Launcher problems. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I've been playing around with iLauncher and cLaunch on my 9100.
cLaunch installed just fine and everything did seem ok right after installation. The next day, though, the device was not behaving well at all. Everything was very slow and the keyboard only registred 1 out of 4 keypresses. Deselecting cLaunch and choosing iLauncher instead (no reset) cured the problem instantly.
While iLauncher seems to be working fine and stable there are some features in cLaunch that I find nicer for my use.
Anyone with similar experiences/solutions?

Off topic: Alarm with BIG off / snooze button!

Hi, sorry to invade with what seems like a trivial issue but does anyone know of an app that allows the following functionality? I used my old phone as my alarm clock and am missing the functionality on my Magician -->
1) BIG snooze and off button / or hardware button map for off/snooze (can't see much at 5am!)?
2) Play audible alarm at max volume even when PPC muted?
Any help would be much appreciated - or good excuses as to why I have been late for work since I got my new toy!!!
Thanks,
OB.
How about this one?
that prog is great and what u ask for. i use it myself!
Perfect!! Thanks very much indeed...
One slight problem - The today plugin conflicts with my Calendar plugin and completely removed it from the today screen and config page?!?
I did a few resets and uninstall / re-installes to no evail, so I removed the pTravelAlarm plugin registry entry (software|microsoft|today|items) and ptplugin.dll (windows dir) followed by a soft reset and my Calendar was visible on the Today screen again... odd?
I am not too bothered about the Today plugin part of the pTravelAlarm program so still happy
OB.
You could also try Spb Time. Large snooze button. Never fails to wake me up.

Which plugin do you use? I'm using calender+ without any problems.

This was the standard built-in plugin that was trashed -- I did try Calender+ and it worked fine, but wish it would show a tomorrow appt. if it is the next one, as the built-in one does...
OB.
I have now tried both the pTravelAlarm and the Spb Time. The Spb Time is cheaper, has more functions and are better looking than pTravelAlarm => use Spb Time
I don't follow you with that you can't see tomorrows appointment with calender+. I can see the following two days with all their appointments. You can easily display up to 31 days with calender+.
Spb Time is about what I wanted as an alarm when migrating from Nokia to Magician. Had to install some fix to get it working though. Alarms and Windows Mobile doesn't seem to get along.

I like to display next 2 appt. only. So if I have a 5pm and an 8am next day, I like to see them both on the today screen but not more than 2 appt. so the display 2 days does not work for me? Unless I am missing something in Cal+?
Thanks for the inputs, much appreciated...

Strange, I have no problems, so far....
@obarnes With calender+ you can set it to display the next x (between 1 and 31) days, hours, appointments and so on. Just enter the options and set it to whatever you want.

I have used both WolfClock and StopTime. Both are pretty good and they will do what you want.
StopTime is more barebones, visually simpler and to the point, though less refined. While cruder, it is quite good at what it does. Also has various timer/stopwatch functions.
WolfClock is more visuals (fancy backgrounds etc) and colours. It runs of Compact.net, is therefore a bit slower to boot up the firt time after a soft resent. It also eats up more memory space with all sorts of cute things like a setting where you can tell it to play music for x mins until you go to sleep. Some might call this "bloat". The one thing I will say is that at night you might find the choice of a softer screen color worth the extra memory.
Both have good handy button size for when you need to stop, snooze etc and both are free.

SPB Diary and Weather Problem

I am having a problem with some of the SPB products I recently bought and the Jam. It seems that it is causing a slowdown on my Jam along with the SPB Pocket Plus trial plug in. I noticed that my alarms were not always working and some time this morning, when I pulled my Jam out of it's case, it was really warm and the battery drained about 50%. Also, when I reset the device, the BT icon was missing. After I unchecked the SPB Diary plug-in, everything seems to be working better. When I reset the device, I also noticed the BT icon reappeared. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there no way to have all 3 SPB products running at the same time with the Jam? I have the latest rom upgrade. Are these programs too much for the Jam to handle correctly? Sorry if this a known issue... I checked the posts and could not find this specific issue.
I noticed that SPB Pocket Plus slowed things down on my O2 Mini (also due to 6 other plugins I run on my Today screen) and never used it since. I use PIToday which is the today plugin for PocketInformant and have a few other plugins including SPB Weather. Everything boots up fast ever since I got rid of PocketPlus.
But PocketPlus is popular amongst users but if it is an issue, get rid of it. Very easy to check without uninstalling. Go to Control Panel | Today and uncheck the PocketPlus box. Soft Reset and use your PDA for a few days and see if there is improvement
So, I really do not need to uninstall, but just uncheck the box in the Today screen settings? I really like the interface with spb pp. Do you have a recommendation that will work like Pocket Plus, but not slow down as much? Also, do you think SPB Diary and SPB Weather will work with an alternative PP plug in?
You don't have to uninstall the today plugins until you are sure you want to do so. You can just disable them by unchecking the box in the Today plugin at the Control Panel.
PocketPlus comes with a few nice fixes for the Magician like the notification (WM2003 startup fix), close active apps instead of minimising them and the safe mode but I've found better replacements for them

As for the features like app shortcuts, I use

- not as good looking as the PocketPlus
SPB Diary and Weather are standalone plugins so there shouldn't be any issues running them without PocketPlus. I love SPB Weather because I can put the app on my SD-card. If you remove the SD-card, you can still check the weather on your handheld (just that you will only see text, no graphic icons but it's still fantastic)

Orange SPv M3100 Today screen - customising?

I use the Orange Today screen, as it seems to have all the menus for the scroll wheel. I would really like to add other things to the today screen and have tried to use SPB plus, but it seems that I can either have the Orange today screen or the SPB plus desktop, not both.
What I really want is a customisable scroll wheel menu list and today screen elememnts (weather, battery life etc) all together.
Can someone suggest how I do this or what programmes I should be investing in?
SPB Pocket Plus etc
I also have a SPV 3100 and I got rid of the Orange customisation immediatly and installed SPB pocket Plus, SPB Diary, SPB Weather which is all usable with the scroll wheel. This makes the device much more effective than the Wizard.
I do not know if pocketbreeze works well with the scroll wheel, but prehaps another user can advise.
Wisbar Advance Desktop works for me:

You can add in custom skins - loads kicking around. I'm using vista and zPhone carbon black skins:

Great looking skins....maybe I have to try Wisbar!! always worried at how these affect the phone and whether things are slowed down....
I too love the look of wisbar, but i did find that it slowed down my wizard. I assume it has the same effect on the wizard?

VGA compatible "IContact" like app?

lately, ive tried just about every Icontact edition/app that is available on this forum...some look totally awesome from the screenshots..but I have yet to get one that work and display properly on my athena. I do not use REALvga to change my dpi at all, and I always use my athena in landscape mode. Anyone got a working contact app with smooth finger scrolling for their athena yet? Most of the ones ive tried either have displays that are overlaying other buttons...or the app just starts completely black and graphics begin to glitch.
pocketCM works in any realvga resolution.
Just avoid non vga skin, or install just the .exe file
freeware (donate if you like)
I use Icontact, works fine but I'm in realvga, PocketCM hasn't palyed well since 0.21 on my athena, not certain why.
iContacts has not worked at all on mu x7510. The alpha selection that appears on my TyTN does not appear on my x7510 and contacts themselves do not scroll without theuse of page down and page up i.e. not with finger or stylus gestures. Has anyone had better response than this?
I have tried Icontact with no avail, it just wont display properly in landscape on my advantage. PocketCM works with the standard orange skin, however it seems kinda laggy and some of the overlays like the keypad when it pops up is translucent. I have tried the mmchtc skin, as well as another one, and the black style one works...but I really dont like all the black buttons heh. Since im running a 6.1 rom, ive already got threaded messaging, so no real need for the fancy pocketcm style either.
I've decided to start using Vito FunContact. it loads quickly, and has a great gui....very eye pleasing, and it scrolls pretty decent as well. I am trying to use Vito SMS, however it seems to take F O R E V E R to load...only thing I can think of is vito sms threading actually shows ALL txt history, where the base win mob 6.1 threaded sms app only displays recent txts, then you must click on "older" to display previous messages.

Pocketbreeze & SecondToday

Has anyone installed pocketbreeze and secondtoday?
When I try to use, the lines donĀ“t fit properly in the screen and it gets too slow...but if I use alone, with the TF3D off it works fine.
any ideas on how to make it work right?
Try turning off the auto-adjust height feature in PocketBreeze's settings.
Yes installed on mine.
no problem but had to change Pbreeze default settings to avoid display flickering:
tabs have to be horizontal and not vertical.
Many thanks to you guys! it worked usinh both your solutions
