The first one, I was aware of is the T-Mobile MDA Pro (HTC Universal) which is also Bluetooth stereo enabled after the latest ROM update from last week."
Has anyone upgraded to the latest mda pro rom and tested A2DP?

These feature packs have not been released for the MDA Pro/Xda Exec yet.
But I have tried it, and it does work.... but it sucks horespower from your pda and makes it run a real pig. On the Prodigy (Mini S) it's even more demanding....

just looked at the specifications for the xda atom,
wm 5.0
bluetooth 1, 2 compliant
including A2DP & AVRCP????
how did they do that????????? :?:

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure someone will), but isn't that hardware compatibility?
I think they still need to have the WM5 AKU2 updated ROM for the software side just like the rest of us.
FYI: I've been informed by iMate Tech Support that AKU2 for K-Jam is in
the last phase of testing

(as at 18th Jan 2006).
i thought the delay was compatability with wm5
cause 2003 se users can download an upgrade for a2dp
i've done it for my wifes s110.
Yeah if you have an XDA 2i you can install the Broadcomm stack update to get A2DP.
This doesn't work on phones that use Microsoft stack though (this applies to the Wizard)

That's what I was trying to get across yes . The specs for the O2 Atom referred to in the OP indicate the hardware compatibility with Bluetooth A2DP, but the Microsoft stack pre AKU2 lacks software compatibility.
Sorry if I wasn't clear - my caffeine levels need adjustment.
and i suppose the broadcomm stack can't go on the wizard

and info from MSMobile :
upon installation users get not only MSFP (AKU2) with push email, but also Pocket MSN (including MSN Messenger). Push email is therefore available for MDA Compact II (HTC Charmer), MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) and MDA Pro (HTC Universal). Unfortunately no upgrades with push email for MS Smartphone devices from T-Mobile UK yet and it looks like stereo audio over Bluetooth (A2DP) is not included too...

Have you tried this ROM... :?:
I have not tried this ROM and TBH dont think I will!
Altho I receive a fair few emails, I'd rather let my device check half hourly and have A2DP then have AKU2 and no stereo bluetooth!
im using this new rom, and i think the battery life is a bit less tbh. Its only been one day so i will report back.
The old MDA pro ROM did not have A2DP either.
I notice this ROM has a higher radio ROM version (1.10.03 vs 1.09.00 for the Qtek ROM with A2DP). Maybe that would be a worthwhile upgrade.
Do those A2DP files which were floating around work on the MDA Pro?

It certainly did! The rom shipped with my pro didn't but after downloding the previous rom to the one currently on the download site, A2DP works fine.
I'm running the old T Mobile ROM which has the A2DP capability, have a set of Samsung BT Earphones, I'd like to go to another non gay looking ROM but unfortunately I like the stereo sound and capabilities (my G/F's Jasjar ROM doesnt support the A2DP fully) and I need Blackberry, the only combination I have found so far is the TMob old version.
Just thought I should drop a post in regarding this...
I recently got an o2 exec that was running an orange rom, as I'm on t-mobile and there was a new rom out, this one, figured I'd give it a shot.
Today I picked up a pair of HP bluetooth headphones, expecting after reading this to be changing the rom to get them to work.
However, on pairing them, they showed a stereo service, and on listening the controls are working fine with media player (skip \ pause \ volume etc).
I assume this means it *does* have A2DP and AVRCP...
Where have I been lately?
Well I have just upgrade my ROM and I have to say that i am quite happy as Messenger has re-appeared and it seems to be operating a touch faster than before.
The hotmail auto download looks quite handy but could run up a surprise data bill if not watched carefully.
Co-Pilot seems to run a little faster too which is a bonus.
The Running Programs on the HOT key is most useful.
I used to experience issues connecting via USB to my lappy but everything is fine now.
Early days but so far I'd rate it a 9/10
msn messenger seems so iffy, im lucky if it actually works once a week!
Normally have to use agile which is a pain as it signs out after no activity after a while...

Bit confusing this...I have spoken to T-Mobile technical and they are checking;
The ROM mentioned is dated on the site as 19/06/06, but the installed date from Device Information says 04/13/06 (13/04/06 for us brits ), which is also the current release ROM on T-Mobile units and the previous ROM Release on the site (from what i can gather).
So, is it an upgrade? or a re-release?
Check this from Universal Upgrading forum;

If HTC are launching a stereo BT headest in August 2006, an official A2DP BT patch or a revised BT stack will definitely go with it ... don't you think?
HTC BT Stereo Headset details: http://europe.htc.com/products/accessories.php
Of course not. They would prefer you buy a new device with A2DP. The headset is just a loss leader.
Surur
Yes, and that same device that they would want you to buy happens to have a TI OMAP processor (not really relevant) and is running on WM5 ... i.e something that would work for us too.
DonĀ“t be misled, for HTC A2DP patch is not an issue, since they released the AKU 2.0 with A2DP to all ODMs (Dopod, Qtek, etc.). It was for each ODM to decide for themselves if they wanted to include A2DP or not. Since the ODMs thought A2DP was not working, they did not include it. This forum proved them wrong.... But I agree that since then at least Dopod and the like could have come up with an official A2DP patch, for "the rest of us...".

Anyone know why the Cingular 8525 doesn't currently support the Nokia BH800 bluetooth headset, and when there may be a software update that will fix this?
Is this a problem with all versions of this phone, or just the Cingular one?
i also have the Nokia BH800 (cute headset) and it doesnt wrk properly with my jasjam. The mic is really low, sound is really low, doesnt support handsfree profile (only headset). It is quite strange because on my wife's nokia n73 it works like a charm with all the profiles and redirects all sound to it, even with tomtom nav 6 on her mobile.
Dont know how to help you as I am in the same boat. anyone else have the BH800?
I have the BH800- works absolutely fine with my TyTn using the latest firmware (on the Tytn, not the headset!).
Do we know that the Cingular 8525 will not work with the BH-800 by experience or by heresay??
I had the TyTn for a brief period of time, trialed the JasJam, and now have the 8525 -- thus far the 8525 has proved to have the most stable firmware, better radio, etc. so I can't imagine the Bluetooth being behind.
I just received my 8525 from premiere and it came with a small flyer that reads
The Nokia BH800 and Motorola H670 bluetooth headsets are not compatible with the Cingular 8525 and Cingular 8500 at this time. Compatibility with these headsets will be available via software download in the near future.
help!!
I see that im not the only one having problem with the Nokia BH800, im happly using the Black v3.0.1 rom on my hermes (softbank) but i cant seems to make the BH800 to work handsfree, did any one have a solution for that??
thanks

Can anyone point me to a method of pairing an Orbit (with Official O2 WM6 Upgrade) with a Mercedes Benz Bluetooth (SAP) car kit. Please? I have tried copying the BT SAP Test cab and run it successfully which appears to give rSAP (Sim Settings) but I cannot pair the device.
I can find the device, I can dial the long pairing code but I get no request to enter it on the Orbit. The car kit seems to then time out.
(I have had the same problem with a Graphite, a qtek9100... etc.)
Best answer might be to dump the car kit but I live in hope!
now this is the right place
Thanks!
Now that I have the correct thread - I don't suppose you have an answer
is there no place to set the SAP to authorised? in settings. I have installed A new rom
the Artimis touch rom and it has the SimSAP options in it
The problem is,
the old bt "mouse" of the MB cars was incompatible with the HTC telephones. We tried with several models and software revision but to no avail (Hermes, Wizard, Prophet and Artemis, WM5 and WM6).
The new "mouse" (now smaller and less looking like a telephone) works now w/o problems. This seems to be a MB bug and no HTC bug...
I hope I helped you
