Please,My XDA II seems to never last one whole day....say 45 min of WMA, and a few phoen calls say lasting for 30-40 min total...and playing around once in a while....can't even last until i get back home at night after work....is there some problem that I should know or a way of charging the battery so it can fully charge properly......at night it is docked synced with the pc, and I've toggled the screen so i will blank....but still doesn't last as long as they say it should....150hr stanby...not even near.... please help thx
I guess you have a problem...
Mine runs up to 7h on MP3 with diplay switch off.
Your problem is surely not a standard one...
My Battery lasts between 18 and 30 hours depending on use.
Some power saving tips
1. Reduce the level of brightness while on battery.
2. Turn off automatic beam receive.
3. If your phone is constantly searching for a signal turn off the radio and wait till you move positions.
4. If you don't use bluetooth, turn it off. If you do, consider using it when just necessary.

Thx...I'll have to contact XDA II about this....I just got it for 3 days
By the way,...does the first battery charge time make any difference in the latter use of the battery
lichion batt first get their full str after awhile i seem to recall
also do as the manual say at the first charge dont use the led to
see when it's don leave it charging for 8hours
I have 2 batteries. I normally swop my batteries at night. I never have the problem of running out of power until 2 days back. I had a battery low 20% warning at about 5+ pm. That was 'cos I was using it more than usual. If this helps.
regards
I am facing battery problems. I fully charge my phone and after a few short calls my battery level drops down to 90% remaining level. Am I the only one facing this problem ? I have made necessary changes to improve the life.
1) reduced the back light to auto shut after 15 seconds of inactivity
2) standby mode in 30 seconds of inactivity
3) backlight is set to the second bar.
3) GPRS is not connected bluetooth is off and wi-fi is off.
I just purchased this phone 2 weeks back so the battery is brand new
Battery info: model number is PM16A, 3.7 Volt DC @ 1200 mAh (DynaPack)
I need to recharge the battery every 24 hours. Is this NORMAL ?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks.
It's normal. Battery life in pocket pcs and pocket pc phones in general is like that.
I've always noticed that in my PPC and my Prophet, the battery drops down REALLY fast to 85-90%. Then it slowly goes down. Then around 60%, it again gets stuck. Then it goes down again, but very slowly. You'll get a good 2 days of usage with moderate use.
Though I usually charge my phone every night, when it is at about 55-60%.
In the morning when I take it off the charger, it drops down to 90-92% after I only read 1-2 SMS messages and maybe make a short 5 minute call. It's normal.
Greets.
How many time does your Prophet works until you get 0% battery?
Is it normal that mine only lasts for 2 days, being that it is always in standby?
Thanks.
usually 3-4 days, 2 days is not normal if it is always in standby, unless you have bluetooth and/or wifi on.
Suggest you also turn off the IR beam receiver, as well as the BT and WiFi. all of these consume power in standby.
You can also turn the backlight down. Mine runs at 25% backlight setting, which seems fine. Standby time is 5-7 days, although it's easy to run out of power in a couple of days with lots of calls and/or application usage.
Tom Tom 6 is the hungriest I found so far, running processor, backlight and BT. Then the S200 only lasts about 6 hours on battery!
Backlight and wifi does NOT consume anything in standby, as both are OFF.
BT and IRDA (quite) does only consume power if it's exchanging data with another device, even if the pda is turned on.

Sorry, you are wrong about BT and IRDA. Let's take them one by one:
Mobile on - IRDA on - consumes power since it is all the time polling the sensor for incoming transmissions. Consumes more power when transferring data.
Mobile on - BT on - consumes power since the radio transceiver is on. Consumes more power when transferring data.
Mobile standby - IRDA on - does not consume any power, but cannot receive transmissions
Mobile standby - BT on - consumes power since transceiver is on, and transmissions bring mobile out of standby
Sorry, but I'm not

The power consumptions you're talking about are insignificants, and won't reduce battery lifetime (except for a few minutes, but hey we don't want to spend time on this right ?)
If you don't want to run tests by yourself, please read this :

thanks for the link, it was very informative, however negligible is not the same as nothing for someone trying to squeeze the most life out of a battery.
This does not change the fact of course that rjtd has a worse problem than just leaving BT and IR on!
I never ran such a test to tell so, don't know if mine would last longer than 2 days in standby..... but I guess it would
I usually have to charge every night, although it's not empty, I know it would be the day after ^^
Mine lasts for about a day and a half. It is overclocked when active (to 260Mhz) and i use navigation for about 1 hour a day average. Phone calls are usually ~15 minutes per day.
These are estimate values and may vary. BatteryStatus helps knowing about these as well
When i don't use navigation it lasts for two full days. Usually ends the 2 day period with about 5-10% battery.
a reply more direct to the original question - a friend of mine who applied the latest Dopod shipped ROM and is not a heavy user, i.e. calls, sms', standby, organiser, no games etc, has his battery lasting about 4 days.
Hi guys,
Since a couple of days my phone wont go into standby after the amount of time set in de energy settings. The brightness will fade but the display wont turn itself off.Already changed the settings to 30 seconds and one minute.
Does anyone have a clue?

Install this cab and let me know....
When night clock is active on my phone it turns on and off every couple minutes. Anyone having this issue?
Mine does the exact same thing. I have timed it, 3 minutes on, 2 minutes off. It started doing this after the last AOD update....I just switched it off...real bummer
No mine stays on, are you setting it correctly (time on/off), i actually prefer the AOD and use that timed as my night clock.
