Changing the colour of the flashing LED's? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I have noticed that when in my peripheral vision, the green 'normal' LED looks like the yellow/orange 'message/missed call etc' LED. As a result I spend a lot of time staring at my phnoe waiting for the next flash to verify the colour of the LED in use.
If the alert one was red, then I wouldn't confuse them.
Anyone know how to do this?

Can the notification LED color be changed?

Green and yellow almost look the same to me (maybe I am color blind) but I would like my notification LED to blink RED and not yellow when notifications are waiting. Anyone know if there is a way to change this in the registry?
Thanks,
Keith
I wanted the same thing. Actually I wanted the BLUE LED ( Bluetooth ) to blink for SMS/MMS and the RED for Notifications/Missed Calls.
But I never got an answer - so I guess no one has figured it out (yet)

LED

Hi!
I don't know if this is by design or it is a problem with my device but I found very strange that there is no led light to show me if I have signal or not or if there is an event. The led from the power button goes orange when I charge my phone and continuously green when fully charged. But when the device is disconnected from power source the led just goes off and stays like that even if there is a missing call or an SMS. It at least should blink green to show that there is signal. It is the same for you? If yes, is there a way to turn on the led?
I am using Dutty's ROM 2.1.
Thanks!
It does...
Change your sounds and notifications settings.
Sorry to insist but can you be more speciffic? What should I change there? For intance on the Missed Call I have selected "Display message on screen" and "Flash light for 30 minutes".
I am also using PhoneAlarm and this one is set to flash the led for most of the events. But it does not work either.
Thanks!
yes, you change to "flash for xx secs" for xx event
but the rest of the time it is off
its only 2 colour, ornage for charging and green flashing for events... .no blue for BT or steady on etc for signal
As I said, it is already set like that.
The LED is located on the power button.
Buggered setting i guess, try turning off the flash setting then try a reset and then turn back on again,
I will do that, thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Blue LED would be much appreciated though. ( it looks cool on my Elfin)

LED indication

The LED has the following:
1. Green when fully charged and while on a charger
2. Amber when charging and not fully charged
3. Flashing when a new SMS, email or missed call.
My question is: how can I set my TD2 to flash to indicate a new SMS, email or missed call at the same time as charging? It would seem that the charging indication takes priority over the flashing.... I want the flashing to take priority.
Does anyone know a solution to this please?
I would like the same.It will be great with no missing call or sms until you unplug your phone...and what about the second light next right to the phone? thanks a lot

There isn't a second light - it is a light sensor.
The light flashes different colors. So it could have be in rhythm with one color and different rhythm of another color.
R=Red, G=Green, Y=Yellow, - = 1 sec
---R---R---R---R---R---R---R (Charging)
-G---G---G---G---G---G---G-- (Missed Call)
Y---Y---Y---Y---Y---Y---Y--- (New Message)
So if it were charging, while having a missed call and new message, it would blink
Yellow, Green, Red, Yellow, Green, Red, etc
If it were just charging and a New Message it would
Yellow, pause, Red, Yellow, Pause, Red, etc
Just a Missed call would be
Pause, Green, Pause, Pause, Green, Pause, etc
So basically if you walked away for a minute and you had a new message and missed call while charging... it would be going crazy. You could even make a dash equal to 2 seconds to slow it down... or 3.
Well Player911, you do have a vivid imagination! Simply just flashing any colour would do nicely for me when charging and something has arrived from SMS, email or missed call.
Can you fix it?
I would prefer a green blinking light simply as a 'breathing' light. Maybe it could blink amber/red when it is low on battery.
It should burn full time only when there's a new event.
Anyway, preference may vary, but I think we all agree that it would be awesome if we could customise it!

I have the ideas, but not the know-how.
I am close to a solution and am currently testing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1954259.
It seems to work, but the drawback is that you lose the LED notification for charging/charged completely to get the LED's to flash on an SMS/Email/missed call....
EDIT: This doesn't seem to work. It will work for a while, but if you charge then remove and then charge again, the charging LED comes back on. This then overrides the notifications LED which is what I want to take priority Back to the drawing board.
Hi,
can anybody provide a hint on how to change flashing time of the green led indicator? It blinks on missing calls but I'd like to increase the blinking period. I have HTC TD2 with Manilla 2.5 and Touch Sense.
my TD2 comes tomorrow, i think i miss my kaiser's led indicators when using TD2. kaiser is the best and enjoying with its leds, mostly when gps wifi and bluetooth opened at the same time

My old P3300 (Artemis) was like that too - quite a light show with gps, wifi, and bluetooth all on. Doesn't last long, 'cos the battery goes flat!
I really miss the flashing green "in service" LED. It was so handy to know a) you had reception and b) the phone hadn't crashed or the battery expired. The TD2 just sits there "lifeless" giving you no feedback at all.

HTC Vogue LED?

Well, as you may know, on the front of the device there is a LED within the speaker that flashes green; blue when bluetooth is on; red when you soft reset the device; orange when you are charging. is there an app or registry tweak that will let me mod the intervals and what color flashes? one idea is to glow a color when you tap the screen, or have it flash rapidly in different colors when receiving a call or sms/mms.

It does exist (I am not sure about the functionality that this will allow you), but there is a program that someone made a while back to control the LED. It is under D&H and I will give you the name as soon as I can remember it. It was LED something...

Multicolor LED shows wrong colors

So I tested the notification LED, and no matter which colors I set in the apps, most were not showibg correctly.
So I started the internal test (dial *#36446337# to enter the internal test program, then go manual test and then led test.
There you can set the brightness of all 3 color leds manually.
With all 3 set to 100% I'd expect roughly white. Instead, this looks white-ish on my led:

Red and green gives yellow, but not here, it's alnost pure green. I get yellow with this setting:

So it seems the red LED is massively underpowered against blue and green, making all color settings in apps look wrong.
Does this look different on your 1+5?
Really? No one cares? The test takes 2 minutes!
I agree (but no, I don't particularly care) - the green LED seems much stronger, and the red may be a little weak.
RBG @100% only has a slight blueish tint for me. G+B looks like a reasonable cyan. I think what qualifies as "yellow" is subjective (c.f. "grue"), but I agree R+G is closer to green than yellow.

Keep in mind that the human brain is less sensitive to red.
Um, yeah, I know that, but that needs to be integrated in the led calibration. All three at 100% have to show white.
Anything else doesn't make sense at all. In the settings there are 8 colors to choose from, and those have to be the colors you actually see if you choose them.
