Back up SMS - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Is they any software that is like Activesync, when i can back up all my SMS messages by just connecting to a PC
Marc

Jayo Mobile Companion,

Perfect for what you want, sits on the pc and connects to the pda through activesync.
Displays contents of the sms (all inbox sent etc) with the option to send texts from pc, contacts, call history, system info (batt & storage used) and the Task Manager showing all running processes.
also gives the option to export your entire SMS Contacts and Call History to a single file which can be imported at anytime.
Doesnt do it adhoc, you have to remember to select export, but gives great control from PC,

Cheers, will try that one out....
always doing a hard reset and can not back up my SMS
Thanks again

view sms inbox/outbox from PC

Hi
is it possible to view the sms inbox and outbox of my XDA2 on my local pc via activesync.
Thanks for any advice
Pocket Controller
Hi
Try SOTI's Pocket Controller - I use it even though I suspect (NOTE: Not confirmed) that the software causes some activesync issues.
The other option is Jeyo's Mobile Extender which extends the Pocket PC's SMS inbox to Outlook on your PC.
Cheers

When you are talking about Jeyo... can someone tell me if it is possible to get the SMS messages back to the device after a hard reset?
thanks
Thanks Sands
While on this subject has anyone got any good links for developing software which links to the xda
SMS Folders on Desktop
I use AIM Productions' SMS Cool! which works fairly well but you can't restore the folders to the phone. It also gets a bit slow when you have a large number of messages in your inbox and sent folder.
i use Jeyo Mobile Companion and it's very good prog.... you can backup and restore your sms very easy and fast.........

Create SMS messages on PC screen

Is it possible to type / send / receive SMS message on my PC screen whilst my XDA2 is synchronised and in its docking station?
SMSing using your PC keyboard and Monitor
While Synced you can use the following programs to send SMS using the PC.
1) Jeyo Mobile Extender (www.jeyo.com) highly recommended. It is cheap works flawlessly and allows your SMSes to be stored in the Outlook folders. Just manage your SMSes the exact same way you would your emails.
2) Pocket Controller Professional (download trial from Pocketgear.com)
Concept is similar to the original PPC-Remote from MS, but a gazillion times better
You get to control the PPC remotely from your desktop. Better yet if you have bluetooth on your PC.
PERFECT for geeking around with your PPC sans stylus.
And for Aesthetics, it has skins of most PPCs that you can download and the hard buttons work!
SMS via PC
I use SMS Cool! from Aimproductions which works well for me. Imports all your current SMSes, inbox, sent and deleted items but texts you send from SMS Cool! don't appear in your sent folder on the PDA, unfortunately.

Thanks all

how to read SMS from SIM card on XDA II ?

I was trying to figure this out..
but.. i found there's no internal operation can do..
is there any software can do??
thanks a million for the answer
not that i've ever heard of
You can never do it, since all HTC devices are unable to read SMS from SIM cards!
but you still can do it,,, here's the trick:
using another phone (say NOKIA), put the SIM card in that phone & connect it to your PC, use any phone backup software ( I use Oxygen Phone Manager, its very good) & export the SMS messages to MS Outlook.
Then, import the generated outlook file into MS Outlook.
After that, use JEYO MOBILE EXTENDER (a plug-in for MS Outlook) to copy the messages from outlook to your SMS folder...
Thats the whole story, it works 100% 8)

Save all your SMS automatic to Storage Card
Try this SMS/MMS/Email messages export program. It saves all your new messages into a custom directory on every incoming SMS!

ActiveSync: SMS

I have an XDA2 with ActiveSync 3.7.
Is there a way to backup the SMS messages in my Inbox and Sent Items to my PC using ActiveSync?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
You can use third party to backup

I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I really want to find a way to move a whole load of texts from my phone to my PC but I would like to be able to refer to them on the PC.
The Jeyo application does everything you've asked for and has been reliable for me.
I use Jeyo Mobile Extender.
It's pretty cool, keeps all your messages in a .pst on your computer. So you can periodically delete all the messages on your device and still keep all your history on the computer.
Integrates well with Outlook. I think you can get a 14 day trial too.

Email: Synch 'Sent' Folder Only?

Is there a way to synch ONLY the 'sent items' folder via ActiveSync or do you have to also keep copies of the various messages from Outlook also on your phone?
Bump. Anyone?
connect phone to pc, on pc open windows mobile device center, click mobile device settings - change content sync settings - email sync settings - untick the folders you dont want and tick those you do (sent items in this case)
Sorry, I think I didn't express that well. I want to synchronize only the sent items from my phone to Outlook on the desktop so that I can preserve any replies I send from the road while having the original message downloaded to my desktop when I return home. The settings you describe will only synch MS Outlook items with the 'Outlook' folder on my PC, and the accounts I set up on my phone do not appear in the folder tree to be selected. So that configuration won't work for me.
It seems that no combination of what I want is possible with the current software, yet I can't believe I'm the only one with this need.
Let me explain.
I use Outlook on my desktop and only use the phone for reading and replying to messages on-the-fly. Knowing that I will have a copy of the POP message on my laptop (which serves as my home pc also) when I get back at night, I only want to file and keep a copy of any replies I make from the road. My hope was to have any sent items uploaded to my laptop, I can run rules on MS Outlook to autofile to their respective folder structures, and I'm done - both received POP messages and their corresponding replies are preserved.
I own a copy of FlexMail, but it won't synch with Outlook, so that's not a solution. And there doesn't seem to be anything else out there that'll do what I need.
Any thoughts?
Bump. Anyone?
Guys, just to reiterate the question...
How would you get (move/copy/backup) messages from the local email accounts you set up on your HD2, to your Outlook PST on the desktop?
