Extended_rom storage folder write protected? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

so now i upgraded the rom to the official one
ROM version : 1.6.7.1 WWE
Rom Date: 11/28/05
Radio Version 01.13.10
Protocol Version 4.0.13.24
ExtRom Version 1.6.7.101
also downloaded the unlock_ext_rom2 file.. so now i can see the ext rom folder...inside has 7 files...the autorun.exe, config, EnablemMMSDRM, Shortcut-MMS1-Ja etc etc etc
Do i need these files inside this folder? also when i try to put e.g) a picture inside it says the file is write protected...

Where to get a radio unit file in SD format ??

Hello
I have a serious problem with my XDA Qtek 1010 on the radio part.
In the bootloader i got " GSM ERROR" due to an error in flashing procedure.
I can back-up my ROM and bootloader and GSM part as well.
The problem is that I have found a lot of files to flash my ROM part bu nothing for the RADIO part.
Is there anyone so kind to help me and send a file ( or a link to download from ) from the radio part ( in SD format ) ?
Thanks,
Silviu C.
It would help if we knew what Radio stack you were running before the upgrade?
radio version before upgrade
I am not sure about initial radio version. It was an upgrade that is for sure.
please help me
Ok here you go, download the below file, use WinZip to extract the .cab from the .exe and copy it to your SD card.
Qtek 1010 Radio Stack Upgrade

Download Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe

hello! I'm wanted to know how do you extract the Extrom from ppc? meaning the each file such as CallerID, PhonePad, etc.. thank u in advance.
That are the wrong Folders!
Over here the right Paths
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Magician/extended rom 1.12.119 wwe
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Magician/extracted qtek 1.12.00
Sorry , folders fixed!
There are plenty threads explaining this, but here you go:
Extraction of extrom:
-Install required rom
-On first start up setup ppc untill " please tap screen" to finalize
-Within the 3 second count down soft reset your system
-you will see exposed extrom via explorer
-from within active sync/explore navigate to folder and copy to pc
-voila, each cab can be started manually from within ppc[/quote]

Bypassing Extended ROM then manually installing .CABs

Hi, ive been trying to customise my extended ROM using the guides layed out in this forum however, most of the files i need to do this i cannot download as for some reason any .zip or .rar files over 15Mb's or so end up corrupt but anyway.
I found a guide on how to bypass the extended ROM (hard reset device, soft reset before the Extended ROM begins to install) then install the various cab files manually using Total Commander from here: http://ghisler.fileburst.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.cab
however, when i do the above and then run total commander i am unable to locate the "\Extended_ROM\" directory with the cab files. Any suggestions? im running a:-
qtek2020i on vodafone
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM date: 01/27/05
Radio version: 1.03.00
Protocol Version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.11.142 WWE (obviously this part doesnt appear at the moment =]
Probably a silly questions and i have tried searching for the info to no avail.
cheers
EDIT. i also do not have "hide files in ROM" selected
Any ideas anyone i have followed every directive there is and i cannot get the extended rom to appear, why?
if i run total commander and type in \\EXTENDED_ROM or even \EXTENDED_ROM (even written it as Extended_ROM; extended_rom etc) yet nothing appears.
I tested it for other folders ie storage and once "storage" had been typed into the address bar it takes me to that directory. so would that then suggest my extended rom is else where? i have searched for files over 60kb's, files with .cab extensions, "hidden" and "unhidden" ROM files and im lost. Sorry folks but its not a matter of being lazy or being retarded and it had an extended rom in the first place so wtf is going on?

To view the Extended ROM, just install TOTAL COMMANDER for PPC
Then in the address bar, put : "\\EXTENDED_ROM" (without the quotes)
Then you will see the contents of extended ROM.
If you want, you can copy the contents of the Extended to your SD card instead so you don't have to connect to your PC.
To unlock your extended ROM (to change/delete/edit the stuff there) you need a certain file which is in the FTP under Uploads/Universal/Tools or something to that effect.
Hello Jorgee,
I've tried to install Total Commander on my v1640 but when I access \\EXTENDED_ROM nothing is shown...
What's missing?
Thanks

Jorge I found the mistake, \EXTENDED_ROM is with only one back slash and not with two.
Thank you very much for your help...

Sticky Date??

I am Using Original ROM RUU_Elfin_hTC_Asia_India_3.07.720.03_4.1.13.71_03.34.90_BLUE_Ship.
The problem faced by me is that i am not able to edit my date format on the home screen. I have tried all the combinations.
Initialy i went to regional setting and changed the short date setting and later went to HKLM/nls/override and then edited SSDte to ddd, dd MMM, yy. and then rebooted the ELFIN. but that **** stuff won't change. I have been doing this registry edit in all my other handsets but they turnout to be right.
Even after many combinations my date remains to be Dec 06, 2008(format only). Actually i want it to be Sat, 6 Dec, 2008.
I seriously look upon you senior members to help me out.
My details are as such:

PROTOCOL VERSION : 4.1.13.71
WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.19972 (bUILD 19972.1.2.7)
Partial Solution found
Copy the file attached here below and Paste it into My Documents of your ELFin
Disable the Touchflo from Start<Setting tabs<Today<Items.
Now Go to My Documents Folder(using File Explorer) and press Manila2D file (the one pasted), wait for a second and the Home page with proper date format is seen.
Step Further
I tried pasting this file into Windows folder instead of My Documents folder, it says
" A system file named 'Manila2D' already exist.
Replace the existing file 1.07M, Thu,9Oct08, with this one?
1.07M, Tue,9Dec,08
Yes No,
If I press yes then it further displays a message saying:
X Cannot copy 'Manila2D':
Access is denied.
Be certain that there is enough free storage memory, that the destination is not write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
CAN SOME BODY HELP HOW TO INSERT THIS FILE INTO WINDOWS FOLDER.
