I know this is prob a daft question...
Am I right in thinking if my Universal is syncing the Contacts, Appointments, Tasks and E-mails with my Exchange server. Then its not possible to make it sync Contacts, Appointments and Tasks with another PC that isn't connected to the same Exchange Server?
I know this may sound daft, but I could really do with my Appointments ETC from my work pc on my Universal.
Thanks,
David.
I'd like to understand this as well.
I have a XDA Exec and a Wizard connecting to a paid for exchange account for my contacts etc. However on my Exec I also have Activesync set to sync my contacts with two PCs (work and home laptop) whereas on my Wizard I cannot have multiple selections for calender, just syncing with exchange.
This is a real mystery to me and I would really like to understand exchange syncing a little and how best to set up my two devices and various PCs I want to sync with.
Sync Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with 2 Exchange
Heya.
I used my home ExchangeServer for Pushmail (not only mail; calendar, tasks and contacts also).
In addition to my home exchange i synced my office exchange with the same phone. Worked without real problems.
You need to change following registry-value on the phone:
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync
2. Change the value EnableNonLocalcrossPollination from 0 to 1
3. Now you can check your second calendar, tasks and contacts, but only in ActiveSync on the Phone
Now the greyed-out fields (see attachment) aren't greyed-out anymore...
On your computer you can't do this settings...
But there are two issues:
- you can only sync the mails from one of the both accounts
- you need to sync the second account by usb-cable...
Best Regards
Peter
My question is the following. I have WM5 device that I want to sync with my home desktop computer and my Work Exchange Server. Currently I have it set up so that My contacts are synced from my home computer and my Tasks, and callander is synced by both computers. The issue is that my personal appointments are now on my exchange server.
What I would like to do is filter out the sync process by the categories that are built into Office. I want my phone to have all of my appointments and my home PC can as well but I would like to filter out personal appointments from going to my exchange server. I would also like my phone to sync contacts from both without pushing my personal contacts onto Exchange.
Is there anything out there that will do this?
Is there a fault with active Sync that you can only sync one mail profile at one time?
Is there a way around this ?
EG: sync too two mail boxes?.. ( Two Pop accounts.. EGG: [email protected]. [email protected] etc.. )
Hi,
On my PC, I have Outlook 2007 with 2 e-mail accounts and 2 separate .PST datafiles (one for each e-mail account), so I have separate inbox, sent, etc. folders.
How can I synchronize my HTC Diamond 2 with my PC? When using Activesync, it only synchronizes one account.
Please help.. tx
Either goto data options in outlook, and have outlook send the e-mails to the same inbox, or have the phone pull the e-mails directly from its wireless connection into separate inboxes. (If you dont have a data plan, you can still set the phone up to get e-mails directly from the internet, just make it sync when connected to activesync or wifi)

I think, Active Sync is using the default account. Look into your outlook settings which account is labeled as "default".
Hi Just got my first tablet. Can anybody tell me if you can synch my outlook calender with my nexus 7 calender, don't want to synch it via google calender, wondered if it can be done with out synching to google first or if there is an app i can use. thanks
There are add-on for Chrome to google sync for your computer browser. I know Chrome has them for sure...
You can go to the email app and log in with your email account you use with outlook.
Then android should sync your account as a outlook account and also your calendar schould be synced
I have set up nexus 7's email app to synch with my outlook email, but no where in email settings on nexus does it elude to synching calendar, anybody help. Thanks
This is how we do it on the phone. I just got my N7 yesterday and while contacts and e-mail have synced fine using this method, my calendar has not yet synced.

Is this a local calendar? Like you just use Outlook as a POP client, or do you log into an Exchange server. If Exchange, the default mail app on the N7 supports Activesync and you can set it up for your mail server.
If it's just a local account then you would probably need to sync it through Gmail or find an app for the tablet and a program for the computer that allows you to sync when. You plug it in or provide an OTA sync when your PC is on. This might work for you.

OK, I got my Outlook calendar syncing now. For some reason I had to create a the Exchange account from within the calendar app on the N7 for it to work. Same account as I already created in Settings. Thankfully, it doesn't show as 2 separate accounts. If you setup your Outlook to sync as in the thread I posted earlier it will work fine. You don't need to have a Hotmail account, either.
Have managed to synch my outlook emails, but only the inbox, won't snych sub folders in outlook inbox.
Looks like i will have to find a program and app, as its a local account i want to synch, don't want to bother with exchange server
Have also tried to import my contacts from outlook to the stock nexus 7 people app, but outlook will only export as a .csv file and nexus people will only import as a vcard file, any ideas.
Try my phone explorer from the Google play store and install the pc version on your pc. Syncs contacts, calendar & tasks using USB, WiFi or Bluetooth directly with the Outlook data on your pc. Check the installation screenshot for details:

Thanks will have a look at it. Do you know if it synchs with the stock nexus 7 calendar or does it add its own calendar to tablet and synch that with outlook.
