Hey
Has anyone installed either Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion onto their k-jam or MDA - if so, were there any problems associated with the downloads?
Thanks...
Pocket Informant on K-Jam: no problem. -Michael.

Have tried both; AF is SLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWW.
Stick with PI you won't be disappointed
I use PI 2005. Works perfect.
I had opposite results PI was slow and AF works much better. Infact just purchased AF after testing the trial version. Why not get both and try before you buy?
Frankly, I find them both almost identical in most respects. I found them both a bit slower than I like since moving to WM5, but not much difference. I own both, but I liked the contacts entry better in PI. And it took up less memory than AF.
Both have a trial and you won't go wrong with either one.
Thanks guys - I'll kick off with PI to test and see how I go...

Hello!
I'm contemplating whether it's worth it to get an enhance PIM such as Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant. What do you guys think? Are these PIMs heavy on resources that it make sense to stay with the defualt PIM? For those who has experienced using both PI and agenda fusion, which one is a better app overall (performance, reliability, etc)?
Thanks in advance for your comments
Poch
Both PI and AF are really useful applications and both companies regularly provide updates and enhancements to compete with each other.
I have been using PI for a very long time and am very happy with it. I like the ability to customise views etc. and have not found it to be resource hungry at all. Many of my friends however argue black and blue that AF is better
My advice to you is to download the trial version of both applications and give then a very thorough workout on your own unit and under your own PIM requirements before taking the plunge and making a purchase. They are similar but they are different and what one person likes another doesn't.
Ed
i tryied both of them and i decided to go for PI too, les hungry in RAM and cpu, better views in the agenda and a wonderfull little today plug in aviable PIToday.
I use PI since version 4 and I am very happy with it. it works very good. So I would advice PI to anyone.

I prefer Agenda Fusion. It loads faster and has an excellent "Week" view that I use a lot.
Agenda Fusion
I'm using Agenda Fusion seens 6 month (now version 5.80) and I like it verry much.quick lookup contact, easy link contact with tasks or agenda. Picture of contact or compagny. A lot of clear calendar view, skinable color...
Very good software!!!!
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts...I am currently evaluating Agenda Fusion - so far, so good!
By the way Kiyeko, there is a version 6 already of the product, you might want to check it out...
PIToday
I really like this product and i have just upgraded to WM2k5... anyone managed to get it to work :?:
TIA
Shane
wich one is better?? or theres a better PIM???
This question has been asked on just about every PPC forum I frequent very much a personal choice as though they are both similar they are different in how they display things and custom features.
My advice is to download the trial version of both and give them a good work out for yourself before making your selection.
I prefer Pocket Informant and have never regretted buying it. Works well, stable, easy to use, regular enhancements to keep improving it.
Ed
Yes I agree. Pocket Informant is the knees of the bees.
I prefer Agenda Fusion. It loads faster and has an excellent week view.
I haven't tried Pocket Informant but I love Agenda Fusion. Best $40 I ever spent on my XDA2. It does exactly what it claims to do, works perfectly and never interferes with anything else on the machine.
I've read a lot of stories about Pocket Informant causing alarm or Today screen problems.
I wanna know if anybody know any applications or software that work's or is compatible windows Mobile 5 on the Wizard ?
Am sure the Java Games or apps should work.
Any one tried any that do ?

SPB Pocket Plus works flawlessly in my BlueAngel WM5 machine, however, I feel that SPB P+ slowed down my device so I decided to use combination of iLauncher v2.2 (http://www.sbsh.net) and Wisbar Advance 2.4.1.9 (http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com) which runs awesome (much faster than using SPB Pocket Plus)
As for pocket informant, you need to download WM5 version from here:

I hope this helps
there is a big list of progs that are known to work/not work in the himalaya forum.
what i dont understand though is if the program is known to work ok on wk2k5 himalaya, will the same prog work on a k-jam which has a different kind of CPU? or is it all like PC's now where the make of the cpu doesnt really matter and that windows takes care of all that kind of stuff.

there is already a warning that tomtom 5 will not install properly through activesync 4, (files have to be transfered without activesync 4) this may also be why some other programs will seem to be incompatable with wm5?
so if you can transfer the program eg by card reader that you want to test, then install it, you may get better results.
mine should be arriving tomorrow
changing the subject slightly, ordered mine from http://www.smartdevicesdirect.com/index.php
very happy with the service.

Hi Friends,
I om really sick of correcting the screen alignment every 2 hours.
please tell me there is a cure/fix to this issue.
In my extended rom I have deleted the following
SKYPE
Smart Dialling
Anti Virus
Backgammon.
The 3rd party softwares that I use are
Tweaks2K2
Ewallet
Worldmate Pro
SPB pocket plus
SPB Finance
Pocket Breeze 5.01
Pocket calc
Sprite Backup
Pocket Mechanic
SPB Imageer
Personal Vehicle Manager.
PLEASE HELP ME
Thanks
Ahmed
To be honest if it really is every two hours I would back it up, hard reset the thing and make sure it doesn't have problems in an out of the box configuration.
If it is ok then I'm afraid you will have to deal with the fact that you are going to have to incrementally load your software to determine what is causing the problem. For reference Ewallet is the only software in common with my configuration and I have zero issues. Also I don't use skype and deinstalled the AV as well as the Backgammon software.
I had this program before.
I was using OmapClock and adjusted it to 252.
Now I set it to 240 and have no problem
Actually I still have this problem even when I didn't overclock it
The only program I have the same is SPB Pocket Plus on that list.
wow! great to hear someone else has this problem. you guys think this is software related and not hardware? i bought my dopod818 (but is on jamin rom) from another country. so its gona be hard for me to have it replace for now.

I'm also having the same issue and I also use SPB Pocket plus.
I'm good
I don't experience any funky screen alignment problems. I did however, with my Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard) but now with my prophet I'm good. I have a ton of apps installed and overclocked to 240 (225-227 actual).
I do know how annoying this can be. I would do the backup and hard reset to see what your out of box status is. I'm sure it's a 3rd party app problem.
I too use SPB Pocket + so that may not be the problem. I did have SKYPE on my Wizard and not on my Prophet so it may be SKYPE or a combination.
I also did a lot of ROM swaps on my Wizard and so far none on my Prophet so that me be a factor.
Hi guys...
I'm looking for a good today plugin for use in the TyTN in order to see calendar and task events... like Pocket Breezer or SPB Diary.
The thing here is that I would like to know if have had some experience with this apps in the TyTN; I really wont want to have problems with the stability/operation of the device.
In My old WM2003SE the Pocket Breeze was just perfect, but when I first try it on the TyTN I had some issues...
I just would like to know, in your experience...wich app would you recomend for have a good view of the calendar in the today screen.
Thanks in advace for sharing!!
Try Today Agenda - free & works well.
What issues did you have with Pocket Breeze? Have you tried the latest 5.2 version? You could post a question on the SBSH forum, they can usually resolve problems with you.
I have Breeze on my T-Mobile MDA Vario II and it works flawlessly.
I have use the V 5.001 trial version (cause I wanted to check if worked before buying it)... The main problem was that TyTN crashed too many times and i need to soft reset a lot; even after a soft reset sometimes still doesn work and had to aply a new soft reset.
I will give a try to the latest version as you said and also will use it without any other today plugin...I use to have Spb weather, skype, and the lock device in my today screen.
thanks for the comments...!!
any one else with another app that can try...??
thanks
I use spb Diary and really like it. As you have spb weather, you can integrate that into the diary as an additional feature too.
As baxter says try today agenda a very good plugin and its free. Many have even switched from PB to this.
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270288
I'm using the pack of sbsh apps, pocketbreeze, pocketweather, ilauncher, and contactbreeze on my 8525 without issue...
http://www.mobilitysite.com/forums/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=13843
As for me I would advice SPB Diary. It works stable on my HTC TyTN for 3 months. I also apreciated its "completeness" - it presents almost all PIM information in one place - calendar, tasks, e-mails, contacts.
Re stability - I understand it often depends on the app collection you install. The more install - the less stable system become , of cause it;s always possible to try different combintaions and find a good balance, but...
Good luck in search and try!
p.s. I also tried Pocket Breeze + Contacts and found these combination working a bit slower and giving me less features than SPB Pocket Plus + SPB Diary, IMHO.
I am also a fan of today agenda
I am using Pocket Breeze, iLauncher and Pocket Weather all together on a Tytn....works perfectly.
Be sure to install in system memory, not the storage card.
I have found the TyTn will occassionally freeze when these were installed on the storage card. Since moving to main memory I have been very stable.

as a rule of thumb, anything that access's the today screen or is constantly in use should be installed to the main memory and not the card.. some will work just fine installed to the card, but if you find you are having issues with it then you might want to move it to the phone
I use Calendar+ from http://mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/10
and it's FREE

Thank you all...
I think this was the problem; the trial period I used pocket breezer and SPB Diary I installed them in Storage card... so, now I will install in main memory; as some members have said, both app works just fine without problems so, now the point is just decide the one that looks better and gives the more info..
Also will give a try to the Today Agenda... always nice try the free ones.. ;-)
Regards!
Same here... calendar + rocks! Free, simple, small... can't beat that!
Cal+ works perfect for me too!
I used calendar+ and tasks+ for over a year. Switched to Today Agenda. Free and much better. Check it out.
