMM BTW 4.0 incorporates the latest software "profiles," which ensure a common set of features between two Bluetooth devices. Bluetooth profiles are developed and standardized through the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). BTW 4.0 features many of the latest profiles, which provide advanced multimedia capabilities including:
GAVDP -- Generic Audio Video Distribution Profile
A2DP -- Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
AVRCP -- Audio Video Remote Control Profile
BTW 4.0 also supports the Basic Imaging Profile, which provides the ability to "push" and "pull" images wirelessly between a mobile phone or digital camera and a PC.
"BTW 4.0 answers two distinct needs in the Bluetooth space: enhanced security, and the ability to effectively stream high-quality audio to wireless headphones or speakers. It is changing the dynamics of how consumers will experience multimedia content on their PCs," said Ron Wong, Senior Product Line Manager for Broadcom's Bluetooth software products. "Broadcom's unique ability to design and deliver all the critical technology pieces for next-generation wireless electronic devices enables our partners to bring products to market quickly and with features that hold great appeal for consumer markets."
PC OEMs are already shipping Bluetooth in a large number of their commercial notebook PCs and are expecting continuous growth and accelerated adoption into 2005. With this rapid adoption, large enterprises have expressed growing concerns over security and software virus spreads. The new WIDCOMM BTW4.0 software incorporates enhanced security capability to help address these concerns
The software is currently shipping to Broadcom's early access partners...and is available free of charge to all members exclusively

It's for Window PC
I replaced the files from your .rar dewild1 but i get the same message when i'm trying to "start using bluetooth" : " Your bluetooth software license does not include use with this Bluetooth device". Is something that i can do to make them work? I had the "rom version 2.06.00WWE" and the "radio version 1.18.00" and i can't syncronize my xda to activesync via bluetooth, and i hoped that this driver will help me.
When I use the A2DP in wm5/6 I tray all versions BT stack~but no one could work,so I chose 2003se,IT's best for BT A2DP.
Why Helmi Do not fix that?Dose this really hard?
Yes, it's that hard to fix that. The only way we could get wm5/wm6 working flawless on BA is if we had the source code for the drivers and the testing/debug equipment.
If you know someone that works at HTC you could ask them to look for the BA devkit and sourcecodes on the storage rom... hehehe
Mine didn't skip with WM5 and did not skip when I first flashed WM6. Now it does. When I was messing around trying to connect to bluetooth devices (I couldn't connect properly), it stopped skipping for a while. I don't know if this gives any clues.

I know a way to prevented this bug,but not prefectly.
Use regedit tool, open to find software\widcom\plugin\av
add 3 dwords
Linespeed 320 (10+)
Blocks 16 or 32
Subbands 16
You will see the music quality is prefect
but the skipping frequency is above normal~
When using the asus p535,this way will surly improve the quality~and it no skipping,so I thing it must be the bug from the System~
Use win2003 have no such foolish bug.Now I set my pc back up my pda every time connected it with PC~Store the phone book in simcard~
I have no choice
Toxi,
Thanks. I couldn't add the Dword settings which you suggested because I had no Widcom file. So I loaded Helmi's 1.7 Broadcom BT driver. (Always wanted to try it. The Broadcom BT drivers alway better. Immediately after installing, my BA played music better alone and with my BT headsets. Adding the Hemi 1.7 BT cab, added the Widcom file which allowed me to add the Dword registry changes. The music sounds almost perfect.
I tested the BA with these three BT Stereo Headsets: Motorola S9 headsets; Chinese Copy Motorola BT820; and I-Phono RX450. The Motorola S9 works (It didn't at all with the MS WM6 BT Drivers). The S9 would only work if it's 12 to 18" from the BA. That's unacceptable. The BT820 chinese knockoffs skipped as usual (the skip some with every device cause they're knockoffs). The I-Phono worked perfectly with crisp clear sound and no skipping. I can also get further away from the BA but certainly not more than 3 feet without trouble.
In conclusion: Helmis Broadcom 1.7 cab worked to fix the sound problems completely with and without using the headsets. The newer headsets such as the S9 don't work all that well with the BA.
I hope this is helpful for others not satisfied with the music quality of the BA running WM6.
I wish HTC would make a Blue Angle II.
If you have a bluetooth headset, then BtMusic will redirect all your audio to the wireless headset.
It will even resume the redirection after a phone call. So if you get a call while listening to an audio book, your phone won't start talking (with that scary computer voice) and won't not frighten people around, when you finish the call
all files that you need
i haven't tested this with a phone call cuz i'm nowhere near a phone to see if this app does what it supposed to with phone calls per say. the music does transfer.

which user name did you use when regististering?
not working on the Diamond with bepe's ROM 0.54.
There is an error message about the .net CF (install these versions....) - but I guess bepe included a .net CF
The feature i'd incredibly love to have, is a 'auto on' feature :
I try to explain.
To use a gps software in a car with bluetooth equipment, today, I have to
- activate bluetooth sound permanently using btmusic, includinc when the gps soft ware as nothing to say.
or
- putting the music of my radio very low to try to hear guidance instructions.
What would be fantastic is :
When my phone is paired with a bt handfree device :
When there 's no sound from the phone then music is playing on my radio.
When there's a guidance instruction (like when there's a phone call), by bluetooth car kit cut the music and play the instruction over the sound system...
do you think it would be hard to develop?
Thanks in advance!

nope, i'm looking for that since 3 years...
the badest think is that's fonctionnality is integrated in symbian, and in some bluetooth stacks in windows mobile...
Hi, in which bluetooth stacks is it possible?
I have a touch diamond and I'm trying to find out an app that does what you've described...
I don't know it's name, but in the stack included in the wm6's roms for the fujitsu siemens T830 on this forum...
I never seen this stack elsewere...
In this stack there's an option "put audio throught bluetooth" wich do exactly what I want.

BT with Igo8 on Diamond
Im using the BtMusic to redirect the instructions from IGO to my BT headset , eventhough its written here and in the developer site that the BtMusic resume the redirection after a phone call, every time i hang up a a call during navigating, the sound return to be heard from my diamond speaker...
any ideas???
Unfortunatly BtMusic 1.0 beta is not redirecting the sound to the bluetooth headset on my Samsung Omnia!
Can anyone help here?
Ehi man...
I've just tried the 1.0 BETA version and it says to me that it is expired on 1st september!
Any solution?
EDIT:
Just downloaded the 1.0 Beta verion from the official website....
It works like a charm on my TOUCH!!
Works great ...1 request?
hello
thanks for the great application
works well on my Eten Glofish M700 with WM 6.1 rom by TB_TB
the best feature in my openion is that it resumes BT redirection after hanging a call
i used acb ToggleBT that do the same job ... but after installing MS voice command 1.6 it makes the sound come off the phone after a call
my only request is that i had acb ToggleBT mapped to a hard button, when i press once i get voice out of BT & if i press again it goes back to phone
maybe something like the following when mapped to hardware button can happen with next version:
if i click the mapped button, BTMusic screen shows up, BT gets enabled automatically (as if i had clicked left softkey), then the BTMusic screen closes by itself....if i click hardware button again, BTMusic opens then it gets disables automatically then screen closes by itself...
but what happens now is that when i mapped BTMusic, i click & i get the application screen ...then i have to click on "enable"...or "disble" to divert the sound
it would be super nice if you can add toggle function, maybe a link inside the program folder to toggle BT on/off?
Thanks again...GREAT job
expiry date
the latest btmusic cab works fine...
still can not link it to hardware button for toggle action (hardware brings up software screen to furthur choices but does not activate/deactivate BT by 1 touch yet)
also has a popup that says expired 10/15/2008, although the application keeps working fine its just annoying popup...i contacted developers & he wants $10 to release a code that makes it go away...i think its little pricy for a small cab...i wish it gets released as freeware
Thanks for a great application
To one and all,
Two purposes for this thread:
Generally - I'm hoping it will be a good place for all the people (like me) that have tried to get a solution for this issue in so many forums (over so many years)and have simply been told "you need the wired headset for an antenna", to register their interest in a solution - hopefully a bit of chat and interest will finally yeild a solution. A simple +1 should suffice.
Specifically - I listen to FM Radio via my wired headset on my windows mobile device for about 3 hours a day what I would like to do:
I would like to use my wired headset (or some alternate antenna solution - for me to choose, ultimately providing a suitably strong FM signal to my device).
I will then conceal this antenna (depending what it is will depend how I do it (no rude remarks required ;o) )) and then put the mobile phone and the antenna in my pocket.
I then want to listen to FM radio via free to air (not streamed via the internet - data in AUS is expensive, I don't want a sub thread about who I'm with and alternate data plans) A2DP compliant bluetooth stereo headphones.
I am not asking for RDS, although I may look for a radio app with this later.
I am not asking for TMC.
I know this will drain my battery - I can manage this.
I know I could continue to use my wired heaset, however, I and many others based on my XDA and general iternet searching would like a nice simple solution to the above if any developer(s) are able to assist, I and I believe many others with similar non-existant coding skills, would appreciate it very much.
I am not intending to be rude, I have tried to be very specific about my requirements, I am trying to demonstrate that I have done some research and have hopefully highlighted that I do not need any "you need the wired headset for FM Radio therefore it can't be done" type answers.
I am very interested in this community and it's ability to rise to the "I can do that" approach which is why I am posting here.
Any feedback, greatly appreciated - especially if you can point me in the direction of a solution!
Kind regards
apj_apj
How to hide the antenna, I do not know, just using a small adapter with USM for Jack, he was short and easy to hide from the waist bag in his pocket jeans.
Even better quality of reception.
And to transfer the sound to Bluetooth use the excellent program BTFM Radio v1.51
Thanks very much mrTag. I've downloaded the application, can't read or translate the readme.txt or the whatsnew.txt so will just have to have a go I suppose! Does anyone know where there is an English equivalent?
My new windows mobile arrives in about 2 - 3 days, my current one died, so I will let you know how I go when I get it and try it out.
Thanks again for the quick response and the possible solution to my problems!
Here is a rough translation

I've been trying to listen my HTC Topaz radio via my Bluetooth CrashHelmet.
This works - allbeit just one speaker (mono).
Great Thx!
Almost there!
@mrTAG,
I've given BTFM Radio v1.51 a try on my Acer M900 handheld. Its native FM tuner application allows toggling the sound between the wired headsets (which act as antenna) and the device's loudspeaker.
I can't read anything in russian, but I've noticed that BTFM Radio broadcasts sound to my A2DP headsets only when FM sound has been toggled to the loudspeaker, and I tap on the upper left button on the application's screen. Nevertheless, the loudspeaker sound is not cut off at all, for what I have FM sound coming from both my A2DP headsets and the device's loudspeaker. There's not much point in such a behaviour, don't you think? I wonder if I missing some settings, due to my complete ignorance in reading russian. Any hints?
Furthermore, could you give me some guidance in reading the application buttons and settings in general, because I don't have a russian keyboard to try to enter what they are showing, on an online translation tool.
Thanks, anyway.
Cheers!
Carlos
I am unfortunately not a developer program.
Try to disassemble the program and translated into English.
But I'm afraid you do not help, most likely your device is not supported
I was looking for a program like this. One question: does this app integrate well with calls? I mean, if you're listening to radio and a call is received, radio is stopped and you can handle the call? I have a a2dp headset for my helmet and it would be great to be able to listen the radio and answer the calls while riding...
Thanks!
i am going to try this program with my Samsung omnia i900.
And btw, i found out a way to translate the notepad and readme to
english. please find attached files for he english translated readme and whatsnew.txt from the files.

I wonder if your A2DP connection was already active, before you tapped on the first button. I don't read russian either, but I remember seeing a popup window once, when I had forgotten to activate A2DP beforehand.
Well, just for the records, after e-mailing Dmitriy, the developer himself, I've been told that the 1st button is "Start", the 2nd one is "Stop", the 3rd one is "Record" (provided that you have EmzMp3EncDll.dll on your \Windows directory) and the 4th one is "Exit".
Just my 2 cents...
Cheers!

And btw, i found out a way to translate the notepad and readme to
english. please find attached files for he english translated readme and whatsnew.txt from the files.
Click to collapse
I tried it also on a Samsung Omnia i900 but it doesn't affect the radio output, unfotunately! Sill unable to listen to the radio FM on the bluetooth headset.
cool, works for me but i have the radio playing out of both my phone speeker and my bluetooth headset...
any solution? if i turn down the volume it also turns it down on headset...
waiting on my stereo BT HS, meanwhile tried with mono and dosnt work, after playing with it (i dont read russian) when i change advanced bt audio setting to just audio headset goes into feed back like mic is wid open but no radio, i am hoping it will work when i get stereo HS.
FYI i have anadapter for 3.5 & charging and that allows me to listen to radio without the HS that comes with the phone i note these have 6 pins inside ware mii usb for connecting to pc has 5.
thanks for this program either way i've been searching and its closest i've come yet.
Here is the reposted link for the app hope its of use for all
After trying al lot off "software-solutions". I've got the best result with a little conector on my HTC Touch Diamond2 T5353 (HTC Topaz 100).
It's a little thing wich you can plug in via mini-usb, and out there is a headphoneconnector (mini-usb), mini-usb and an audio-jack.
In the audio-jack I plug in my bluetooth adaptor (dongle) of my blackbeat906 headset.
So I save my phonebattery and the adaptor works as an fm-antenna.

Much appreciate your having posted this file in the forum as its unavailable at the earlier mentioned url, however I'm unable to download it it gets downloaded as a .php file and not the .zip file its meant to be.
Also would this work on sony ericsson Elm ( I need a Java version please....)which has its inbuilt RDS radio.
many thanks

Tom
