I have a cingular 8125 (wizard), flashed with 2.16.9.1. Since the update i've been VERY happy with performance, except ofcourse, with the fact that if i open (or close) the keyboard, and the screen goes from landscape to normal (and vice versa), I have about 2 seconds after I hit any button and get a reaction.
As an example, if I turn the phone on in normal mode, then open up the keyboard (screen flips), and hit the 'contacts' button, it takes ~2 seconds before my contacts come up.
is this just the way the device is? I can't remember how it used to be with the regular rom, since i flashed it the day i got it...
I have a qtek 9100 comes up straight away. Have you tried registry wizard it increases performance inc in keyboard mode.

Hi,
I've had my Hermes for about a month now. On about 4 occassions I've pulled the keyboard to use it and input will not be 'received' properly. It seems the Hermes gets stuck in a 'mode'.
Some of the keys work... like at the moment I clicked forward on an email, slid the keyboard out to start typing but the letters did not work. Pressing 'Return' activates the start menu, however.
I started pressing random things to get it work: I pressed the green phone button to get to the dialer, tapped the X for the dialer to get back to the email and now the keyboard is working again. Weird!
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Click to collapse
If you can rule out software issues then there is a push on multi connector inside that may not be pressed in firmly!

I've had this problem sometimes. If I 'beat the phone' to it, or catch it mid-thought, as it were... Just have to be a bit slower with it. Seems that I slide the keyboard out before it has time to allocate the appropriate amount of CPU time to flipping the screen and initialising the hardware input, so it either takes a few presses for it to register, or it just gets stuck in keyboard-in mode, and I have to soft reset to make it work.
Happened on my old Hermes, not happened yet (touch wood) on my new replacement.
Can any body tell me how to run progs. in standby mode. Especially programs like IM+ Messenger every time I press the power button I have to sign on again and thats not cool.I will give the program if needed. Thank you very much..
I don't think its possible, when you hit the power button, it puts it into a sleep state, meaning any running programs are paused, so the CPU isn't wasting your battery.
It sounds like you want a screen lock, for example slide2unlock, which you can set to lock and turn off your screen after a set time, or just bind it to a button, and hit that to lock/turn off your screen, It's what I use when listening to mp3s
Thats odd, on my standard rom I could go into sleep mode and go right back to what I was doing as far as IM and whatnot. When I flashed to nbd 8.2 last week Audio Manager would still run when I went into sleep mode (by pushing button), which was fine by me.
Hi all,
My Mogul turned on by itself at different time, even though I put it on standby/sleep mode. I.e. press the ON/OFF button, but NOT HOLDING that button to turn it off.
I have some Today's plug-in, like Spb Plus, PhoneAlarm, etc. These are also installed in my Hermes (Cingular 8525), also running WM6 and didn't cause any problem like the Mogul. So I am sure it's not the apps.
I have email pull every 15 and 30 minutes.
Any ideas?
Hey all,
since today my Wizard is acting strange. The on/off/standby-button (the one on top of the device) is acting on it's own.
Whenever I'm just surfin' the web, I have a pretty big chance the device will turn the screen off. Also I sometimes get the "Warning, Device will be off, and may lose some data ....."-warning, which means the button has been "pressed" for ~four seconds.
I suspect this is a hardware problem (not too strange after 2.5 years) which I can't easily fix.
I do wonder however, if it's possible to reassign the on/off/standby button to something else and assign the on/off/standby functionality to another button (camera for example).
Anybody any ideas?
Hello there, I am quite new to this forum, only being a lurker for quite some time. But I have decided to join because I am in dire need of help. My MDA/Wizard has suddenly gone out of control. I have had Mobile 6.1 installed on it for years with no problem, and the .cabs I have are working fine.
Now, recently, my phone has acted in a very unfavorable manner that has even caused me to hard reset it to it's original state, with still no luck. On about three different occasions, my phone's lights, keyboard and face, have gone off, and stay on until the phone locks. The main buttons, (Directional arrows, Exit, Call, Internet Explorer, and Mail) do not function unless I press a top right hand corner button on the keyboard twice. From there, it slightly functions. When I quickly press the power button and press it again, the phone will enter its mail area. Doing this again opens up internet explorer. Pressing the center button in the directional pad causes the screen adjustment function to suddenly appear. The keyboard can barely function.
I have no idea what's causing this, any help please?
try getting the newest hard spl and flashing a new rom. maybe your rom got corrupted
