Is there a way to transfer all of your phone book to the sim card? I see that you can do it one by one, but is there a way to tranfer it all at once.
Thanks
there is a cab file which after you install it, you can select more than one contact at a time, or you can select all the contacts.
i got this from a friend & i'm not sure if it's already posted here before, my apologies if so.

So I just purchased an Imate Jam. On my old phone (Nokia) I copied all my current contacts to my SIM card. Put SIM into Jam and I can't see any of my contacts. Put SIM into Nokia it sees them fine. How can I copy my contacts from my SIM into my Jam?
Thanks.
saldous,
there is a program called Sim Manager in the Program Files Directory.
Once loaded, it will show the contacts available. click on Edit--> Select All
Hold the stylus on one of the contacts selected and click -> Save To Contacts.
Hope this will solve your problem
Regards,
Eman
Just out of interest, does the xda use the memory on the simm for contacts, i.e. does it save to simm so when you take your simm to another phone, you take all your contacts? (no I haven't searched this question, it's spur of the moment stuff)!
Thanks, worked great.
I don't think it saves new ones to the SIM.
No, the magician is only capable of importing SIM data to its internal contacts database. The memory on today's SIM cards wouldn't be enough to hold all this information on them. I think that modern phones also don't use the SIM card to store all the extended contact informations they provide, like email addresses etc. I guess they only store one main phone number into the SIM, the rest into the phone's memory. I would prefer this solution for the Magician though, because it would at least keep the most important numbers on the SIM. Maybe this is also a speed issue (the SIM manager is quite slow).
Does anyone know how to erase contacts from the sim card once the transfer to the PDA memory is done?
What about using the delete function in the Sim manager
Does anyone know of an easy way to copy ALL Contacts on the Wiz (8125 Moloski ROM) to my SIM? I've tried a bunch of different utils with no success, followed quite a few peoples previous posts with no luck either.
If anyone knows of a good program or utility that does this easily I would really appreciate. Preferably something free.
Thanks,

Hmmm, copy all contacts to sim card? Are you sure you want to? In the phone your contacts have all the information you can have in outlook. On the sim card you are limited to name and number. So for example if you have a contact with 3 phone numbers, birthday, and email address copied to the sim card you would lose everything but the phone numbers and have 3 entries for that contact, 1 for each number.
Oh I definitely want to. I will still have all my contacts saved in outlook (with all the extended info), but I do want a copy on the sim card to put in my CU500 for use on nights & weekends type of thing.
Anyone? This is really killing me here :-/
im using a 8125, and trying to save all the contacts within my phone memory (or on my computer in outlook) to my sim card so when i switch to using my NON-PPC phone all my contacts will be there.
i cant even find a way to copy one-by-one let alone the entire address book.
ANYONE have the answer to this ?
i kno i kno, the sim only holds a name with 1 number thats all i want and need.
PLEASE HELP...
Can someone answer this
I did a search because I now want to do this and this was the only useful post....too bad no one responded! THANKS!
Hmmm... don't switch.
I'm new to all of this technical stuff, so please bear with me. I've read the Wikis and searched the forums, but can't find an answer to a simple question. Maybe it's too simple. I purchased a Cingular/ATT 8525 about 6 weeks ago. Since that time I've upgraded the rom and applied some of the tweaks I've found in here. No problems. However, I can't get active sync 4.5 to let me move programs and data from my PC to my 8525. I read somewhere that a few devices won't let you do that. Is the 8525 one of them. I'm sure this can be fixed, but how? Right now I've resorted to emailing myself with whatever I want moved over as an attachment, checking the email with the 8525, and saving the attachment to my storage card. Help, Please.
Right-click on the ActiveSync icon in the system tray, select connection settings and make sure that the Allow USB connections check box is checked.
Just need a little more info. Are you using the explore function of Active Sync on the PC to drag and drop the files?
Mike
Thanks for the quick replies. The "allow usb connections" box is checked, and everything sync's fine. And, yes, I'm using the explore function of active sync.
Mmm.. do you get any error message?
Are they very large files?
Are you waiting long enough for the copy - can take a while?
It's quicker anyway to pop the card into a PC card reader to do the copy across.
It is certainly possible to do this - I do it regularly.
I don't get any error messages because I never get that far. I'll right click / copy on my PC file, go to the 8525 folder, right click and PASTE is greyed out. won't even let me try to paste. If I try to left click the file and drag, when I get to the 8525 the circle with the line thru it shows up and won't let me drop. I've tried files from 25kb to as large as 15Mb. As far as moving the MicroSD card over to the PC, That was the first thing I tried. For some reason the HP Pavilion laptop I have doesn't want to reconize the SD card. Explorer shows the card in the slot, but the lights keep flashing like its trying to read it or format it or something and nothing ever happens. It's a ScanDisk 2gig micro that I have to stick in an adaptor for the PC. It works fine in the 8525, I've installed some programs on it, saved several email attachments and pictures on it also.
At the moment there are only two more things I can think of and they are to ensure that
Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC (ensure Advanced option is UNChecked)
and what about your firewall?

1. Has anyone noticed a really long delay when adding a contact to the sim card? Infact i think you have to soft reset for it to show!
2. How do you copy a contact made in the phone memory to the sim card?
3. Contacts can be selected in 'contacts' to show: all, sim or phone but in text messaging you don't have that option, all contacts are shown, is there a way round that?
Real basic stuff that seems to have been overlooked???

lol... get with the times mate... using a SIM card to store your contacts is OOOOOLLLLLDD skool. Most people use some sort of synchronisation nowadays to store their PIM data. Especially if you have a windows mobile device.
In answer to your questions:
1. Not noticed this myself... i actually copied all of my contacts (190 odd in one hit) from phone contacts to SIM and it took about 3 seconds. They showed up immediately.
2. Open the contact under "all people"... click on menu->save contact to sim
3. Only way round that i can think of would be to maybe use groups? Create two groups... one called "SIM" and the other "PHONE"... assign contacts to each group accordingly. I do agree that you shouldnt have to do this though, which is why i have deleted my contacts from the SIM card again. (I was only testing the function out anyway)

You could try using the Microsoft My Phone app that comes pre-installed on the HD2... that will sync your contacts, texts, pictures etc with your online Live ID.
