Stereo bluetooth - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Read loads of post about this subject but still unsure, hope someone can help.
I have a bluetooth car-kit Nokia CK-7W and a XDA MINI S. (ROM 1.5.4.2)
I can get audio to come out of the car kit (Media player, TOMTOM etc) by switching BTAudio toggle. This works fine, but mono low quality, like an AM radio.
I need A2DP to be able to get stereo output.
Is this car kit A2DP compatible?
Is there a ROM upgrade available for the XDA mini S yet which gives A2DP functionality?
Thanks in advance.
Darren.

get the qtek rom it works
qtek rom works great with bluetooth on the xda mini s

which rom version
which rom version from qtec for xda mini s has A2DP?

Can Bluetooth v 1.1 be upgraded to v 1.2 on XDA II

Can anyone tell me if the XDA II can be upgraded regarding the version of Bluetooth ie. spec states ver 1.1 can this be upgraded to ver 1.2 which allows for the use of stereo bluetooth headsets etc.
Thanks
Mike Simmonds
i think bluetooth revision and profiles supported are 2 different things
you may want to look into bluetooth stacks insted of revisions because i think thats hardware related
I guess from this then, my original question should now be,"Can I use/upgrade my XDA II with bluetooth stereo headset (rated bluetooth v1.2)"
Thanks for the reply

AFAIK, Bluetooth v1.2 is backward compatible with v1.1. Besides the same basic technical stuff, the 1.2 adds Advance Frequency Hopping so it can connect better in a crowded wireless radio area and faster connection between Bluetooth devices... And the v1.2 compatible Bluetooth devices can still connect until 100 metres.
So basically yes, you can use a device/headset rated Bluetooth v1.2 with your XDA.
I once tested a v1.2 Bluetooth headset from Billionton to connect with an XDA II Mini, I can still communicate with the Mini and me are roughly 80 metres apart, although the sound quality was horrendous, it's mostly because of the headset itself, not the connection fault.
Just to be sure, try pairing it first if you want to buy a v1.2 Bluetooth headset with your XDA.
Can I assume also, that I would be able to stream stereo audio via the XDA II to the stereo bluetooth headset, & would a headset mic also function?
Thanks for your reply

As far as I understand, both Himalaya and Blue Angel are equipped with Bluetooth version 1.1.
I've done some research on this, since I wanted to connect stereo headsets to my MDA III just like you apparently. The 1.2 standard is downwards compatible and apparently it will work to connect a 1.2 "stereo" headset to your device. BUT you will not be able to enjoy stereo.
Headset and device can connect, but since your device uses 1.1, it won't be able to broadcast stereo.
(I haven't tried all this, but it's what I found out during extensive research).
Apparently, Bluetooth 1.2 requires a new chip. So unfortunately it isn't that easy to upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2.
the ms bluetooth stack and also the vidcomm i believe dont support A2DP
which is required to get stereo audio to a headset
you can use this though

You can even hear mp3 with bluetooth at mini
How that? This is the first time I hear somebody claiming that the Magician is capable in doing this. Which ROM version do you have?
Nsriza,
Have you actually got the bluetooth/MP3 working on your JAM??

I don't think this is possible on the Magician yet else it would be headline news!

Definitive answer on Bluetooth and carkits

After reading and trying nearly everything I have read on these and other forums I am still unable to get my XDA II to work with my bluetooth handsfree kit, The handsfree kit is a Nokia CKW-1, I have installed Bluetooth tools and tried this route but that didnt/doent work, I am running xda2.hery.mod.a Rom 2.06.00WWE Radio 1.18.00 Protocol 1.337.38, I am more than happy with it all aprt from the fact I have to carry another phone to connect my carkit, and then end up switching sims all day long so I can use the XDA for remote desktop and then taking it out whilst I am on the move so I can take calls
Any pointers at this stage would be greatly appreciated
TIA
Orinoco
I have the exact same problem with my motorola h700 carkit!!!
I have the version of rom on qtek2020.
P.S: The headset of platronics works fine...
Plz check this forum as there are many old threads on the BT carkit issue.
The (standard) MS BT stack on Himalaya does NOT support the handsfree profile that most carkits use.
It only supports the headset (for...headsets) and serial-port profiles (for e.g. gps).
There is a Parrot carkit that can be configured to use the headset profile however.
Himalaya was one of the first devices to use the MS BT stack. Nowadays with WM5 everybody is and now they also support more profiles (incl. handsfree)
Upgrade to the WM2003SE (Second Edition) ROM from buzzdev.net. That supports "handsfree" profile as well as headset. It works just great with my Parrott bluetooth car kit, two Nokia & Motorola bluetooth ear pieces and my TomTom bluetooth GPS!
(Use WM2003SE rather than WM2005, as this will still run all your existing WM2003 applications whereas some WM2003 apps don't work on WM2005 (such as the Safecom wifi card or Tom Tom Navigator v3)
youre right if you mean the 2.20.07 (chinese translated to english) rom.
That one does support headset, handsfree and serial port.

A2DP (stereo bluetooth) on Qtek 2020

I installed A2DP bluetooth update for Magician ('BCHS_FOR_POCKET_PC_OZONE.ARMV4.CAB' found on 'O2 MINI NEW BLUETOOTH STOCK' thread) on Qtek 2020 and it works well with my Motorola HT820 stereo headset.
A2DP on Qtek 2020
Well Pooh,
You seem to be lucky, I'm trying with a WCS1 Headset in a motorcycle helmet (from BMW) , I tried to change the CPU speedsettings with PocketMaster but to no avail. Some speeds work defenitely better than others but it is still skipping on some songs. Some songs do play well other are skipping all the time. Would you mind to provide the specifics of the played music ? mp3 ? 320 Kb ..
Many thanks
André

What rom do you have.
I have also had success with this CAB on my XDA II with a ITech Clip S. It works for both voice calls and stereo music. I'm running the UK rom with blackberry support (1.72.00WWE).
Stereo music worked straight away, but I had to play around a bit to get the voice headset profile to work, and in the end, installed Pocket Bluetooth Tools, reset the Itech and rebonded with the new headset profile and it worked like a charm.
ps, first post for me, so I thought I'd make it a useful one
andrecollin: I tried a couple of mp3s and all of them are played fine. There is an information about transmission speed displayed in a tooltip after clicking the bluetooth streaming icon: 195 KB/s (Kbytes/s).
imablackhat: The system information is: ROM 1.66.00WWE, ROM date 02/20/04, ExtROM 1.66.140, WM Version 4.20.0 (Build 13252), CPU Intel PXA263. The ROM has never been changed. It is original WM2003 (not SE). The device comes from Danish Sonofon GSM operator.
A2DP works perfectly. However, there is probably no support for AVRCP (I cannot switch to next/prev mp3 by pressing buttons in my HT820). In addition, bluetooth streaming works with Windows Media Player. I did not succeed with TCPMP (silence in the headset).

A2DP music playback problem

I am using Helmi's WM6 and original MS BT stack. (major thanks!)
Pairing up with a Sony BT stereo headset as wireless stereo and headset is fine. However the music is jerky when playing. Anyone had the same problem? Is there a fix?
Same thing here, i am using the same headset that i am using with my Himalaya and wm5 2.03 by tofclock and it is working perfect, but with blue angel and this rom it is skipping a lot....
bluetooth on BA always had problems. That's why I'm looking forward to get a tytn II (att tilt).
I have 5 different bluetooth headset (not stereo headphones) and none work properly unless I hold the BA close to my head...
So I guess there is not much you can do.
Hardware not support A2DP
I think its not ROM, maybe its the Blue Angel because A2DP is not supported with my Blue Angel better check your model
