I've been experiencing some strange problems with the power save/ auto power off functionallity. I'v experienced a couple of issues with my XDA IIi not powering on due to a flat battery.
I have since identified the cause of the flat battery, the IIi fails to power off after the set time of 2 minutes. If I do a soft reset then the power off functionallity works correctly. I'm not sure if this is a IIi ROM bug, or caused by software I've loaded, the problem normally occurs after using TomTom for a few hours with the IIi connected to the car charger. The on/off works perfectly.
Final question when using the keyboard mode of input should there be a '£' symbol instead of the '$'. I'm sure on other pocket PC's the keyboard shows '£' by default. I've checked the regional settings and these are set to UK, I can select '£' by using the symbols layout. Just seems strange.
Don't know about the rest but the missing £ symbol on the on-screen keyboard does my head in as well. @ and : symbols on main keyboard be nice as well!
Anyone know a piece of software that allows you to Choose custom keyboard maps?
Hi All! I just got myself a new O2 Mini S (Wizard) and i noticed that not all the keys of the slide out keyboard work correctly! For Example When i press "Y" i get the character "Z". Help!!!
Sounds like you got a German Wizard. The 2 keys are switched. There is a fix for it. Howver you will have to search the boards for it. Someone else had this prob just a few days ago.

My TyTn doesn't vibrate anymore...
Yesterday it frooze while receiving a phonecall. It frooze so bad that it wouldn't even restart after a hardreset. After playing around, removing battery, sd-card, sim-card, waiting a while, I finally managed to do a hard reset.
So then I took the opportunity to upgrade my Dutch 1.18 ROM to the Cingular 1.34 WWE. Everything went fine (after a few retries).
But now my phone doesn't vibrate anymore. I did a softreset to remove all extra programms but that didn't work either: no vibration anymore.
Anyone had or has the same problem (maybe after a ROM upgrade)?
I fear it's a hardware problem (the next in a row of ...).
Problem solved!
I found a strange solution for my problem, very strange...
In my Sounds & Notifications I always have Events disabled (because I don't want to hear my screen clicks). With this option disabled my vibration always worked.
Desperate as I was I enabled it and much to my surprise my vibration was back!!!
Since this was strange to me I checked my other deveice, a QTEK S100, and at this one my Events also is disabled in combination which the vibration still works.
So back to my TyTn, I disabled my Events again and see: my vibration keeps on working!!! So now my settings are back to where they were and my vibration is also back...
I don't know what to think of this, maybe a registry-setting was set to a wrong value en corrected by my enabling/disabling Events???
(I checked the "flashing service LED" before; that was value 1, enabled, so that wasn't the cause).
Probably something was happened with uninstalling operations or setting some options in some software: changing them caused a mistake in registry keys and the time key for vibrating was blanked.........
Well, however you're very lucky...... isnt' it??
I have htc wizard with wm6 by faria. Yesterday I bought bt8010 and it all works good, but i realised that i don't have speed dial. But after reset i have half icon of connections, and don't see volume and clock icon, but they are there, becouse when i click there i see menu with options to it. Do anyone know how to repair it ? i've tried deleting and installing next time but it didn't work out my problem...

Hi guys,
I'm very new to pda's/smartphones 'n stuff, so be gentle.
I have a Touch Dual since few days, and the one thing that irritates me is the keyboard backlight. When typing an sms the lights go off just after 8 seconds or so... That's too fast for me, I still have to get used to having a qwerty keypad on my phone.
to be clear: I don't mean the backlight on the display itself, buy the light beneath the keypad when open.
Is there a registry setting, or a tweak/application that could correct this for me?
Thnx in advance,
Lukas
same problem here...
You could try the most excellent KaiserTweak, I've found most of its tweaks to be compatible with my Nike, haven't tried the backlight though -> http://www.jongma.org/KaiserTweak/
yes try the kaiserTweak. it's under option Keyboard->backlight. The default value is 10 sec. you can up the time to more in the tweak.
Downloaded the tweak app, changed the keyboard setting and a bunch of other interesting settings (because I'm a curious idiot in case someone asks) and now the device kind of hangs on the password screen... I can't unlock anymore.
The device reacts to taps and both screen and keypad input. Also, if I type the wrong password I get the obvious error message. If I type the correct passcode, and tap 'unlock' then nothing happens and after a minute or so the * disappear and I can start over again..
Is this a known bug?
What do I do now? Hard reset? That will wipe out all my settings and files right?
Thnx
Lukas
please help... Hard reset did not help. Device is still unresponsive...
This are the numbers I get when the device is booting:
M 04
B 04
R 1.58.16.27
G 25.61.30.03H
D 1.31
just want to make sure you did your hard reset correctly. how did you do it exactly? the button by the battery after you remove the back cover?
I took this from the manual because from what you described. doesn't sound like you did it correctly. a hard reset should put it back to its factory setting.
Hard reset
You can also perform a hard reset (also known as a full reset). A hard reset should be performed only if a normal reset does not solve a system problem. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings -‑ the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the left side of your device.
2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until you see the following message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press ENTER to restore manufacturer defaults, or press any other button to cancel.
3. Release the TALK and END buttons, and then press ENTER on your device.
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
Hi Fatlove...
Indeed you're right. And I did read my manual. And I did it EXACTLY like stated in the manual.
This is what I posted in the General forum:
Ok,
This is going to be stupid, but I'll admit to it anyway...
I've read in the manual on how to perform a hard rest. It states to push the send and end buttons, keep the pushed in, and then press the soft reset button until a text appears on the screen. That text states to press "Enter" to continue, and any other key to cancel.
Well, the 'Enter' key to me is the 'enter' key on that qwerty keypad, not the shiny silver button between the Send and End buttons.
To the writer of the manual the enter key on the keypad does not exist.
So that's why a hard reset did not help. Because I did not perform one.
My bad. Anyways, my phone is ok again, sorry for the doublepost.
Grtz
Lukas
Anyways, thnx for the reply, and for the record: the keypad backlight still doesn't work after har reset and re-applying the keiser tweak. Still lit only 8 seconds or so. Does it matter that I copied the Keiser executable to my storage card? It doesn't have to be on the device itself now, does it?
Thnx again.
Lukas
Nope.. kaisertweak is not working for this property (Keyboard backlight)
Anyone
I tried several Registry settings but nothing worked so far.
Anyone else had succes?
Still no solution for this problem?
It's pretty annoying
I tried changing values in the registry as well, but nothing worked. So I'm also interested in a possible solution...
Damn, I hate that light turning off that quick. There must be a solution
I also have been trying a lot of registry settings without solutions
Anybody knows?
I tried this kaiser tweak on my dual and it had no effect. Had to remove it.
kaiser tweak had no effect on my dual either..
