I'm using PhoneAlarm, so I want to remove all notification from the Start line as I've already have them in PhoneAlarm application.
So I've removed all notification for missed calls, voice mail, sms and so on but they do come back for some strange reason.
Any thoughts on this issue ?

You could try Wisbar Advance 2, this application allows you to skin your top-taskbar, and deside what is shown and what is not...
You could even get Wisbar Advance Desktop as well, and gain full control of your screen...

Have you tried deleteing the shortcut in \Windows\Starup?

is there only phonealarm?

in order to manage missed calls, incoming notifications emails and sms,
are there others apps?
i use my magician since few weeks and i have to say that altought ppc s.o. could make many things, there are not good application to have simply phone functions..... : (
am i right?
my goal is a good screen locker, locking pda also after a missing call (standard lock wakes pda, screen and buttons are active);
good sms manager: big screen and big fonts when a sms arrives;
manage sms and mms sounds separately from other system sounds.
which app do u use for manage phone, sms and profiles?
can u advice me?
thanks in advance
photo contacts pro
For profiles and different sounds I use PocketZenPhone.
The one and only good screen locker is ScreenGuard in my opinion.
For your SMS and MMS issues, I don't know a solution. Maybe there just is no because the phone API of Windows Mobile is not completely officially documented from what I've heard.

i'll second this. For photo contacts pro v4, there's profile for your ringtones such as 'outdoor, meeting, silent & etc' apart from the individual ringtone assigned to your contacts and photo id.
do a search on aivanet or iphone-forum.org

No SMS Notification WM6.1 Workaround

To those who disabled the Conversation Style in WM6.1
i.e. those who edited their registry to SMSAvailable = 0
some drawback of it is the loss of alert of incoming SMS.
install third party software.
my suggestion is
Electric Pocket Ringo
it's a commercial software.
i never suffered from lacking SMS alert.

I have no 3rd party alert software and I have never suffered from a missed SMS alert either. I guess it all depends on which ROM you have installed.
sorry, i forgot the cause....
i was talking about those who disabled the chat-like style of SMS... via registry entry SMSAvailable = 0
it sometimes disables the alert for incoming SMSs..
will update my post.
chat-like style rules!!
i like the chat-like style. it reduces and narrows down all ur messages in a conversation with the same person, so u don't have to scroll down further to look for message/s sent by the same person. well yeah u have to scroll thru the entire conversation if u wanna look for specific details, but its alot easier, i guess?

Check this previous post of mine, it seems to have helped the member that I replied to quite well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1987977&postcount=156
this is how to disable thread mode without lose notification
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInbo xThreadingDisabled=1
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMs g=0
Now that would be the FIX not the workaround...
and since it's FIXed you dont have to follow my suggestion. haha...
ok... another one bites the dust... and that's me
happy developing!
hi,
i get some missed sms alerts - not always - maybe 50% of time - but ive not altered any reg settings :/ any ideas?
thanks
This needs to be stickied - it's fixed the problem for me!
Might be worthwhile releasing it as a CAB file for those unwilling to edit the registry themselves?
PS: This problem also occurs in the Shadow 2.1 ROM after disabling threaded messaging

Solution found!
All these hints did not work for me!
Now i have found a solution: you just need to install "InboxTones" from qorefunctions.com.
In this application you can choose a notification-tone. After you have done this, everything works fine!

Ringtone Manager - A way to manage Incaming Call tone, SMS tone, Alarms, ...

Using this application you can change your Incoming Call, Reminder Alarm, Clock Alarm, SMS Alarm to any sound file on your device with no limitation.
This program supports audio formats like MP3, Wave, AAC and WMA.
Be aware that installing and running this program will turn off functionalities like standard SMS recieve notification and standard SMS alarm notification.
If you want to uninstall it, first remove the shortcut of MessageInterception from Startup folder and then run Uninstall.reg file to enable standard SMS recieve notification and set standard SMS alarm notification from Settings, Notifications And Sounds, then restart (soft reset) your device.
I have tested this application on Windows Mobile 6.0 And Windows Mobile 6.1 and on my own Wizard (G4) device.
Note : This application may disable Threaded SMS.
Please feel free to post bugs and new ideas,
Thanks,
damet dadash
Could you post some screen shots of this app im not sure I know what this does or why it disables the standard notifications? Does it give you different notifications? Sorry if im a little slow.

Um, er... it sounds like its a replacement for standard functionality, therefore only one can handle these events at a time. Also it enhances standard functionality with more sound formats.
What I'm looking for is a good set of sound themes
I'm waiting for this apps !!! Great i will test it immediatly
Dears,
Please report your device info and if it is running on your device or not.

What error did you get after running uninstall ?
Dear speoples20,
This attachment may help you out of this problem.
These files are in zip format, so you should have an application to open and extract them ( uninstall.zip and EnableThreadedSMSMMS.zip )
Is this application for WM 6.0 to enable the Threaded SMS feature found in WM 6.1? Or just an application to deactivate the Threaded SMS feature in the WM 6.1?

As you stated this will re-enable Threaded SMS and MMS feature in WM6.1.

Does your SMS notification behave as expected ? I mean if the application handles them or not.
Change your alarm clock setting to what it was before from Settings, Notifications & Sounds. Then re-check again.
Do you have the same problem with Incoming Call ?
Thanks,
The program has an issue with smartSMS program.
Conflict occured when there're smses sent from smartSMS' red list.

How to: Add alarm and Open New SMS

Hello,
Q1) There are only 3 alarms available in Windows Mobile 6.5. Does anyone knows how to add more?
Q2) Also, I remember when i was using HTC Touch, when new SMS comes in, it appears on the screen and i was able to either 'hide' or 'open' the SMS. On HD2, when I set it to show new SMS, I can only hide it but I can't open it to read. Instead, I have to go through 'HTC Messages'. Does anyone knows how to have both options 'hide' (on the left) and 'open' (on the right) available when new SMS shows up?
Please see attached screenshots if I did not manage to explain well.
Appreciate all kind advice.
Many thanks in advance!
I've tries to add more entries in the registry to add more alarms, but apparently it doesn't work.
and I've no clue for the sms issue either.
does anyone have the same issues as me? any clues?
thanks.
galarm
i guess
indeed, I've read about all e good comments about it. in fact, I installed it 2 months ago, but I encountered problems like battery drains n missed alarms. I've since uninstalled. maybe this problem is not too common with other users, but it was a problem for me..
thanks for your suggestion though.
pTravel alarm?
Works well for me and no battery drain... also if you are on the lock screen you can tap the open widget then swipe the sms widget and it opens sms screen or if you tap on the task bar it will give you the list of things to look at and one of them is the messages screen...
For the SMS, why not just turn off on-screen notification. When you get an SMS you'll get the usual audio/vibrate alert, and an icon in the taskbar. You can then just click on the SMS tab icon at the bottom and you're looking at the SMS. 1 click and you're there.
For the alarm question... there's a registry setting for this, but I don't know what it is. If you use BsB Tweaks you can enable "Windows Notifications" mode which "Enables dismiss X time in notification". This is a crap description and I used to just ignore this option as it sounded completely uninteresting. Then I found out what it is.
With this enabled, you get the option to select a sleep time for an alarm when it's going off (see the attachment). I doubt my boss would be impressed if I chose the last option though
It will at least free up your second alarm as you could just snooze the first one for 10 minutes.
I am also interested in the being able to open an sms from the notification dialog...
On Q1: I've been using SPB Time since quite long time. The new edition 2.1.2 is really awesome. And it answers to your question
On Q2: When I receive sms I have sound + icon above on the taskbar. So if I click on the icon - "notification" window opens and after another click on new sms icon you see your sms. Just you pay one click more.

indeed, i remember this option to open sms on notification used to be available in older wm versions. and we could also dismiss instead of hide the sms.

Annoying unread SMS notification beep

I gone through Sound and notification settings menu but couldn't found anything related.
Do you use Spb Phone Suite?
Oh Yes!!!
Any way to change the sound?
Go to the app's options and check "Phone notifications".
