Bluetooth headset and navi software - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Dear All,
I'm pretty new to this forum and to the Wizard as well.
I'm using Navigon Navigator 5.2 on my T-Mobile Vario which works quite well. I do have one issue, well more an incovenience, while using the headset.
When Navigon is active and I accept a call with my bluetooth headset all system sounds, including Paula2 the nice navi lady, is muted. The phone call itself is diverted to the headset.
That make sense as I don't want to have Paula2 on my headset but I would like to have her on the speaker.
Is there any way to have phone calls served by the headset and system sounds, including program sounds, played on the speaker?
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Thorsten

Bluetooth Headset

I have a bluetooth headset working fine for calls, however have 2 questions. Has anyone gotten the headset working for things other than calls, such as media player? Also I have a problem with answering the phone with bluetooth turned off, if I turn it on while on the call and give it a minute to sync with headset and then try to transfer the call to the headset it won't work. But if I hang up and call right back the bluetooth will work.
I have the same problem but regrettably no answer: ( :? :? :?
bleuthooth headset
hello i have the bt g2 it s only 12 gramms and its works fine with my mda 2
You can listen media player with your headset ????
Without specific manipulation??? Not possible

Hi every1!
Actually, until someone (HTC, Micro$oft, or anyone else) comes out with a new Bluetooth stack that support the full Handsfree profile, (something any BT equipped mobile phone already does) there is NO other use of headphones.
Even the more simple functions are not implemented.
I think this is the worst part of the Himalayas right now. A wonderfull piece of hardware, but very poor phone functions.... to say the least.
BT6023
This is the BT Handsfree that Im using now. So far so good. No connection failure.
Handsfree?
Hi nelsonlye!
Sorry to say, but, This is not a headset?
Could you be more specific on the brand and model and the "handsfree" functions it supports?
Does it allow Voice Dial or any other voice input?
It looks like a conventional headset, so if no other functions are implemented, it IS a headset, NOT a handsfree device.
Furthermore, until HTC or Microsoft release a new Bluetooth stack, looks like no new functions will be available. And it seems it will take forever!
Regards.

Best setup for using both a carkit and GPS Nvigation?!

I am soon to buy the Magician in one of it's many forms. However noe thing i have been woundering is how am i am going to achieve the in-car setup i desire. Basically I need both a carkit (conversation through car stereo speakers etc) and i also want to run GPS navigation on the Magician. First of all is this possible? What happens if i am using the GPS and i recieve a call? Also what hardware are people using to achieve this as i assume i can't use both a bluetooth carkit and a bluetooth GPS reciever?! any hlp is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom,
I've got an iMate Jam & recently installed a Parrot BTluetooth CK3300 GPS Car Kit into my 1999 RAV4. The installation was pretty straight forward for cars with ISO connection, simply put in the mic, GPS ant & control display, plug into the car harness & HiFi & off you go. The GPS part of the kit is simply & effective, I use Tom Tom Navigator 5 & it's pretty faultless, obtaining a fix in seconds. Here's the bad part, the call quality through the kit using the Jam is AWFUL. Making and receiving calls is accompanied by a loud, high pitched warbling sound which eventually subsides, but is replaced by so much interference that the call is unworkable. I know it's not the kit because my wife's SE T68i works flawlessly. Everything else about the setup works perfectly (pairing muting, upgrading via BT etc etc). This a MAJOR problem which I have sent on to Parrot & am waiting for a reply. I understand they are pretty good at customer enquiries and expect them to come back to me pretty soon. I'll post again when I hear something. Despite all the bad press the Jam gets I think it's the best one I've owned so far (I'm on my 5th) and with the right software is excellent, but the choice of car kit is essential, until these problems are ironed out I wouldn't recommend using the PDA with a BT carkit.
Apart from the poor audio, how does it work when you are being navigated by TomTom and you receive a call? Does TomTom stop talking to you? Does the display show who's calling and then go back to tomtom display etc?
Hi there,
I have a MDA compact with now the QTEK 1.12 ROM, I have a bluetooth GPS Fortuna Clip-on and a Mr Handsfree Genius Bluetooth Carkit and I love it.
As soon as I start my car, there is a bluetooth connection to the carkit and the sound quality is excellent. You can make a call without getting the MDA out of your pocket, just push the button. The only issue is voice dialing, but that is a common problem for the MDA.
Also it makes a bluetooth connection to the GPS and Tomtom works fine. The only minus is that Tomtom doesn't use the carkit speaker, but, since the speaker of the MDA is loud enough, that is no issue. There is no supply with this bluetooth carkit, so I bought a 12 --> 5 Volt converter for the MDA.
I really love this combination. The best thing, that happened to me.

so it is possible then to have two bluetooth connections running at the same time? ie. i can use a bluetooth GPS reciever such as the one that is supplied with tom tom and also use any bluetooth carkit at the same time? and this will not cause any problems even if i am making a call and have the GPS running?! If so then i will probably just buy the Tom Tom 5 bluetooth kit and get something like a parrot CK3000? would this setup work?
thanks for everyones help,
Tom
It should work. Mine does. See above. Bluetooth GPS uses a serial profile, bluetooth headset uses a headset profile. No problem to use them both at the same time.
Andre
I used my Jam as phone, mp3 player and GPS all at the same time.
1. MP3 thru my car's aux input
2. GPS thru aux input:
hardware: Tomtom BT receiver
Software: Routis 2, TomTom USA 2004 (can open both if U use GPSGate)
3. Phone thru BT headset or aux input
To answer yr question:
Since I can use both BT GPS and BT headset together. I don't think it's a problem for both BT carkit and BT GPS to works.
Phone call always get highest prioity, all other apps (GPS software, mp3 player) will be mute until U finished yr call.
Phone call is not a problem (see above) but dialing is a big trouble since no voice calling built-in. Third partner software like intellidialer and voice commander (from MS or Cyberon) helps a bit
Ive also got my jam working fine incar. I use a socket bluetooth gps unit http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119717 with tomtom 5 then I have a SE HBH-600 Akono Bluetooth Headset for calls both work together! When I have a incoming call it mutes tomtom and displays the normal caller id app on top, answering the call (via the green hardware button) results in my jam going to the phone app totally and leaving tomtom minimized in the background. As soon as the call ends tomtom jumps back to the foreground, it all works very well in my opinion. Ive also assigned the camera button to switch me back to the today screen so I can launch any app (with tomtom still running in the background) via a icon.

No Ring Tone when Using A2DP - Bug or By Design?

Greetings,
I'm using a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 stereo Bluetooth headset with my TyTN and so far I have only one gripe - when the headset is connected, the ring tone somes through the handset only, not the phone itself, which means that I'll miss any incoming calls if I don't have the earbuds inserted.
Also, the ring tone sometimes does not start until about 20 seconds after the display has started to announce the incoming call.
I tend to have the earbuds hanging from my neck if I'm not listening to music, and the ring tone is not loud enough to be heard that way.
I suspect this may be by design, because it's assumed that a stereo Bluetooth headset is always in/on the ears when connected to the phone, but I want to use the 970 as my only headset even when I'm not about to listen to music.
Is there any way to get a ring tone from both headset and phone?
/POL
?
Anyone figure this one out yet? I have the same problem...
same here, anyone find a solution please post, I think I can change it from the registry I will check it.
Can I ask you folks a question relating to the use of the headset Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 with the HTC Hermes...do you get all the functionality ie caller ID, the ability to accept and reject the call, compatible with mediaplayer etc.
I have a concern that with the headset not being a HTC product, perhaps some of the Sony functionality may not work with the handset.
Thx
From my experience the ringtones will not come to the speaker if you use the headset as wireless stereo. I only use the headset as handsfree, which makes the ringtones go through the phone.
I used the DS970 for two week with my O2 Trion, feature like Caller Display is No any problem,But when using media player sometime it may out of control, like cann't accept call and control volume or stop.
And the sound quality is acceptable, but it will stop few second after 1 or minutes, I have change the regedit.
May I know is there any way to fix it?
Still no solution?
Anyone come up with a solution to this problem? It really bugs me not to get a ringtone from the unit itself, just thru headset... Works just fine with my old mono handsfree, would be great to have it in the stereo heaseat to...
i have the same problem
hello i have the same problem
the ring sound is only on my headset i have tested with 1.13.097fr and now 1.13.234fr if anybody have the ring on the phone with a headset stereo a2dp cang give us is configuration rom and other soft for the bluetooth.
thank and sorry for my english
juste a little frenchy
There seams as if there's no solution in sight, I got the exact same problem, also with HBH-DS970 and with Jetware Mobile's "Hands-free extension" installed.
I'm still running WM5, anyone who have tried WM6?
/Fluff
Same "design feature" here with my HBH-DS970 and HTC S710 WM6 Smartphone, so it's not ROM, device or OS version specific. I would suggest this is by design.
I'm pretty sure this is by design since thats how it works on my BT8010. Its stereo so it seems to make sense all sounds go through headset although it would be nice if it was an option. The BT8010 has a button on the headset to take it out of music mode so then they will go through the phone but I guess that doesn't help any of you out much.
Another option would be to just uncheck wireless stereo in the pairing and just check it back when you want to do wirelss stereo.

GPS sounds gone from speaker when using A2DP bluetooth headset

Hi all,
I have a HTC Touch HD and I am using both Destinator and NDriver navigation programs.
Recently, I purchased a bluetooth headset (HTC BH M300) which supports A2DP.
Now, in top bar icons, I have another icon displayed, indicating the ability to stream music. I have a problem though…
All my device sounds (except of the incoming calls of course) are now streamed to the headset. When I use the navigation programs, the voice with directions come trhough the headset and not the speaker (like when I was using a non A2DP headset).
This is annoying because I don’t like having to wear the headset at all times while driving. I need to hear to the driving directions through the speaker and talk with the headset when in a call.
Is there a way to solve this?
Go to start/settings/connection/bluetooth and on your a2dp bluetooth headset uncheck set as wireless stereo , to remain only set as headset device

BT headset & Voip

Hello guys,
I own a Tytn 200 and I have wm6.0 on it (default from HTC) everything works like a charm. I listen to music through my BT headset Peltor WS Alert A2DP Headset and phone calls also work very well (even from 60 meters away)
I've been reading here and searching on google but haven't found a "working" solution to be able to use skype, fringer, etc through the BT headset. I can hear but my headset mic is dead. At least people on the other end can not hear me.
any help will be appreciated.
