is 850 mhz band possible? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

does anyone know, or has anyone tried, to enable the wallaby for use on 850 band? yes, it's because of cingular.
could this be accomplished with a different radio stack (even from another device)?

The band that a phone works on is limitted by its hardware, not its firmware. IF the phone you have doesn't currently work on 850mhz, then there will be no way to get it to work.

GSM Band and WM2003

Hi,
Is there a tool similaire ton GSM Band switch working for WM2003?
I need to change the GSM freqeuncy to 1900 since i need to go in Canada with an European XDA 900/1800.
I know i can do it from the bootloader, but each time i change it i get a full reset of my device, not so great
The bandswitch tool will not make your phone a tri-band phone, it will be 100mhz off frequency when on 1900, but heres the link anyway.

hp iPAQ 910c/912c/914c Radio ROM Modification

The physical hardware between these three models of phones are the same, yet they have slightly different radio ROM configurations set through firmware. My issue is that the 910c I am using has UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz capabilities and I would like to use it on T-Mobile's 3G network which uses the UMTS 2100/1700 MHz. Has anyone tried to modify the frequency multiplier to substitute either the 850 or 1900 MHz for the 1700 MHz for use with T-Mobile?
Any solution yet?
I would like to be able to use 3G also with T-Mobile and have been looking endlessly, have you found a solution yet?
Don't expect such a solution - I've never heard of a successful radio ROM mod; all radio ROMs are issued by the OEM / manufacturer.
Have a look at the Qualcomm MSM6280 chipset datasheet - it seems the frequencies are probably hardcoded.
but how's talking about some qualcomm? HP has intel inside

[Q] Is there a way to REALLY enable UMTS/HSDPA in 1900 MHz on a T-Mobile USA HD2?

I've tried almost everythig to allow my T-Moblie HTC HD2 to connect to a UMTS/HSDPA in 1900 Mhz but it seems I can just connect to EDGE.
The HTC is an US T-Mobile, but I am living now in Colombia, I am using also a Nokia N95 and it connects perfectly to UMTS here.
Is there any way? Is there a radio that allows this?
BTW: I paid full price for the mobile, so it is not locked.
HELP!
no, there isn't.
the n95 supports 1900 umts, thats why it worked and the tmous doesn't.

The strangest problem of all

Back in december 2010, my i9000 worked just fine on froyo, with an provider that operates on 850 mhz for GSM and 2100 mhz for 3G. My work made me move to another provider which operates in 1800 mhz for GSM and 850 mhz for 3G. Also, my phone was great. Gingerbread came and, as everyone else, I made my update (and of course changed the bootloaders). The problem: I'm back to my old provider again (850/2100 mhz) and, as strange as it may seem, my phone can't connect to the gsm frequency (850) anymore! The 3G works with no problem. I've tested lots of modems, configurations, I have even returned to froyo, with no positive response. It seems like my phone has never had the gsm 850 mhz option. What has happened? Is it possible that my GSM frequencies have changed (by software?) Does the bootloader have anything to do with this? I'm just as confused as I can be! And I need my phone to work! Help me please!
Edit: DID IT!!!! I don´t know what was currupted, but I did a full format : SD,Sys,Data,Cache and after that I made a new ECLAIR (JM9) install and.... voillà....2G 850Mhz working again! Txs for the attention!

LG Optimus 7 E900 Unlock 850 Mhz Band?

Hey all,
I just realized the E900 and E900h have the same modem. The problem with the E900 is that the 850Mhz band is locked. Is there any way to unlock the 850 mhz band? I need it for better reception with ATT.
On the e900 in the MFG menu I have the option to select both cmda and gsm 850mhz band.
I did load the att apn and developer unlock my phone, but I never looked for that band before so you might not need to do those things.
I just developer unlocked my phone. However the 850 Mhz WCDMA band is still locked. Can you receive WCDMA 850?
I'm wondering if one can flash an lg e900 with an e900h rom. By doing this, will this enable the 850Mhz band?
Thanks
Can I flash an E900H rom onto an E900?
I don't know about flashing the e900 rom, I have the stock vodophone rom updated to mango.
and I have 850, 1900 and 2100 bands displayed in my engineering menu > modem options > band selections. Not sure what to tell you.
@Etaduck
Yes I have the 850mhz WCDMA option in MFG. However it is not picking up an actual 850 WCDMA signal. Is your phone picking up 850 for 3g?
I select 850 wcdma restart and get 3g / h depending on where I'm located, but I usually just leave it on wmda automatic
I'm not sure if there is any other way to test what band I'm using, but I'm assuming that selecting it from the MFG menu would be using the 850 band.
can you tell me the exact configuration of your phone? Did you use MFG or Network setup? I desperately need the band as 3g in my area is 850.
AFAIK mobile devices need different communication hardware to physically access some frequencies.
Whilst there may be a software switch to activate access to a frequency.. that does not mean that the unit will contain the hardware to do so.
If I am wrong on this I would appreciate advice.
EDIT: More on this topic and an aswer similar to above here...

E900 and E900h have different hardware conf, most likely different flash ic so its not recomended to cross flash it.
