I have looked high and low. I cannot find a setting anywhere that will change the time from military time to 12 hour time? Anyone know what i am missing?
Thanks.
Settings > System *tab* > Regional Settings > Time *tab*
Look at the options under "Time style"
when I change the settings under the time tab, nothing changes. Calendar still has 24 hour time. I am truly stumped. Any other suggestions?
Settings > System > Regional Settings > Time
Go to Time Style : Select h:mm:ss tt
the suggestions so far do not work. I have changed the setting followed with a soft-reset with no luck. My time seems to only change from 24 hour to 24 hour.

You can try to change to a different regional setting in the region tab.
Some regions use HH:mm:ss or H:mm:ss which is for 24 hour system
Some reigions use hh:mm:ss tt or h:mm:ss tt which is for 12 hour plus "am" and "pm".
I have also been unable to change the time settings. I learned to live with it..
just to be clear are you both sure you've scrolled up in the time selection field. You have to scroll to the very top. It starts out about 2 down from the top and the format looks very similar. it all needs to be lower case.
If you've done this then I understand your resignation.
Also a thought, what region are you selecting?

Haha. I told a 16 year old what problems I have been having with the time for the last week and he fixed it in about 3 seconds. I simply didnt realize there was a scroll bar on the side. I hadnt scrolled all the way up. I am a goof.
Thanks for all the help.
Mike
Hehe, good call on that mtarro! Glad it's sorted now :lol:
Use Resco Registry editor or other program to Edit Registry: 8)

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides
create string value:
"STFmt" for h:mm tM
"S1159" for AM
"S2359" for Pm
Then soft reset,

If i am been remembered of a task, a window appears. I can delay this window by pressing the right button and can adjust: 5 min, 15 min, 1h or 1 day. Can i edit these settings, maybe in the registry?

Yeah, I miss the 2h and 8h option too, it was there in 2003SE. I don't know if we can change this, though...
Some kind of problem her, and more ;
Don't you all hate the itsybitsy tiny buttons on the reminder ?
It's hard to select "snooze" while driving your care, and even worse to set the "snooze time" to 10 or 15 minutes.
a 5 Min. snooze is rather useless te me if i'm driving....
So i'd option for a total replacement

Vijay555 made something for this for WM2003SE. Search in the forums or on his homepage.
Hidestart, yes i know.. but it doesnt work, at least not on my Himalaya
Hidestart isn't on my webpage, it was a research beta that I stopped developing because there is an issue.

Don't you hate it on WM2003 when you've got 5 reminders pop up, but no time to deal with them all immediately, eg press snooze 5 times etc? However, the reminders block all access to any other program.
So HideStart had a feature to let you move reminders, not snooze them etc, and bring them back when you can deal with them ("ghosting"). Hidestart also remodelled reminders to be easier to use with your thumb (FYI code turned into VJBigPhone). However, reminders have a "feature" where they will always steal the focus to remind you that you have reminders, even if they're hidden.
Anyway, I'll explain further later, but just again, FYI, VJOkButt now features a super duper version of reminder ghosting. I'll report soon, I'm playing with the beta now.
I don't know how we can reformat reminders on WM5. On VJSihaya I intend to do this in a nice way, but on the standard OS it's difficult to represent the info in a nice way. Although, I have an idea - perhaps we can monitor when a reminder balloon comes up and show enhanced, enlarged soft keys. That code will grow out of VJToggleToday... eventually

I tried using Total Commander and TRE.
I go to HKLM\Control Panel\GPS Settings
In there, there is a Redirect.
I have tried deleting it, making a DWORD Group and setting it to 2. Soft-Reset. Still doesn't show up in Control Panel.
I have tried deleting it, making a DWORD Hide and setting it to 0, then making a DWORD Group and setting it to 2. Soft-Reset. Does not work.
Anyone with a Cingular 8125 successfully able to make the GPS settings show up? Am I doing something wrong?

try to wait 15 secs before resetting, it takes time to update the registry. First suspend the device, count to 20 and then soft-reset
It worked on my K-Jam, but it shows up in my Connections folder, not Control Panel. Good Luck.

is this to mean that cingular 8125 has gps?
nope, it doesn't have GPS. If you couple it with a GPS device, you can change some basic settings with it - but more than likely your GPS device will come with software that allows you to change them anyway.
Have you also tried to delete the "redirect" key in the registry ?
I can confirm this works on 8125. Tried it this morning.
What were your exact steps please?
worked on my 8125 and k-jam.
i just tried it now and i have the gps settings in connections tab.
with all the options.
Wish I had a photo, but I remember seeing some Today screens that inidicated the number of voicemails, e-mails and SMS messages on the very top of the screen where signal strength, the clock, volume, etc indicators are. Can someone tell me what app(s) do this?
Well, there's Phone Alarm. But that is on your Today screen, not up on the top bar. But you can put it up next to it, like this...
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I feel as if I've seen it in the area above where you've placed PhoneAlarm. Does Wisbar do what I'm looking for?
It's not this one is it?
V
^^^ It is! ^^^
What is it?
dunno but the website tat pic came from was:
http://www.vijay555.com
The screenshot shows a couple of plugins I wrote, and some other tricks.
Ok, basically, I used my app called VJToggleToday to minimise the StartBar and Bottom bar down to maximise screen space.
Then, I used a custom PhoneAlarm skin I wrote. Using VJToggleToday, that can now "replace" the standard OS Start Bar.
It's all explained here, and the skins etc are available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27331&highlight=vjtoggletoday
VJToggleToday is being re-written for WM5 - go to the end of that thread for the current alpha release.
I haven't converted the PA skin to the WM5 version yet. I'm in the process of doing it now.
V
Thanks! I look into this; however, the links to your alpha release of VJToggleToday don't seem to work.
Try this one:
http://www.vijay555.com/vj/releases/vjtoggletodayii/vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe
V
Thanks! Hopefully your full release will offer the option to keep the lower menu bar.
makisupa: use the configuration screen (or edit the registry directly), and just set the softkeys to 26 pixels as default. Then the softkeys will stay, but you can hide the start bar (top bar) as you wish.
In the current alpha release, both bars can be sized to whatever size <=26 pixels you want.
Access the config by launching it with the command line -config

Where is this located in the Registry?
HKLM > Software > Vijay555 > VJTodayToggle
But as I said, you don't need to use the registry, you can use -config

I found browsing on the Internet a little program here is very interesting
Description: mToday is an application for you to switch between two today screen profiles to enable/disable pre-defined today plug-ins quickly and conveniently.

nice catch bro, i like it
thanks
great find, thanks.
hmm, interesting, thanks.
Nice idea, but very very slow.
good but keep improving
This is a good idea but as mentioned slow, so keep improving.
If you want a quick second today, take the battery status today. Then you have two today screens. But this kill one today and go to the other today. This good to save memory. For me its good. In one I have all my things. And if I want IGO8 I take the other.
NEO130,
Could you please elaborate what is the "battery status today" that you use for mToday with minimal memory?
I try to do the same: one mToday profile with the applications I commonly use and the other mToday profile for iGO8. The profile with commonly used applications works OK but when the link of the empty profile for iGO8 is invoked it stuck my HTC Trinity such that it needs a hard reset. The succeeding boot yields the empty Today.
Not a convenient way to switch profiles, though...
Thank you,
Shkauf
Hi.
I posted this over at MobiSapienz but it may be easier to chat over here?
So I read:
"Added command line option to launch settings (-p0)"
When I do:
Run(SystemPath( "ProgramFiles" ) \ "Vicsoft\MToday\mToda y.exe","-p1")
It pops up the mToday Switcher and leaves it there.
Am I not doing the command line argument correctly. I did try "-1" but as I suspected that also popped up the switcher.
I am also assuming -p0 refers to mToday 1, and -p1 would refer to mToday 2.
I kind of wish there were a reg setting for "Current mToday Profile" for last switched profile.
Thanks...
(Integrating StatusTicker with mToday)
thank you lepsyfou
thats very helpful

Use the Advanced Configuration tool (do a Google search to find it), Menu, More settings, Touchflo 3D, and change accordingly.
Ensure that you use version 3.3, as otherwise you will lose the Stocks tab (this answers an earlier question I posed, but got no response to).

so before i use act to force this change, maybe i better wait to know if that's a bug or not. don't want the stocks to be rmeoved.
Thread is here

this is the result... the date text goes on the 'alarm off' text. that's why i had to hide it somehow..

The Advanced Config Tool doesn't always work in this case, at least it didn't for me, I had to use the 'Diamond TF3d config' tool
