Has anyone sorted out a way to extend the timeout on the backlight

Sometimes my keyboard backlight goes on and sometimes not, where can i change the settings for the keyboard?
By default, the keyboard is set to use the backlight auto sensor. Depending on ambient lighting your keyboard backlight will either come on or not. If you don't want to use this feature and have your keyboard light come on every time you touch a button go to Start>Settings>Buttons and on the Backlight tab uncheck "Enable keyboard backlight auto Sensor"
How about the keyboard staying on when charging and open? Any ideas (reg hacks) for that?
Nothing worse then driving at night with no ambient light and trying to press the correct key the first time.
Does anybody know a tweek that changes the time the keyboard backlight stays on for.
At present seems to timeout after 5 seconds.
known issue... i hate it!
but no solution as of yet
Hi All,
What i want to do is how can i set a timeout for display off. That is to set, say, after 10 second, the display for my machine will turn off. Just like the time out for power off.
I am using WM6 on my Herms200, I know how to turn off the screen without poweroff. I know WM6 already have timeout for backlight and power off. But it seems that there was no timeout setting for display off.
That is a very commond features for nowaday mobile phone.
I hope my question will be a new one.
Does anyone know of a tweak to lengthen the time the backlight stays on when device is not in use in battery mode, longer than the default maximum? Thanks.
Can this be done? Others have suggested that it's in Settings->Sound & Display->Keyboard timeout for other Galaxy S phones, but that Keyboard timeout doesn't seem to be there. I only see Screen timeout which doesn't effect those soft buttons.
It's a known bug that Samsung will address in its next ota update. No known fix at this moment unless someone writes an app.
