When I send a SMS, I automaticly receive a delivery notification (The message you sent to ... has been deliverd) even if it isn't deliverd yet.
When it isn't deliverd at the moment, a receive a second notification when it's really delivered.
It's quiet annoying not to know if a message is deliverd.
Is this a known problem? Is there a solution?

I have a problem with my Himalaya, but this might be an WM6 problem also.
When my device is switched off (so in standby) and I receive an SMS, the device does not notify me that a new SMS arrived (doen't ring, blink). I receive the SMS when I turn the device on next time. I'm sure that the SMS should be received earlier because of the timestamp. I also tried this by sending a message from another mobile to myself.
What might be the cause for this? I can receive calls while the device is switched off.
how are sounds and notifications in settings set for on recieve sms?
For "Messaging: New text message" I have:
"Play sound" set to some standard-sound (Alarm5)
"Display message on screen"
"Flash light for no limit" and
"Vibrate" set.

Hi. try to search for the smsalertfix.cab patch and install it. Make sure it is on your startup folder so that it always starts when you do a soft reset.
It has helped me with that problem.
When I am in a message in conversation list once i send my message and get a response from sender i don't see the response unless i leave sms and go back in. I hear the sms sound I even see that there is another sms through the notification. Is anyone else having this problem?
Yeah I've had this happen...
Does anyone else have the problem that whenever you send a message and get a reply something the notification sound or vibration does not go off for that message?
I just got my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 yesterday and so far loving the device. I've noticed one thing that is a little odd though and wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. When I sent SMS messages, the "read receipt" doesn't work properly. If you press and hold an individual sent message and then select "view message details", it says "Error code:Addr.Vcnt.". The message however are delivered just fine and nobody on the other end notices. I use Chomp SMS as my SMS app, and because of this error code the messages always say they are "pending" instead of checking off with a green check box to indicate that they were received. I don't think it's a Chomp SMS issue because the same error code comes up if I sent my messages through the stock SMS app.
MMS messages work just fine, so the issue only occurs with SMS messages. Has anybody else experienced this and know of a fix?

Just as an update in case anyone else ever runs into this problem, I uninstalled Chomp SMS and read receipt started working again.
Hi all,
this question may be general, for all android devices, but having the S10+, i will focus to resolving this on it
So, basically, i love to have delivery report enabled for SMS messages, so in worst case i can double check in messages, if a message was really delivered.
What i would love to is to disable the UI notification, the drop down event from notification bar for every delivery report.
there is no regular way to silence it...
Basically, i still wish to receive the delivery report, but i dont want the notification for it
any ideas?
Agree with you. I have the same issue. Haven't figured out a solution yet. What's weird is this only happens for 1 contact and not for all of them on my phone!!!!
