I have searched the forum for this already with no luck but I'm sure I've seen previous post regarding changing the soft keys allocated programs in the Today screen...
Prefer to reconfigure the registry rather than use tweak2k2 or other utility...

The left hand soft phone key on the today screen fires up the calendar.
I have tried to edit the reg to get it to work the phone and now I just get an error.
Can anyone help and tell me exactly how to edit the reg.

It is a vodafone v1640 and after much digging the key value is 'VTKey'
I've been searching around quite a bit but have been unable to find solutions for what I would like to do to my PPC.
I have a hermes running At&t wm5 with no intention of upgrading yet;
but my questions are:
1. I would like to change the icons of the programs in all of my menus such as start>programs and start>system>settings. I assume a program or patch, as well as a lot of work is needed. Any ideas how to go about doing this?
2. I want to change the 2 bottom soft keys on the today screen (phone/contacts) to Lock / Contacts. As in just hit my left hard or soft key to lock the phone.
Any help is much appreciated

try the attached file for this... called softkey changer.
hey. thank you for the app! I tried it but unfortunately it did not have an option to place the device lock as a soft key.
so unfortunately both problems are still left unsolved =/
Need help applying the messages with the usual style of wm6 in wm6.1.....
Check here . I think this is what you want.
There should also be a thread somewhere where the needed Reg Keys are posted, they work very well. Search Function helps. But of course, installing the CABs Meshle included is far more easy

I would like some help.
Part of my Prophet screen doesn't work anymore.
This means aligning is hell.
I would like to squeeze some more life out of the thing ...
Especially with guys like Gullum, Cloudifa, and all the other ones ...
I have already found out the registry key is
HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH\Calibration settings
I have only found values for elf, atom and others on the net.
But they are not yet as close to Prophet (atom is OK except for the far right side of the screen (scroll ...)
Could someone please be able to give me the values on their prophet ?
Want to post it instead of messaging directly to keep this on the forum for others.
If I should have missed an earlies posting woth the settings, sorry, please then redirect me.

These values are unique to each device. If every device was the same, there would be no need for this!

I know about the unique settings, but with your prophet settings I can try to come closer thn woth settings fora completely different device, and maybe tweak a bit more myself through remot registry editor.

You need a registry editor. If you just want to realign the screen, hold the windows hardware button and then press the centre d-pad button.

tnx...but my PDA doesn't allow to finish the align screen process, one of the corners i can't align it...maybe phisical problem???

Maybe a hardware issue...
Try using a registry editor (I'd use this) to edit the settings using those above... May not be perfect but may help....

On the home screen of my diamond 2, below the touchflo slider icons i have two links one is 'Phone' the other is 'Camera'.
Basically i want to change the 'Camera' link to 'Contacts' or 'All People' so i can quickly access my contacts.
Im sure this is possible, can any one point me in the right direction.

SoftKey registry is located in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
You have both LSK and RSK path and text.

I think TD2 Tools may be able to set soft keys.
Its really easy and there are instruction if you search.

**Edit, removing program**
tried keyswop but it didnt work for me
managed to get it working with diamond tweaks but it only had a set amount of programs to choose from, i wanted 'HTC people' version of contacts but it only listed the windows mobile layout of the contacts... yeah i know i am being a bit picky!!!!
is there any way of adding htc people to the list?

You may try HDTools or Advanced Config aswell, I remember it worked for me when I had WM6.1, but should work also with 6.5, since the registry keys are the same in that area.
EDIT: I thought that it wouldn't be very smart to install a whole app just to get one tweak..so I made a little .cab that should link the Left Soft Key to Contacts. Tested and working on my device, I hope it works for you!
Install on your device (not SD) and soft reset, that's it. To revert to previous configuration just uninstall the .cab in the usual way.
