Krusell case for XDA2

I got it today and very pleased with it. Very nice for everyday use mostly as a phone. I can still type short messages and browse, but for heavy typing I am taking it off and using Krusell horisontic case.

Did you notice how the buttons don't quite line up correctly? I had to 'modify' my case and enlarge some of the holes to make the buttons easier to press.

This is BlueTrek G2. Amazing headset, I have to tell you. 9 hours talk time! And in real life it's very close to it - about 8 hours.

I decided to order another type of krusell case, because of two things with this plastic/leather case you bought.
1. It´s hard to press the buttons and use the screen properly without taking it out of the case.
2. The plastic will get dirty quite easily.
3. The attention drawn to the device, as it is widely open is not wanted.
Risk of getting it stolen is multiplied by many.
So i bought this one instead:

I too bought this one & am very happy with it. The clip on flap that covers/protects the camera lens is genious!

I am using only last call feature of it, but programm is very reach with different functionalities. Since I've moved to 45 dollars unlimited voice calls plan I don't really care

First batch of iMATES didn't came with the case. Besides, the Krusell one that he's got is much better quality. IMHO
i was wondering, why did you went out and brought that case?

hi, sorry if there are any confusing
that message is meant for skenliv
and that krusell case (flip with clip) does come with the phone.
i don't know about imate, but O2 ones does have it included

Does it have the Krusell sign on the front?.. If not, it´s the standard case that comes with every XDA II Phone. And it is REALLY bulky and missfitting. This one is alot smaller in size, alot better quality and the flip is not down (as with the suplied case) but on the Krusell its down.

Nice, good idea.
But it´s not very well protected, what about the screen?
The most important part of the XDA II.
They should have some protection for it to.
And you cant holster it on your belt, because there is no beltclip.
And besides, it has the same problem as the case at the top of this thread.
It gets attention, and will probably be stolen easily.
(especially where i live, to many rich people).

no, it does say krusell on it, it say O2 on it
but it's exactly the same case

Yes it has a plastic protection for the screen thin enough to use it with the stylet.

I have Covertec black leather case...
very nice case.. I've had it since August, and it is still in a great condition...
Build quality is very good.. and it's way much better the the standard case for the JAM.
it also has 2 mini pockets for your extra memory cards... I usualy keep my music stored in a seperate SD... and thus, this case becomes quiet handy :wink:

i have the one it came with which i barely use, and also i bought the silicone one which i dont use much either because it sticks to clothe so its tough to put in/out of my pocket.

Here's mine! Krusell is very comfortable. Using it couple of months. Still good!

I have a silicon case which is ok, but in the end I just found some adhesive foil which I covered the back of my magician (and ipod) with. It looks similar to the original and protects it when i throw it on the desk. It's useless for shocks/drops, but then I never touch my phone without slipping my finger through the loop.

I love mine with a silicon skin. The one I purchased from ebay is the thin silicon skin that comes in 5 colours ...didn't like the one with the protective screen cover, too thick the skin.
The skin makes my phone-PDA stands out..whenever I take it out to answer phone or use the PDa function, everyone nearby just stares at it :-D

O2mini_noob: I got a silicon one in pastel blue and white. Haven't used it for a while, I'll have to pull it out again!

the pastel light blue I am using at the moment..it makes my o2 mini look like light bluish grey which is very striking.
The flourescent green and pink look outstanding too although pink is more suited for gals.

i found it on ebay.
it's great.... first days plastic is very heavy and sometimes there is not contact between stilus and screen
after couple of days, leather and screen cover get magicians shape and now i use only my fingers ; )
the best case i ever buyed.....

Boxwave Flexiskin is amazing..I just put it on today...looks like by far the thinnest skin you can find for the Magician. Whereby most silicon skins today add weight and thickness to the Magician plus not contoured to fit charging cradles..the Flexiskin from Boxwave makes you feel like you're using a naked mini.
The button skin is incredible...you can actually feel the symbols on those buttons. It is the must have skin !!

My pocket is 2 small 2 plus a case on XDAmini......

I use a Piel-Frama Case (did so with my old iPAQ too) and I love them. They may be a bit expensive but are worth every penny. I got a black leather one though.

i had this case and absolutely hated it. first up, i hated having to always open the cover to access the screen (it was a process). secondly, it made my Jam a lot bulkier looking, and a lot of my friends would comment that i look like a "moron" with the case on my phone. i ditched and i got a silicone case with an attached belt clip. i garner a lot more respect now. 8)

Shop or ebay? got any pictures? I've been thinking about getting a silicon cover as I currently only use the cover which came with my mini.

I've tried a few cases and by far the best is the CAPDASE. It's an Aluminium case with a double hinge. Only fault is the window is smaller than the Pdair and is offset to the left.
My main criteria for a case is that it must protect the PDA, be easy to use and not bulk up the unit as did the pdair case.
I also had to make a minor modification in order to get access to the stylus. Otherwise a great case.

Tips for a cheap & cheerful carkit - and it works

I didn't want a transformers style carkit for my Kaiser so I bought a magnet off ebay for a PDA - the Krusell one for £4, it comes with a thin metal plate you attach to the back of your kaiser and the magnet you attach to your dash. Well, it takes a lot to impress me and I must say it looks the business, also means you can have the Kaiser where you want it and not cradled low down. By chance I had my Tomtom Go wired in the dash from the cig adaptor and it's the same fitting, so a bit of re-routing and I have a carkit for £4 and 10 minutes of my time....priceless.
I'll post some pics when it's light ok.

Can someone find a pic or maybe even take a pic of what this looks like when it's attached to the phone? As I've said in a previous post, I'm pretty leery of gluing anything to my baby. Maybe when I get my Seidio kit I'll stick one on that.

Yup that's the one - enjoy!

Just for info...
Be aware that the sliding keyboard uses a magnetic detector to operate and if you suffer strange turn-ons (take a cold shower! ) you made need to use S2U2 or Kaiser Tweaks to disable it.
Same goes for some cases that have magnetic catches, they can sometimes turn your phone on inside the case when inserting.

I don't actually own one of these, so I cannot tell you for sure, but from everything I have read and understand, nothing actually attaches to the back of the phone. The powerful magnet attaches to your dash and then just holds your phone there through magnetic attraction to the battery through the plastic cover.

As long as there are no issues with keyboard sensor (sliding sensor), I would be all over this. I like the clean look.

prob is that you cannot tilt your phone in any way with this...
i gotta say it is a nice solution if you have a spot on your dash that is a good angle for your phone... i dont though so i have to get a mount with an actuating arm.

I've been using mine now for 3 weeks and no problems, the magnet holds fantastic, the kaiser never falls off or moves when mounted. Best carkit I ever had.

Man, I'd love to see a picture of the back of the Kaiser with the plate on it.

This might ruin it for me, but I would have to see a picture. The price for the thing is very nice, but I don't really want to stick something onto my phone.

i bought this phone for my girlfriend, i already have a Touch Pro. she doesnt like the backcover.. me either. it's so ugly compare the original rubberized back cover on my TP. my question is, can i order the back cover for this model TP???

I remember something about using RTE dye? You can use that to change the color to black or something. Search in raphael section.

what back cover do you have on your fuze now then? the same as the MDA Vario??? because the normal TP back cover doesnt fit on the MDA Vario, because i have a TP here and tested it so i don't think this one fits

i just know this'll fit on my fuze. if it doesnt fit the original tp back cover then it wont work with this.

My T-Mobile UK back cover says 3.2mp camera, than the Dutch 3.1mp.
Looks like it's just a stick on label type difference between the HTC type Vario IV cover & the T-Mobile one.
Wonder if it's possible to remove the T-Mobile stick bit with lens holes with a HTC one. Then just got to get the T-Mob bit off front.

mmm I was hoping the original HTC TP back cover also fits the T-Mobile MDA Vario IV...
I have a Touch Pro Landscape Brodit carholder that also does not exactly fit because of the round edges on the back of the MDA as compared to the diamond style Touch pro back. Would have been solved with a TP back cover.
Looks like a no-go then.
What is it that it does not fit?
Would this also mean we cannot use the Extended battery + cover objects offered on eBay for the Touch pro?
Any MDA owner found a solution to prevent scratches on the backside camera lens? As the lens is behnd a sticking-out piece of perpex, it gets scratched very quick! The Touch Pro does not seem to have that issue.

I too thought it odd that the profile of the perspex over the lens is raised- thereby making it prone to scratching when you put the phone down. Odd that they have used a slightly rubberised finish on the back and then elected to have a raised section made of perspex with a coefficient of friction of buger all.

There is no clip and it is hard to take HD2 out. I prefer slip-out cases like PDAir.

Thanks for the info ... it is hard to see on eBay and on your pics ... does this case cover corners ?

It does cover the corners although the top and bottom are open...it also will NOT fit into a dock I purchased with the case on but will if I take case off...but fits in and out of the leather holder on my belt fine with no "sticking"....I'll try to take some better pics of top and bottom at corners...problem is the phone is my main camera and older phone takes crappy pics. On other hand it was only a $3 case and came with a screen protector so not alot at risk.

I would really appreciate better pictures of top/bottom. Thanks in advance !

I have the black gel skin that T-Mobile sells for this phone. It is very smooth and not at all grippy, and allows the phone to slide easily in and out of my pocket. (Compare this to the ribbed, rubbery, and very grippy skin that came in the box with the phone.)
Edit: I see you specified "hard shell" so I guess this doesn't fit the bill.

I refuse ebay. I ordered this Fommy, but it didnt come in yet. The Alumor would be great if it fit.
