I'm currently using Dopod 900 (Hong Kong version). Everytime I open an application in which I could type words, it opens the 注音 method, and I need to tap the "英" icon to change it to English keyboard. The machine cannot remember the setting we've made and I need to go through all these tapping when I start the application next time.
Is there any way to set English as default input method? I think the English keyboard in Dopod 900 (Chinese ROM) is just part of the Chinese input methods "Changjie" and "Taiwan Phonetic" and hence it is included in changjeiim.dll or phonim.dll. Just wondering whether we can find any .dll file in the English version of HTC Universal and add it as a separate English input method - just the simple English keyboard.

I have a fantastic O2 EXEC and I have istalled a JasJar Italian rom. At now all ok but I have some problem with some symbols: for example the slash / in original rom (and in my keyboard) is FN + o but in Italian jasjar rom is FN + 7. This is only 1 of many different position of symbols. Can you help me??

I assume you have the english qwerty style keyboard. Try this: you need a registry editor - HKey_Local_Machine\Software\OEM\Qwerty\ put in 66569 instead of whatever is there.
If this doesn't work for you then someone will have the number you need. I know the German qwertz kbd is 66567.

Can someone please kindly guide me to change the keyboard mapping from english to chinese ? I tried to use the RegistryWizard for Wizard however there are no option for changing the hardware keyboard to Chinese version.

Read this thread. It's for using the English ROM on a Japanese Hermes device and it shows you how to change the keyboard layout to use the Japanese keyboard. Japanese is 0x0411 but you need to use 0x0404 for Chinese.
Don't forget to soft reset the device after making the changes to the registry to have those changes into effect.

Then I change the Registry for QWERTY Keyboard Layout
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\QWERTY=20404 (Traditional Chinese
Settings)
All the Letter, Numeric and Symbol Keys are now normally & perfectly working except for the TAB Key.
By the way my Sliding Keyboard is
QWERTY Key Setup
Symbols starts with [email protected]/#1

I have the same problem. I'm using the latest TNT ROM. It worked on the last TNT ROM for me. I tried Schap's config. tool, but no change. It didn't work on my original English ROM either (Singapore Dopod 838PRO ROM) ANy one have any other ideas?

I looked at the xt9 dictionaries available and Turkish is not there.
I google'd some but I couldn't find any XT9 Turkish dictionary for PROPHET,
There are eT9 (for VOX) and T9 (for old phone pad) but no XT9.
Is there a way to convert old T9 into XT9 dictionary, or a way to use old T9 as XT9.

Actualy I'm looking for a thumb keyboard with turkish auto completion.
And also I would like to be able to edit T9 file to remove Turkish characters with GSM alphabet..
Is there a T9 and / or XT9 editor on the market.

InterKeyPPC Pro v2.0 b723.3347 has turkish auto completion. But not via thumb
That is what I was trying to say,
If we would have a t9 editor and/or XT9 editor we would create our TR XT9 or TR T9 dictionary files ...

what rom you use? because the lasted wm6 roms have this just go to; settings/system/regional setting and just chose your language. I use the last multilanguage coffie rom from gullum and i have check now that turkys language is there

2-to go to Settings/Personal/Input and select language.
I haven't flashed a WM6 ROM. I'm using my prophet with its original ROM.
It isvery stable and easy to use for me. I don't like taking risk of bricking my device its my rigth hand.
By the way I'm lookign for a t9 and/or xt9 editor to be able to create my own T9 or XT9.

this phone pad have turkys language and T9 i hope you like.
1-install the cab
2-to go to Settings/Personal/Input
3 input metod / phone pad
4- opcion
5- select turkys
My ROM
includes this by default. And I'm using this SIP already.
But this T9 includes Turkish characters those cause reduction in max number of a sms to be 70 instead of 160.
I would like to be able to edit t9 to replace İ with I, ı with i and etc.
I need to edit t9 dict.
